Before listening to this episode, we recommend you watch the Hulu documentary titled "The Secrets of Hillsong". Most of our conversation revolves around our impressions of the documentary and our interpretation of how it affects the modern Christian church, and not in direct detail to the multitude of events surrounding the collapse of Hillsong Church.

For many years, Hillsong Church was an incredibly popular global megachurch, boasting an attendance of 150,000 people per week at multiple locations around the globe. Known for their vibrant worship music, which at points, charted on the Billboard 200, Hillsong was considered a "beacon of light" amongst many Christians, and it resonated with a generation seeking authenticity and a deeper connection with spirituality. That is until allegations of financial misconduct, sexual abuse of minors, and theological controversies erupted from within the church.

Join us, in episode 92 of the Wolf and Bull podcast, as we provide our opinion on the documentary from Hulu, "The Secrets of Hillsong". Joining us again in the studio is a friend of the Wolf and Bull podcast, Shawn a.k.a. "The Stingray", and he provides some unique insight on the documentary and how it affects the modern Christian church.

On June 8th, 2023, former President of the United States, Donald J. Trump was formally indicted by a federal grand jury in Miami. 37 felony counts have been filed against him, including charges related to mishandling classified documents, obstructing justice, and making false statements. The unsealed indictment alleges that Trump knowingly kept hundreds of classified government records at his Florida residence, and conspired to prevent their return to U.S. officials. This decision, obviously has very little to do with the news (also released on June 9th) of the current sitting President, Joe Biden, being accused of supposedly pocketing $5 million from Ukrainian energy company Burisma - per an FBI informant. It's totally unrelated, but incredibly ironic, since it circulated on the same day as well, LAS VEGAS ALIENS! They have arrived! We are not alone! This news actually stems from April 30th, 2023, but for some reason, also was heavily circulated via the mainstream media on June 9th.

Despite these wild events, one such event that's been seemingly "memory-holed" is the missing California - Wyoming train shipment. The one carrying over 60,000 pounds of Ammonium nitrate? The missing train being reported by the company that shipped the substance in the first place? An explosive manufacturing company called Dyno Nobel.

On April 24th, Tucker Carlson, and Don Lemon, two of the most polarizing political talking heads in News Media, left their respective propaganda machines within hours of each other. We're a little late to the party, but what does this mean for enterprise news media organizations going forward? More importantly, will this negatively impact the future of online Tucker Carlson/Don Lemon adult fan fiction?

The "Godfather" of Artificial Intelligence, Geoffrey Hinton has left his position at Google, claiming that artificial intelligence, and the companies moving forward with it, are "racing towards danger" with their moves to facilitate artificial intelligence-backed products and services. He's sounding the alarm, and seemingly regrets his lifelong work with A.I., but is anyone taking him seriously? We would like to think that our artificial intelligence-written poem, featured in this episode, has some serious legs.

Earl Nightingale once said, "When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself." Just because someone sees, experiences, or feels the world differently, doesn't mean that that perception is inherently wrong - it just means that it's different. Unfortunately, we're currently in a time when engaging in false virtue and narcissistic behavior is widespread, especially concerning marginalized groups. Individuals with difficult life experiences are "propped up" as signifiers or "tokens" to others of a group's inherent "correctness" and need for support, which equates to money, support, and power for the group - not the individual. Similarly, social media has allowed individuals to express themselves, opening up a door that was once closed to them: being genuinely understood, accepted, and supported. In some cases, it works. In many other cases, it doesn't; often marginalizing someone further by solidifying the box they may feel that they exist within - creating a caricature of who they are as a person.

If you're a fan of the Wolf and Bull podcast, you're likely aware of our heart for those around us who think, act, or experience the world differently than we do. The world is full of individuals with extremely unique experiences, that are valuable, worth listening to, and worthy of the highest levels of friendship and support. Unfortunately, they get lost in the noise from pop-culture arguments of who's "right" or "wrong".

In episode 89, we have an incredibly special guest joining us; Gabriel, a.k.a. G. Holiday to discuss his experience(s) when it comes to overcoming adversity, the creative writing that allowed for his publications, and the difficulties that life throws at you when you live with muscular dystrophy. G. Holiday is an incredibly intelligent, talented, and engaging individual, and we truly enjoyed the conversation that we had. We think you'll enjoy it as well!

