Episode 6: Tom Sandler & the New England Patriots Foundation
Few folks are as passionate about what they do, who they do it for, and where they do it as Tom Sandler. A retired Army First Sergeant, Tom has dedicated his life to helping others by pushing his body to new levels, whether through marathons or knee-grinding ruck competitions. When it comes to marathons, what better way than by running the 128th Boston Marathon for the New England Patriots Foundation. A partnership born through networking, fueled by desire and compassion to help as many people as possible, all the while memorializing those who have given their everything for this great nation. Located in rural Louisa County, Virginia is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that dedicates itself to ensuring that the military veterans of this great nation receive the respectful recognition that they have earned and when they need it the most. Central Virginia Honor Guard is an amazing group of veterans who refuse to let our nation’s heroes be laid to rest without the dignified honors that they are deserving of. Their mission statement says it all: “ The mission of the Central Virginia Honor Guard is to provide military honors for funerals, memorial services, and ceremonies as requested regardless of the service branch. Our members are proud representatives of this most hallowed event and our standard will remain perfection.
