#46 - Death and Dying Series - Caring for the dying - how prepared are you?

Caring for the dying is often underestimated – we underestimate how much it takes from us as we choose to do it.

I know because when I did it, I didn’t understand the magnitude of this process for me. The thing is, when the one that we care for passes away, we continue living without them. This episode is the 3rd part of the Death and Dying series, and it brings up various topics that we all can consider when we choose to care for others who are dying.

My mentor, Rachelle Fuehrer is an international counsellor, therapist and coach.

She trained as a bereavement counsellor at a private hospice in Roodepoort, Johannesburg, and completed Palliative Care support training in Switzerland.

I hope our conversation provides you with some thought-provoking realization to support you in showing up for your loved ones without neglecting yourself.

#45 - Death and Dying Series - The overview of emotional, mental, physical and spiritual stages of the dying process.

Like in birth and life, death also has its processes.

The dying process happens on all levels – emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.

I intend for this conversation to offer us an understanding that death is just like birth and life – it has many processes, and each process has stages. It can also help to be aware of the process we go through as we are about to start our death journey and when we support other people going through it (and this will be covered in the 3rd episode of the Death and Dying series that will be coming to you shortly).

Rachelle Fuerer is an international counsellor, therapist and coach.

She trained as a bereavement counsellor at a private hospice in Roodepoort, Johannesburg and gave her time to the dying and their families during the transition process and continued to support those left behind in finding their way back into their lives. She also completed Palliative Care support training in Switzerland.

The content of these episodes is thought-provoking and just touching the surface of this vast topic.

A request for you. Please subscribe to Uplift My Life Today Podcast channel and give it a 5-star rating.  It helps me continue producing high-quality episodes to support many people who want to live their lives connected to their hearts.

And for now, enjoy this episode and please share your thoughts with me.

With love,
Astuti

#44 - Death and Dying Series - What natural death means and how to prepare for it - Rachelle Fuerer

For many years, I’ve been asking myself why there are so many rituals, publications, and workshops about birth and life but not necessarily about death.

Are we scared thinking about it? Are we scared of accepting that we all will die? What are we fearful of?

Join my discussion with Rachelle Fuerer about Death and Dying in this episode (the 1st out of 3).

We’re discussing natural death, what it means, what It can look like, why it is important to be prepared for it and how to do so.

Selamat mendengarkan!

#36 - Money stress and addiction - what we can do about it - Ilana Jankowitz

#36 - Money stress and addiction - what we can do about it - Ilana Jankowitz

Sometimes, as life happens, we lose sight of why we do what we do.

More often than not, as we take a bit of time to recall why we are so busy doing things, it is usually to deal with or avoid some type of stress and fear.

My conversation with Ilana Jankowitz, a Certified Mindful Money Coach based in Zurich, Switzerland, is about how our existing money beliefs, habits, and patterns (represented by the Archetypes) contribute to the stress and fear we have over money.

We are also discussing financial abuse, how addiction and money stress correlates and rooted in the same wound and what needs to be done to change these. Ilana gives us some practical tips and tools to help you be more aware of your existing archetype as the first step in changing your relationship with money.

Enjoy!

#29 - Demystifying Essential Oil with Ale Franco

COVID 19 pandemic is a long journey, my friends.

I am continuously searching for ways to support us during this challenging period. Essential Oil may be something that you can explore.

So, what is an essential oil? Why is it so helpful for us?
To demystify it all, I am joined by
Ale Franco, who has done her personal exploration and research to understand what these wonderful oils are.

Since 2014, with the mind of an industrial engineer, she attended several training and congresses in the subject to help her understand the underlying science behind essential oils. She also learned about the regulations and labelling policy around the household and personal care products that she felt it is important to share all the accumulative knowledge that she has gathered and also tested with others so we all can make healthier choices for our lives.

A Corporate Executive for a Retail Business based in Mexico City by day, Ale is also a Young Living Independent Distributor.