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "Peace has victories, but it takes brave men and women to win them." Sacrifice is key to much of our history, society, and way of life - peace is only attainable if people are willing to strive for it. Peace is not normative and as much as we'd like to delude ourselves into believing this, nature shows us time and again that conflict, chaos, and disruption are the rules to existence - not the exceptions.

Ironically, conflict, chaos, and disruption require counterbalances to perpetuate the cycle of their existence. These counterbalances can take many forms, one of which is the brave men and women who choose to step up to the plate, be it through military expertise, disaster intervention, or human ingenuity. It takes bravery, discipline, and a willingness to put your life on the line for those around you, to perpetuate peace. Ultimately, it's a lifetime of sacrifice for those that strive to keep the peace.

In episode 88 of The Wolf and Bull, we had the pleasure of hosting Bradley Spencer, a military veteran, former wildland firefighter & paramedic, and owner of Saguaro Forge Co. Prior to our episode, we met Bradley and he gave us some insight into his incredible story - one of trial, tribulation, and overcoming. His family legacy is one built on sacrifice, service, and an appreciation for the principles upon which America was built. In this episode, we discuss Bradley's family legacy, his military service in Afghanistan, his experiences as a wildland firefighter, and his company Saguaro Forge Co. - a company he started to be closer with his family and his son who has special needs. Our discussion with Bradley was quite impactful, and it's clear that his personal journey - a journey full of great sacrifice, healing, and connection - is one that we think you'll love.

For many of us, America has become a road worn weary with the footsteps of those who came before us. We spend much time on our phones, watching TV, escaping into a video game, or mindlessly scrolling the internet searching for emotional stimulus. It almost seems that many of us never consider the world outside our front door.

Within the Great Outdoors lies a fascinating and essential part of our world. The vast and diverse landscape surrounding us provides sustenance, clean air, water, and even shelter. Research, published in January 2020 by Frontiers in Psychology, has shown that spending time in nature can reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, boost creativity, and increase energy levels. As little as ten minutes of sitting or walking in a diverse array of natural settings significantly and positively impacted defined psychological and physiological markers of mental well-being. Medical benefits exist as well. Being outdoors can improve cardiovascular health, and reduce the risk of a multitude of chronic diseases. Despite all of these benefits, our modern, and fast-paced lives often provide the perfect excuse to forget how important nature really is.

Joining us in episode 87 of the Wolf and Bull podcast is our friend and 2-time American Ninja Warrior National Finalist, Adventure Host, Wildlife Expert, and Conservationist, Anthony Porter. We had the pleasure of speaking with him about his experiences as an outdoor expert and professional athlete, how ethical and effective environmental initiatives can make the world a better place, and how venturing off the beaten path, onto a road less traveled, can benefit all of us.

For most of recorded history, humanity has been fascinated with the unknown. Our curiosity has led us to marvel at our surroundings, wonder at possibilities, and question our existence. For some, these questions led them to formulate various forms of theology; bringing purpose to life, structure to chaos, and control where there seemingly was none. For others, these questions pushed them into alternative areas of thought - areas that still required levels of belief in order to operate. 

Despite modern popular opinion, we believe that the sciences and the various theological positions available in America are equally legitimate in that they both play an important role in a healthy society. Much like with any system, it takes functional parts, functional purpose, and an ethical operator to ensure operational success. Over the last few decades, theology specifically, has suffered heavily from dysfunction and bad faith actors. 

Over the last few years, it seems as if the modern American church is failing. The number of people who affiliate with their local churches has declined steadily over the last few years, with the number of individuals who are considered "unaffiliated with any religion" consistently growing. According to a Pew Research study from 2020, about 36% of Christians attend religious services once a week. 

Over the last few years, America has been through some growing pains, which most of us, and likely a good amount of the world, has experienced. American society seems to be in a strange lull, with many experiencing high levels of apathy, frustration, and complacency. Organizational and traditional structures that were once considered universally important are now second-guessed, criticized, or forgotten. Systematic problems, presented by our cultural, political, and philosophical leaders are obviously the root of the problem, right? 

