Welcome to the first Not Just Bop Podcast of 2021 and Happy New Year!
This latest Podcast covers an update on what has already been a difficult start to the year in the education sector. Meg, Vic and Ellen, highlight the work they have been undertaking this week for the benefit of the student body. This includes a review of the 18-point recommendation document that was submitted to University Senior Management, focusing on key issues such as no detriment policies and rent as we enter Lockdown 3.
The focus then switches to the challenges of the Sabb roles and discussing the pending elections next month, where we shall be electing a new student officer team for 2021/22.

In today's episode Megan, Vic and Ellen take a look back at Freshers week and the effects of COVID-19 on arriving at University this year, take a look at the latest news and show some love to Student Union's across the land during these difficult and testing times as NUS launch their #LOVESU's campaign.

From, 'are the Student Union Elections just a popularity contest?', to, 'is all you do just create arguments!'. Our 'paid' officers (another myth busted!) give you an insight into such common misconceptions, whilst also keeping you updated on all things 'Student Union' as we rapidly approach the new academic year.
On this weeks 'Welfare Special', we welcome our Student Advisor, Rhian to discuss the fantastic work the Student Union has undertaken within the Welfare Zone over the past year, including the launch of our Advice Centre and how it can support you, whilst answering questions from students regarding accessing support. Megan, Vic and Ellen, then look back at some of the impactful welfare campaigns, that have proved such a success over the past academic year and how they impacted students. A real insight into the work carried out by the Student Union that often goes unnoticed.
In this weeks episode your SABB team take a look at the latest news such as the recent A'Level results situation this year, before discussing their very different personal transitions between A'Levels and University. To conclude the podcast, we respond to many questions that we received via our Instagram stories last week.