In this podcast episode, Ale is sharing what essential oil is, why it helps us emotionally and physically, what to watch out for when you would like to start using it and some tips on what to use these days particularly, especially because we are working from home, wearing masks and regularly need to clean our hands. We can do these more healthily and comfortably.

#27 - Dissecting Conscious Friendship with Julie, Jourdan and Constantine

Safety happens because there is a connection, not because there is a lack of threat.

I learnt this profound statement from Dr Gabor Maté, one of the leading experts in the world of trauma healing.

Friendship is an under-recognised and underutilised resource for connections that we need to thrive in this life, to weather the storm, to face uncertainty.

"We're in this together" is what keeps us going these days, one day at a time.

Join my three wonderful guests, Jourdan Hussein, Julie Grauel and Constantine Karampatsos and me in reflecting on what a conscious friendship is about, what it is not, how it helps us and what we need to invest in to grow it, within ourselves and in the relationship itself.

#26 - No matter what, I belong - Rachelle Furer (Part 3 out of 3)

Knowing what we know now about how a blind systemic loyalty can burden our lives today, Rachelle Furrer is guiding us to delve deeper into some real-case scenarios that create even more imbalances in our system. These imbalances are often being carried down over many generations. We’re going to discuss some of the symptoms and the root causes.

Rachelle will also explain what our role is in our system, how we can contribute to it today, and where to start.

About Rachelle Furer:

For more than 40 years, Rachelle has been searching for ways to help others move along their paths with greater ease.

This exploration has encompassed delving into psychology, philosophy, systemic thinking, spiritual practices, metaphysics, a plethora of alternative therapies along with the more practical and pragmatic pursuit of counseling, coaching, facilitation, and teaching.

Now semi-retired to Switzerland, Rachelle remains passionate about personal and leadership development.

To live well PRESENTLY in our life, it is required that we maintain the equilibrium between the belonging to our system (including in it the influences of 7 generations of our ancestors) and our autonomy as an individual in the present generations.
In this 2nd part of the 3 parts the "No matter what, I belong" series, Rachelle Furer is sharing some real cases that show what happens when we allow the unconscious blind loyalty to our systems rules our lives.
Along with that, she is sharing some tools and approaches to help us maintain the equilibrium between our autonomy as the present generation and our belonging to our systems.

#24 - 7 plus 7 equals ME! - Systemic Healing - Rachelle Furer (Part 1 out of 3)

Do you know that each of us carries actively within us the influences of 7 generations of our family?

Do you realize that in order to feel whole within, we must integrate ourselves with the systems that we're part of? Some systems are given to us, some are to choose by us.

What is the system that we're part of? How do we integrate ourselves with our system? What happens when we don't?

Join my conversation with Rachelle Furer on the "No matter what, I belong" series, consisting of 3  episodes.

This is the first episode and it delves deep into the System itself, how it works, how to integrate it, and what happens when we don't integrate them - the symptoms we experience in our lives today.

#19 - How vulnerability helps us become better leaders - Nena Martinez

#19 - How vulnerability helps us become better leaders - Nena Martinez

As Go-getters, it is important for us to sustainably growing and contributing, which means, to grow and contribute feeling healthy and fulfilled in the journey, over a long period of time.

Not only it is important for us as individuals, it is equally important for the people around us, especially to the ones that we lead or manage. You can only lead deeply through showing others what you want them to do.

Being YOU while doing so, being authentic as who you truly are, is a foundation for being a good leader.

Having experienced a burnout at the end of 2008, I learnt the hard way that vulnerability is not a weakness. In fact, it is the very thing that helps me to become a better leader and a more fulfilled person.

How so?

Join me in the 2nd part of the deep dive conversation I had with
Nena Martinez about vulnerability in the workplace. We discussed real examples on how to integrate it in becoming the next version of ourselves as a leader.

Nena Martinez is the first Latin America’s Certified Daring Way Facilitator Case Consultant and a Public Speaker. She trained with Dr. Brené Brown to help herself and others understand their shame triggers, the power of being vulnerable, and living a compassionate and courageous life. She facilitates workshops, consultations, and individual sessions where she explores themes like vulnerability, courage, compassion, shame, values, conscious parenting etc.