What if that's wrong? What if, we as a society have missed the problem entirely? Public Discourse, an online journal from the Witherspoon Institute, considers family to be the second pillar of a decent society, stating, "no other institution can top the family's ability to transmit what is pivotal - character formation, values, virtues, and enduring love - to each generation." They ask, "Where is dignity learned, self-restraint modeled, and caring demonstrated if not first from our mothers and fathers?" That's a good question. 

Janel Lamb, author of Bravery and Blinders and The Sheriff's Wife: Holding it all together behind the scenes in politics joins the Wolf and Bull in episode 85. We take the time to discuss her book(s) in detail, the traditional American values that we believe are needed to mend current social issues, and what it's like to raise and nurture a family in the political spotlight. It's an incredible conversation! Raising her family while her husband grew in the public eye of Law Enforcement and Politics has given Janel unique, insightful, and touching perspectives for those of us who have gone through trials, and those of us looking to cultivate and instill a positive outlook on life. We had a wonderful conversation and we truly appreciate Janel for joining us on the show and the Lamb family for the positive impact that they're making with their work, their beliefs, and their support of those around them.

Recently, Mr. Beast, Youtuber with over 131 million subscribers made a video titled "1,000 blind people see for the first time." The video itself performed quite well, yet was met with mixed reviews. Many people praised Mr. Beast and the video for the positive impact it made on 1,000 people's personal lives. Alternatively, others criticized the video proclaiming that Mr. Beast is "demonic" and that he exploits people for content since they believed he acts for financial gain. Unironically, the people who criticize Mr. Beast are likely critical of every facet of society that they don't personally like. If you turn the tables just a bit, their criticism becomes appreciation or worship. Our general question is this; why should they care? They're not friends with Mr. Beast nor any of the public servants, celebrities, or individuals that they appreciate so much, yet their criticisms seem to attack the ethical nature of an individual whom they don't know, who's running a business. Could this be some strange byproduct of parasocial relationships, virtue signaling, or society's unhealthy relationship with public figures? We'll talk about that in this episode.

Recently, a company owned by Supply Chain Digital called Resilinc released a report revealing that the top driver of supply chain disruption in 2022 was factory fires. In 2022, there were 3,609 fire alerts, an 85% year-on-year increase, which is the most ever recorded in a single year. Resilinc has determined that the causes were labor disruptions and inexperience. In addition to the supply chain issues, a recent observation about the quality of chicken feed has popped up on social media. Many individuals have started questioning whether the feed companies have altered their product to stop backyard hens from laying eggs, thus driving up demand for commercial eggs, or to cause people to switch to plant-based alternatives. Both of these issues sound wild to us, so we'll make sure to cover them as well!

A 2010 study from the Illinois News Bureau discovered that nearly 70% of Amazon reviews of true-crime books are by women. In 2018, ABC's annual podcast survey revealed that 44% of podcast listeners, listened to true crime in the past month, up from 30% in 2017. The study was strong with women in particular, with their percentage of listening increasing by 15 percentage points. True crime has become a popular genre in recent years, with many drawn to the mystery, suspense, and drama of real-life crimes. However, this interest in true crime has also led to some serious problems.

It may seem as if we're paying attention to one side of the aisle here; we are. Specifically, because the true crime genre has such a heavy hold on the female demographic. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, it's entertainment after all. Does the genre as a whole have a net-negative effect on society though?

Do the side effects of online bullying, false accusations, hyperbolic positions, and perpetrator idolization justify the entertainment? Not every true crime story incorrectly analyzes its respective case; there are many that do an excellent job. With the rise in popularity, matched with the increase in creative discussion, it would be foolish to assume that "liberties" aren't taken.

In episode 83 of the Wolf and Bull podcast, we explore the ways in which the true crime genre can be problematic, discussing how it can impact the people involved in the crimes, society as a whole, and its most significant listening demographic: women. Baewolf provides some excellent perspectives since she is a true crime fan! 

Escapism refers to the act of withdrawing from reality or everyday life by engaging in activities or hobbies that allow one to escape mentally or physically. This can include activities like watching movies or TV, playing sports, reading a book, or in Baewolf and Wolf's case, video games... especially Stardew Valley.  

