Usually to get to the NBA you have to go through College basketball to reach your goals. Recently however, other options have become increasingly more popular, with the most popular of these options being the NBA G-League and going to play overseas in other professional basketball leagues before joining the NBA. This week the “When the Lights Go Out” Podcast was hosted solely by Eli Elstein. However, due to the nature of the material covered in the “Response to Protests” podcast, we collectively thought that our own personal experiences would not give this subject the necessary perspective in order to fully explore the topic. As a result of this, Eli reached out to his good friend Branden in order to allow a Black American’s voice to be heard on this subject (keeping in mind that Branden cannot speak for every Black American, but is still a valuable voice that deserves to be heard.) Hello everyone! Today we will be looking at the first ever “When the Lights Go Out” Podcast. This episode was hosted by Mufaddal, with Monty and Eli on as the co-hosts. In this episode we explored the complex relationship between the MLB and the Dominican Republic, and why they represent such a large portion of the MLB’s player pool.