She created "Setratadenosotros" in order to share information that she finds inspiring and helpful in her personal life.

Enjoy!

#18 - How vulnerability helps overcoming inadequacy - Nena Martinez

As Go-getters, we push through, growing and achieving.
In the process, It is not uncommon for us to feel…inadequate sometimes.

We’ve achieved and grown so much but we still feel frustrated, depleted, lost, empty…inadequate.

For many of us, facing such feelings make us put even more actions and efforts. When we’re not careful, at some point we land in a place called burn out.

I firmly believe there is a strong correlation between vulnerability and burnout.

This is why this episode comes out.

It is the first out of 2 parts deep dive with Nena Martinez about vulnerability and how it helps us to overcome a sense of inadequacy. The next episode is how vulnerability helps us to become better leaders.

I wish for all of us to understand what vulnerability is (and is NOT), its purpose in our lives and how to integrate it into our lives, so we can achieve and grow MORE feeling FULFILLED.

#14 - Igniting Self and Others - the story of JB Owen

#14 - Igniting Self and Others - the story of JB Owen

JB Owen is a powerhouse.
She is.

She is a mother of 3 teenagers, a CEO of 3 businesses (Lotus Liners, IGNITE YOU platform and JBO Global) and a loving wife to her husband, Peter.

Beyond all her wonderful achievements, what I find inspiring the most is her journey in her life. It has been filled with intense ups and downs.
Health problems, closed down her businesses, got a divorce, became a single mum with no support were just a few.
Through it all, she experienced some "ignite moments" when, against opinions of others, she followed her intuition and went into un-chartered territory.

I'm excited to have JB in this episode where she is sharing with us the pearls of wisdom she collected from her journey - in being a present parent for her children, in being an awakened loving partner to her husband, in being a conscious leader in her 3 businesses, in helping others ignite their lives and in manifesting her desire in and for life.

#10 - How your birth process STILL impacts you today! - Sharon King

  • Do you know that you started to form your beliefs about yourself, others and life when you were in your mother’s womb?
  • Do you know that being born is often a traumatic journey for the baby as well as for the parents on the other side?
  • Do you know that how you show up in your life today as an ADULT is mostly driven by your unconscious beliefs?

Our birth process impacts us all. We formed many beliefs during this period of our life.

The key to change our lives for the better is to change our unconscious beliefs into uplifting ones.

#7 - Your body's talking, are YOU listening? - Conscious Breathing

#7 - Your body's talking, are YOU listening? - Conscious Breathing

BREATHE…

I heard my therapist repeating this to me as I received her help to rise back from the burnout I experienced at the end of 2008.

BREATHE…

While I followed what she asked me, I was puzzled. I didn’t understand at all the context of why she asked me to "breathe" when I was obviously breathing.

I did, however, develop a “new” habit since then: to remember to consciously breathing regularly everyday. I still keep it until now. I can’t speak highly enough how conscious breathing habit changed my life.

In this episode, I invite Michelle Sabatini to share with us in-depth what #consciousbreathing is, what it does to us, especially in helping us to un-stuck ourselves from any situation anywhere, and how to do it.

Enjoy!

Time Code:

00:12          Welcome

0:40           The importance of breathing and why it’s worthwhile discussing it

02:20         Get to know Michelle Sabatini and how her body work approach helps many people to break automatic patterns in daily lives.

11:50           What conscious breathing looks like, why it is important to do, and why we often are unaware/disconnected from it.

19:12          Why it is important to accept what our body tells us and how breathing helps that.

27:00        How (tips to act on) to unblock us from feeling stuck, be it in a meeting, traffic jam, or any situation.

37:06        How breathing consciously helps us to let go the feeling of isolation and the role of pain in it.

44:30       Tips on how to breathe consciously regularly.

47:40        How to get in touch with Michelle Sabatini and what she offers (also for free) to help anyone to breathe consciously.