Stardew Valley is a farming simulation RPG that was created by American Indie game designer Eric Barone, under the alias of ConcernedApe and originally titled Sprout Valley. It's a charmingly creative, and very addictive game that challenges the player to restore their farm to its former glory, while also building relationships with other residents of the valley. As much as we enjoy the game, and we do, our engagement with Stardew Valley has us questioning the impacts that escaping into gaming can have on one's life; both positive and negative.

Diet Culture. Fat acceptance. Both of these systems of belief focus on the same things: subjective, and often extreme, relationships with health and food. Despite their supposed differences, both of these ideologies tend to focus on body image and self-esteem, albeit in very different ways. Ironically enough, and despite the objections from those affiliated, we would argue they also try to address problems surrounding self-improvement. Does either worldview really have a truly positive impact though?

The new year has come and gone, ushering in another January spike of Americans attempting to "get in shape" at the local gyms. The International Health Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) reported that, due to New Year Resolutions, gym memberships increase by around 12.1% in January. While this is an incredibly good idea, if it's truly committed to, the data associated seems to paint an unfortunate story. As of 2018, 6.3% of Americans spend an estimated $1.8 billion on gym memberships, only to never use them (via Finder.com). In 2019, Hustle reported that 63% of memberships go completely unused, 82% of members go to the gym less than once per week, and 22% completely stop going after 6 months. 

Simultaneously, according to data from the General Social Survey in 2020, American "happiness" has ranked at an all-time low, since the survey began in 1972. In arguably the wealthiest time in all of human history, we as Americans seem to be the unhappiest. Why? There must be a correlation, and we think it could do with how we're treating ourselves, which impacts how we treat others.

In this episode, we discuss body image, personal image, the problem with New Year Resolutions, and how it's possible to make a change for a healthier and happier version of yourself. John F. Kennedy will forever be remembered as the 35th President of the United States of America. He was charming, he was intelligent, he was incredibly well-liked, and he was taken from this world by terrible tragedy. It has been nearly 60 years since his assassination, leaving many unanswered questions, and to this day, the details leading up to his death remain a mystery. Where there are questions, conspiracy theories abound, and there has been plenty of conspiracies pushed forward that attempt to reveal the truth.

Many of you know the basics; Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman, 3 or 4 shots were fired, the grassy knoll, etc. The unfortunate reality is that, despite the findings from The Warren Commission, much of the investigation was bungled, mishandled, or outright given to a singular entity that has been suspected of playing a part in conducting the assassination. Whether that's true or not has yet to be determined, but what is obvious, is that many things went terribly wrong to allow for such a tragic event to transpire. 

In episode 79, we discussed The Conspiracy Chart and we touched briefly on the JFK assassination, one of the most recognized tragedies in American history. In episode 80, we're diving headfirst into the JFK Assassination. We'll provide background, and discuss the problems associated with the investigation, mysterious deaths, and the many conspiracies surrounding the ill-fated event. Buckle up your listening or viewing seatbelts, because we dive right into the assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy in this episode!

To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of today." - Theodore Roosevelt 

Don't look at us... good old Teddy Roosevelt said it first in 1913. For clarification, we don't often agree with conspiracy theories here at the Wolf and Bull. Too many of them are difficult, if not impossible, to prove. The quote above, inferring an "invisible" government (which goes by a different name today - rhymes with "steep date") is one that makes us scratch our heads though. Was Teddy appealing to popular opinion at the time? Was he letting normies in on the game? Who knows? 

We know that conspiracy theories hinge on the idea of "what is most probable." The problem with this is that "probable" is subjective to many people. In 2021, The Conspiracy Chart was published by Abbie Richards. It's a wonderful little upside-down triangle that acts as a guard dog against misinformation, by using news articles & pseudo interest groups to categorize the various "levels" of conspiracy theories.  

In episode 79 of the Wolf and Bull podcast, the team discusses The Conspiracy Chart and appeals to authority arguments that coincide with it. Additionally, we touch briefly on the recent documents released concerning the John F. Kennedy assassination.

