The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) launched an investigation into Providence Milwaukie under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act. The federal law ensures public access to emergency services regardless of a patient's ability to pay. Milwaukie police responded to a call on 12/12/2023. Hospital staff told the responding officers that a homeless man was discharged after receiving care, but refused to leave. The Milwaukie police released bodycam from the night of 12/12/2023 after a man died after being discharged and transported.

Providence Milwaukie in a statements says "we can do better", but weeks later a TriMet bus driver said he felt "forced" by guard at Providence Milwaukie Hospital to pick up woman in crisis.

After reviewing all the facts under our nose we have a lot to say, even our own experiences.

Hold those accountable within the community from Homelessness to Schools to Healthcare to the Federal Government.

History always repeats. Oregon has landed in the nation's highest homelessness rates. Number 4. Sara and Juel took 20 steps back, got involved, and trying to understand how the current local structure is handling the homeless crisis. The City of Portland, Multnomah County and the Joint Office of Homeless Services, has spent billions of dollars to try and solve the homeless crisis which they do not fully understand. Nor do they have a structured plan. We are failing the homeless and the public. We need to demand change.

We quickly changed our topic the day before our show as Sara and Juel learned about Four Disney employees were arrested in March 2022 in an undercover sex trafficking operation. Authorities arrested 108 people in a six-day undercover human trafficking operation in Florida. Among those arrested included four Disney employees and a retired judge. This lead us to review the United States Department of Justice press room. We need to come together to stop human trafficking.
