The Woman King Movie Review

In episode 29, we are discussing the Woman King movie. Time for a reset to restore your productivity

Time for a reset to restore your productivity

In this episode, my guest Celine Brozowish shares her passion in restore our productivity with lifestyle medicine. We did deeper into the following :

  • what is lifestyle medicine
  • how was she introduced to from her personal depression story that almost made her take her own life?
  • Her practice and proven results from lifestyle medicine.

This episode is jam-packed with a lot of new knowledge that will equip and empower you to take a deep look at how your lifestyle impacts your productivity. As well as how we can start today by making a few changes in our lifestyle.

As Celine said, It is never too late to start, please start, do something NOW.

Celine Anelone Brozovich is the founder of Dances With Foods, a health and productivity company created to build employee morale and reduce employer healthcare expenses. Celine was the Director of Customer Success with McKesson, a Fortune 10 company. She won the coveted McKesson President’s Award for over the top achievers. By the way, only 0.3% of McKesson employees are selected.

In a nutshell, Celine works across the organization to teach and coach. She leverages Lifestyle  Medicine programs that are scientifically based with proven results and sound business principles to deliver a program with sustainable results.

The reason this is key now is that research has shown that worker productivity decreases by up to  46% when they are in very poor health. Furthermore, the Center for Disease Control (CDC)  states as a fact that 6 out of 10 Americans suffer from chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, etc. Celine’s work as a coach and consultant addresses these issues directly.

What makes Celine’s work uniquely fit for businesses is her bottom-line sensitivity, which stands out in a field with many nutrition experts. Here are a few things that make Celine  different:

1. She is currently co-teaching Lifestyle Medicine classes based on the Complete Health  Improvement Program (CHIP), as a licensed facilitator with a physician at Providence in  Everett, WA. Providence is a $2.3 billion health system with over three thousand employees.

2. She offered her Health and Productivity Program for the employees of the YMCA in  Monroe, WA a part of the Snohomish County YMCA that serves more than 100K  members.

3. She is highly knowledgeable on Lifestyle Medicine and combines her experience as a  People Change Management Professional and Lifestyle coach to deliver a program to prevent diseases and reduce employer health care expenses.

4. With an MS in electrical engineering degree, MBA, and People Change Management  Certification, plus more than 25 years of real business experience in the private sector,  she brings a much needed fresh and practical approach. And, employees love her enthusiasm, knowledge, and emphasis on making the experience fun, practical, and sustainable.

5. She is a passionate and inspiring teacher that appeals to large and small groups. She  leverages her personal experiences and focuses on sustainable results

The Power of writing

The Power of writing

Welcome to season #2 of the #upYourConfidence podcast, and our first episode, a solo episode where I unpack the power of writtings.

Writing can be cathartic for me. Writing provides you an opportunity to express your feelings with no judgment.  I share in detail the following area I have been documenting my life for the past twenty years and the huge benefit I gain from it. Benefits for my mental clarity, mental strength, strong self-esteem, and strong self-confidence.

At the end of the episode, I hope you will grab a paper and pen or your iPad and write about the following five areas :

  1. your goals and dreams
  2. your action plans and daily habits
  3. your pains or failures
  4. your victories and successes
  5. Your anxieties and fears.

Writing down your thoughts helps you easily become more grateful, and gratitude is a game-changer in your confidence journey.

"It's a funny thing about life, once you begin to take note of the things you are grateful for, you begin to lose sight of the things you lack."

~ Germany Kent, Author

There is a power in writing down your goal, it helps in formulatiing your goal and has clarity on where you are going.

"Set a goal to achieve something that is so big, so exhilarating that it excites you and scares you at the same time. It must be a goal that is so appealing, so much in line with your spiritual core, that you can't get it out of your mind. If you do not get chills when you set a goal, your not setting big enough goals."

The essence of coaching

The essence of coaching

In this episode 7 of your #upYourConfidence Podcast with your host Lisette Zounon, we will dive into what is the essence of coaching.

The first job of the coach is Listening, then ask questions.

So let's talk about Listening to a bit, one of my favorite topics.  When We talk about listening, it seems such an easy thing, but most of us have challenges being a good listener, being an active listener. The first duty of love is to Listen. Listening is actually a learner skill. It can be thought to believe it or. When I listen, I pay attention to all the cues; you have to be fully present. It takes confidence to listen to others fully with no judgment, grasp their viewpoints and opinions. There are nine techniques for Listening :

  1. Like to Listen - Be a good listener
  2. Ignore Distractions, Listen with your eyes and with your ears, be intentional
  3. SUmmarise what the speaker is saying: it is important to repeat what is said
  4. TAme your emotions- Control your emotions based on what you heard
  5. Eliminate Hasty judgments:  fact Vs. opinion, avoid by Passing.
  6. Never interrupt: When we disagree mentally with the speakers.
  7. Inspire Openness: Make the speaker feel like you agree, inspire them to hear them.
  8. Acknowledge the need to listen
  9. Generate Conclusions: Now decide to signal that it is your turn to speak.

There is a difference between coaching and mentoring. In terms of coaching, there are so many models, I use one that adapts to the situation, but I find the GROW model to work for personal coaching: Here are the details on the GROW model:

  • Goal: set SMART goals
  • Reality: understand the importance of identifying the gap between the current situation and the goal. define the reality
    • Understand current obstacles, past behaviors blocking success
    • Determine difficulty and challenge
    • Define threats to success
  • Options and Opportunities - encourage creative thinking.
    • Address problem with a new perspective, new ideas
    • Creative thinking
  • The way forward: encourage to take actions
    • Support change and actions
    • Create momentum, excitement
    • Keep energy going
    • Reviewing and reflecting

So my essence of coaching is really asking transformational questions, powerful questions that provide clarity and solve problems.

Black Lives Conversation with Women in Bi-racial families

Black Lives Conversation with Women in Bi-racial families

#UpYourConfidence Episode#1 -Black Lives Conversation with Women in Bi-racial families.

Today I am excited to bring to you this meaningful conversation for and by women that equip, empower, and elevate us to live our God-given potential.

I did not know that our first episode for #upYourConfidence will be about this topic but here we are sometimes you have to meet the moment.

Two weeks ago, I made a video on YouTube about how I felt about what has been going on the modern-day lynching for 8:46 min. I thought I was done, about this. I believe we are in a moment of inflection, and that we need to speak up and speak out, about this system of oppression, racism, and covert white supremacy behaviors all black people have been experimenting with. But I believe that the people that will help us are white women and white people.  And last weekend, I saw a tweet and video of Serena William’s husband giving up his seat as CEO of his company. I just love it and it got me thinking and wondering how do women in bi-racial relationships have this conversation with their partner and with their families.  Interesting June 12th was Loving day, it has only been only 53 years that biracial marriage has been approved by the supreme court.