The defining identity of America, first formulated by Thomas Jefferson includes liberty, equality, justice, and humanity. America was founded on revolutionary ideals, transcendental ideology, and a commitment to what was believed to be the ultimate form of freedom. This worldview over the decades trickled into all areas of American culture, from business to entertainment, to religion. American culture and ingenuity are fueled by the desire to be great, a desire that we should never let burn out. 

Unfortunately, that desire to be great has been replaced by a desire for safety and comfort. Over the last few years, numerous small businesses and livelihoods were decimated. Be it through sickness, social choices, or government-caused economic disaster, unilateral decisions were made by the unaffected which restricted innovation, quality of service, achievement, and norms - be it social or economic. Many of these problems were caused by bureaucratic inefficiencies, unforeseeable events, and tragedy. Ultimately, the true magnitude of these decisions has yet to be fully understood. Time will tell.

Control. The magical word that many so desperately cling to in order to establish some level of personal comfort, power, or leverage. Governments across the world consistently strive for more control. Corporations strive for market control, and as of late, consumer control. Even individuals participate in trying to control others by imposing their worldviews, ideologies, and positions on those around them. This happens on all sides of the spectrum, despite ideology or political identity. Many advocates of control tend to align their insidious positions with the ideas of a broadly supported way of thinking; be it conservative or progressive. Both ideologies want to advance society in different ways and thus operate as a perfect guise for those who have the intent to manipulate. 

Society has developed soft ways to establish control. One of those strategies is through our credit reporting system. Imposing different guidelines with associated punishments for guideline violation has effectively created the perfect way to enforce levels of control in modern culture. Granted, not everything to do with the credit system is bad; in fact, a lot of it is established in data, verifiable facts, and has benefitted many individuals' lives in positive ways. That doesn't mean systems like that don't engage in discriminatory action though, especially as systems like credit evolve to include useless, and quite subjective metrics enforced by hordes of bureaucracy.

Join the Wolf, the Bull, and Baewolf in episode 77 as they dive into the history of credit and the Social Credit System that many countries have and will likely impose. It's a great episode and we think it provides some fascinating insight into the rules that much of American society currently, and may potentially, abide by in the future. 

Christmas is the most festive time of year, filled with joy, laughter, family, and holiday cheer. The holiday season is supposed to be a time for everyone to enjoy those around them and the time they spend together. As Dr. Seuss once said, "Christmas will always be as long as we stand heart to heart and hand in hand." 

Despite all of its holiday charm, Christmas also tends to be a time when people make poor judgment calls, often resulting in personal harm and even crime. One of the top crimes during the holiday season is theft, in which opportunistic thieves steal packages left on porches, doorsteps, and within mailboxes. What happens though, when Christmas crime elevates from petty theft to something worse, like assault, manslaughter, or murder?

Episode 76 is a special episode, one in which the Wolf and the Bull team up with the boys from Strange Brew Podcast to discuss Christmas, Crime, and Murder. We discuss in detail the Marvellous Keene Murder Spree, otherwise known as the 1992 Christmas killings that occurred in Dayton, Ohio. We also cover the Wholaver Murders, which occurred in December 2002. We touch on the murder of Alan Williamson, which was committed by Melissa Young, a woman who claimed that during the murder, she was possessed by a heavenly spirit. We also cover the gruesome murder committed by Alexis Valdez on Christmas day in 2013. Additionally, Tom and Anton cover a myriad of incredibly disturbing Christmas crimes worthy of discussion, but not for the faint of heart. Tune in now to hear more! 

The world is a changing place, and with technology moving in consistently fluid ways, there's almost no way to keep up. As technology progresses forward, corporations, governments, and ultimately, societies, must find ways to adapt. Unfortunately, many of these "adaptations" have the potential to come at the expense of personal freedoms. Hyperbole aside, corporate America has gone through some concerning transitions over the last few years. Many of these decisions have been made, seemingly, without consideration of future optics or implications. Ranging from invasiveness in relation to the medical autonomy of employees to downright discrimination, it appears relatively clear that corporate America may need to evaluate its priorities... especially with future government litigation constantly on the horizon. Our bureaucracy-filled corporate future is one that is entirely dependent on agreement in addition to coercion.

