Hello, Listeners! In this episode, we are putting together our five picks of movies to watch that received multiple Oscar nominations, but came up with no awards. Hello listeners! In this episode (also a dated recording as you'll quickly note!) we are sticking up for the little guy. And by little guy, we mean mostly movies made by big studios and starring big actors that just didn't perform as well as they'd hope. We're each drafting five movies that won the Golden Razzberry award for Worst Film with the goal of making the most watchable collection of five films. Hello listeners! As you'll be able to tell from our discussion up top, this one was recorded way back in the olden times of 2023 but we're finally making our way through editing some of our back log. In this episode, Paul has ranked each year that he's been alive based on the most popular movie, song, TV show, and video game from that year. Each of us is drafting a team of animals that, in an alternate universe, might have been domesticated thousands of years ago and as safe to have as a pet as a dog or a cat is today. In anticipation of Dial of Destiny we'll be drafting sets of five Ford movies (with the Indy films off the table) to see who can come up with the Ford-iest collection. One. Hundred. Episodes! That's right listeners, we've done 100 drafts so we're coming in strong with a callback to our very first episode. Well, not that strong considering we spend four minutes up top talking about pillows but if you want to skip the pillow talk yo can always hit the timecodes! In our first episode we drafted U.S. presidents and put them into a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Of course, using U.S. presidents meant we had an all-male tournament so we decided to flip the scale and produce an all-female basketball tournament by drafted female world leaders throughout history. Which leading ladies did we find that could produce on the court? How much harder was this to research than the presidents? Listen in and find out!

This week we're thinking about nutrition and what sorts of food are healthiest to add into your diet, but in usual What's On Draft fashion we're putting a little spin on it - when you draft a food, you have to draft it for a specific nutritional element but you receive no other benefits from it. You want bananas for their potassium? OK, but then you get no vitamins, minerals, or anything else from the banana! Who can put together the healthiest and most nutritious menu within these guidelines? Listen in and then let us know!

Hello listeners! In this deadly episode of What's On Draft we're thinking about the apocalypse and the people who make it through. More specifically, would we want to make it through? Each of us are drafting a list of fictional, somewhat-tolerable apocalypses (and then assigning the worst one we can think of to someone else) and then playing a game of randomly selecting one from our team to live in. If you were also going to be randomly sorted into one apocalypse, which team would you go with? We tampered with the rules a little bit to try and make it a little more interesting, but the base is the same as we're drafting the nominees for this year's academy awards and trying to get as many wins on our team as possible. Hello listeners! This week we've got another geography based trivia podcast for you and in this one size does matter because we're looking for the countries that have the highest populations. Returning guest David joins us for a draft board that Cameron put together and we try to put together a team of five countries with the most people in them, and also answer some trivia questions for the opportunity to earn some extra people in our population pools (sort of a reverse Thanos situation). This one we recorded a while ago but then put on ice while we got ready to come back with a full supply of episodes so there might be some dated references, but listen in and see how well you can pick the countries playing along at home!

This week we're reaching back into the vault and taking something Cameron recorded with Holly back before the podcast even had a name, you know, back when it was just a twinkle in its three fathers' eyes (which is many twinkles). Cameron and Holly each draft fictional characters who best represent some aspect of their fathers, then switch and draft one character for each other's father. Hello listeners! This week we're drafting in honor of Gilbert Gottfried, so hopefully you're reading this description entirely in his voice. As before when there's been a celebrity death, we like to take a moment to think back on their career and the way they've influenced pop culture by drafting in a field or genre they're known for. In Gottfried's case, he was particularly known for his blue comedy so we decided to step on some rakes today and draft the dirtiest jokes ever told (or at least recorded!) So get ready for some awkwardness and some creative editing, then let us know which jokes you think did the best job walking the line between shock and comedy!

Hello listeners! We're two decade worth of television into this century, and that got us thinking what is the cream of the crop so far? But in What's On Draft fashion we also wanted to add a wrinkle to give us a little more diversity in our picks. So we're drafting the best TV shows of the 21st century, but the twist is once you take a show nothing else from that channel/network/streaming service/platform can be drafted. So if someone drafts the greatest show ever based on an insurance commercial about prehistoric humanoids in the modern era with 2007's Cavemen then all other ABC shows are off the table. Hello listeners; this week we're continuing to resolve our various technical issues that have been delaying episodes, but we've got one (barely) out in time for Oscars season for you here! We're doing a fantasy style draft of the Academy Award nominated films trying to grab the movies that will win the most awards, but we're putting a slight limitation on it - each nomination a film has counts for $1, and our teams of five cannot exceed a $20 budget, so a selection of The Power of the Dog in the first round would mean the drafter is putting 60% of their budget behind it. What's our strategy based on this rule? And which films do we think will make the most of their nominations? Listen in to find out!