Since the 1950s, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been a burgeoning ideology that many American institutions have adopted wholly. Why wouldn't they? Everything sounded perfect on paper, and it effectively solidifies a positive perception from the American public, right? What happens though, when Corporate Social Responsibility goes too far and engages in discriminatory practice? What happens when the government decides it's time to take it a step further? Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) is the "next step" in further politicizing corporate America. Whereas CSR has its limitations, ESG doesn't, and the future implications, which might sound good on paper, could also be absolutely catastrophic.

Humanity tends to forecast what the future will be, sometimes, with striking accuracy. Pop culture predictions from the Simpsons and Back To The Future have eerily striking accuracy. On the contrary, the speculative, and mostly hyperbolic, Nostradamus-like predictions are a dime a dozen, popularized for the sake of your dollar or voting preference.  What if some of the predictions of the future turn out to be true? What happens, when our bodies escape the natural barriers imposed by them at birth? Will we achieve immortality? 

With the interest in transhumanism at an all-time high, humanity has already eclipsed many mortal barriers once thought to be impossible, and it's likely we'll continue to do so in the name of science. Will the idea of Longevity Escape Velocity become a reality? Originally coined by biogerontologist Aubrey de Grey in a 2004 paper, the concept of Longevity Escape Velocity has been around since 1970, with Robert Anton Wilson's essay "Next Stop, Immortality". Also known as Actuarial Escape Velocity, L.E.V. is a hypothetical situation in which one's remaining life expectancy (not life expectancy at birth) is extended longer than the time that's passing. It's quite a fascinating subject!

Valedictorian of his training class, Rookie of the year, Officer of the year, Detective of the Year, the 24th Sheriff of Pinal County, and a man known for his "fear not, do right" attitude, the Honorable Sheriff Mark Lamb returns to the Wolf and Bull podcast for another excellent discussion in episode 73! Sheriff Lamb has been quite busy, speaking openly and earnestly about the problems that fentanyl poses to the United States of America, and his message is one of hope despite its sensitive nature.

Sheriff Lamb has been featured on Fox News, NewsMax, and Live PD, and he regularly attends events around the country to speak publicly. 

His newest book, "American Sheriff: Rules to Life By" further exemplifies his message of hope and provides the reader with a " clear path to your real purpose in life and the courage to make the necessary changes." In episode 73 of the Wolf and Bull, we discuss Sheriff Lambs' book(s), the fentanyl issues in the country, voting season, and the staggering effect censorship has on our society. According to some statistics, over 70% of American adults are either overweight or obese. In 2018, according to the US Census Bureau, an estimated 253,768,092 American adults, 18 years or older, reportedly lived in the United States or Puerto Rico. If the aforementioned stats are true, potentially 177,637,664 people could be considered overweight. That's astonishing.

Ancel Keys was influential in the proliferation of BMI in the medical industry, publishing the "Indices of Relative Weight and Obesity" in a July 1972 edition of the Journal of Chronic Diseases. This led to the widespread adoption of BMI as a health metric. Ironically enough, Ancel Keys also played a pivotal role in advising how Americans chose to eat for decades, leading to the dysfunctional relationship many of us have with food today. By demonizing food with natural fats, while providing unhealthy alternative foods filled with trans fats and sugar, the food and medical industries, intentionally or unintentionally, paved the way for the problems of obesity that we experience today.

Happy Halloween! It's officially the spookiest day of the year, and in celebration, we're providing the second part of "Disturbing Fairy Tales from The Brothers Grimm!" Whether you believe Halloween to be an evil holiday or not, the fact that it's celebrated indicates how similar it is, at its core, to other popular holidays. Every holiday relies upon society's ability to tell and fascination with what we believe to be relevant and entertaining stories. The power that a stories hold on our minds is, in many ways, fascinating and terrifying.

The world is hauntingly magical, full of wonders, spectacularly spooky stories, and the mysterious unknown. For as much as we claim, we don't know nearly as much as we think that we do. Despite advancements in technology and society, one thing remains true; we all appreciate a good story. 

Spooky season. Samhain. Halloween. Pagan season. Whatever you proclaim this time of year to be (specifically the end of October), we're entering into, once again, the time of year when we appreciate a culmination of good "stories". Disturbing stories, unfortunately, happen to be at the forefront of most of our minds at this time of year, and it adds a "spookiness" to the ordinary. Oddly enough, many of the fairy tales that we grew up with as kids are not as innocent and happy as we may believe them to be.

That's why, for part one of this Halloween-Esque episode, (officially episode 70!) we've decided to introduce a new guest, The Sloth, to discuss The Brothers Grimm and the "grim" origin of their fairy tales collection. We'll cover the history of The Brothers Grimm and the tales of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White. Additionally, we also discuss the strange, out-of-body experience, that is the story of Pinocchio. We do hope you join us and we can't wait to share part two with you on Halloween!

For the better half of almost 200 hundred years, overpopulation and the risks associated have been wedged into the psyche of modern society. From the time that we were children, the alarm bells over "too many people, not enough [insert noun here]" has echoed chillingly. In pop culture, movies like Soylent Green, Wall-E, Elysium, Kingsman: The Secret Service, The Purge, Avengers: Endgame, and even Godzilla: King of the Monsters have the underlying message of overpopulation immersed within their respective, and fictional, worlds. Celebrities, politicians, prominent scientists, and nearly every influential figurehead has repeated the overpopulation mantra, in unison, without any loud semblance of criticism. What if they're all wrong?

Over the last decade, despite the alarmist narratives of overpopulation, questions regarding those respective narratives have begun to arise. Why? Purely because recent statistics on procreation have echoed an opposite position. Data, quotable, reference-able, testable data points, have all begun to imply that the opposite may be true: that the world's population will grow, peak, and then inevitably, and quite quickly, shrink. 

For humanity to continue to exist, there must be a minimum child fertility rate of 2.1%. This number, not only accounts for eventual adults who can't have children, but also for those that pass away beforehand. If we sustain a fertility rate below 2.1%, it is entirely plausible that humanity extinguishes itself, with nothing more than a whimper.

The "state of being neutral or of being unengaged in a dispute or contest between others" may truly be an impossibility. Whether that's the case or not, does it mean that there should be no attempt to utilize neutrality to our benefit? In times of dire moral circumstances, neutrality may not be the best choice. Of course, history is written by the victor, and hindsight is always 20/20. In our modern society, the very idea of being neutral seemingly is conflated with weakness, apathy, and in some extreme cases, prejudice and evil. Is that entirely true though? Radical messages do require radical abandon and radical people to push those messages. 

In episode 68 of the Wolf and Bull, the team discusses the idea of neutrality, and whether the act of engaging in it is truly an impossibility. Human nature would suggest that neutrality is difficult, but is it truly unreachable, improbable, or evil? Tune in now to find out!

Time is a silly little marvelous thing that we as humans spend more time considering as we age, or so we should. Time, if condensed down to singular moments, can accurately add up to the exact amount of moments you have left to spend with loved ones, near or far. Time is one of existence's constants, a looming precipice of truth, inescapable, and unavoidable. So far, time is impending, inevitable, and immovable. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have; only you can determine how it will be spent." But is time even a "real" thing?

In episode 67, the Wolf, Bull, and Baewolf finally tackle one of the "constant" themes of the podcast, that seems to linger in and amongst each episode: time. The concept of time is incredibly complex, somewhat of a mind-bender, and a subject worth exploring. So, sit down, pour yourself a cocktail (or mock-tail), and join us as we discuss the concept of time, and whether it "exists" or "doesn't". 

American Football. One of the greatest sports that has ever been created. Football has been around for a long time, with the first "match" occurring between two college teams, Rutgers, and Princeton, on November 6th, 1869. The National Football League is currently on track to rake in $25 billion, which can be directly related to the decisions and changes made by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, whether you like him or not. With all the success and growth that the NFL has experienced, are recent and upcoming changes beneficial to the sport itself, or are they signaling to future problems? As (Fantasy) Football junkies themselves, the Wolf and Bull regularly enjoy a good football "match" and had the pleasure of hosting Blythe Brumleve on the show to discuss the interesting future ahead of the NFL, recent changes that the Jacksonville Jaguars have faced over the years, as well as the impact that social media has had on the players.

According to some, neutrality is a myth; either you're for the "team" or you're against it. Polarization has become increasingly prevalent, and it could be logical to infer that almost anything can, and will, at some point, become polarized. Polarization and tribalism seem to be a tendency of human nature, especially as social media stokes the figurative fires of culture. Unfortunately, this results in polarizing forms of thought not designed for logical consistency.

This brings us to everyone's favorite topic: religion.  Bias aside, religion is a form of explaining something in a way that we deem more effective than any alternative. The same can be said for the sciences. Equating the sciences in their purest form, to religions in their purest form, whatever that may mean to you, can be a false comparison. Science is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe. Religion is a social-cultural system of designated behaviors and practices, morals, beliefs, worldviews, and more, that generally relates humanity to the supernatural, transcendental, and spiritual elements. To many, they're not designed to be the same, nor are they supposed to be collaborative, but why? Is it out of the question to analyze whether they've merged? Can the two coexist harmoniously, or do we have an inability to separate our bias from either? Can one's religion be another's science and vice versa?

Join the Wolf, Bull, and Baewolf in episode 65 as we discuss the merit of whether the Sciences, and religion(s) have become tainted by human nature through dogmatic ideology, and intentionally divisive views. The point of this episode is not to champion one over the other, but to merely observe that the human mind tends to accept whichever school that it prescribes, as universally true. We think that's a problem, and surely, is anything but scientific or religious.

Sometimes the key to what we desire most lies within our way of thinking. Cynicism has a way of clouding our decision-making and effectiveness and similarly, out-of-control positivity can have the same effect. Our society is flooded with cynical and ultra-positive extremes, which disguises what it means to be an optimist or a realist. Both of these worldviews are not mutually exclusive, and if managed correctly, can be complementary.

The Enlightenment represented a break from the superstitious and tyrannical traditions of the medieval past, and in episode 64, the Wolf, Bull, and Baewolf explore what it would mean if the principles of the Enlightenment were to impose a break from the misguided and tyrannical views of the present and future. Could reevaluating society's current ideals and molding them with the positive ideals from the Enlightenment provide us with a positive future? Could the keys to social advancement be found in the ideas of Immanuel Kant, John Locke, Voltaire, and Rene Descartes? Tune in to find out!

America is changing. It always has, and it likely always will. The country that we love is adjusting to the needs and desires of its current citizenry, and in most cases, that's a wonderful thing. The idea of gradualism, otherwise known as creeping normality, is a process by which a significant change can be accepted as normal and acceptable if it happens slowly through small, often unnoticeable, increments of change. By its very nature, gradualism is neither positive nor negative; merely just the holistic nature of change.

What happens when gradualism is artificially created though? Is it still gradualism, or is it forced evolution? According to Jared Diamond, author of Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed, disaster doesn't happen with a bang, but more so with a whimper. Death by a thousand cuts, otherwise known as Lingchi, describes the disaster we may be experiencing perfectly.

William Henry Gates III is just a simple, regular, multi-billionaire-tech-giant-philanthropist-extraordinaire. He's an average guy, the Co-Founder of Microsoft, and a savvy and shrewd businessman to the impressive tune of a measly net worth of $112.4 billion. He's just like you, and the more you think that that's the case, the happier he is. Bill Gates and people like him desire power, and with power comes influence, and from the outside looking in, that's not all that bad, is it? He originally started as a tech wiz kid, and now he's the philanthropist of our time. None of those decisions were carefully curated by a marketing team and absolutely none are disingenuous. After all, there's no way of knowing is there? 

Episode 62 of the Wolf and Bull podcast is quite a special episode indeed. We've teamed up with Tom and Anton from The Strange Brew Podcast! to discuss Bill Gates and how his social perception has potentially slid into Mandela Effect territory. Whether that's by design or by accident, we may never know, but what we do know is that the boys from The Strange Brew Podcast! are quite a bundle of insight and fun! Listener beware, our conversation strays just a tad from the main topic, but we find a way to wrangle it under control to provide you with a thought-provoking episode.

Reality TV is television programming that documents purportedly unscripted real-life situations, often starring unfamiliar people, rather than professional actors... supposedly. Almost as old as the television medium itself, reality tv became recognized as a distinct genre in the early 1990s with shows such as The Real World and reached true popularity in the early to mid-2000s with shows like Survivor, The Amazing Race, and American Idol. Despite its mass popularity within entertainment, reality television has an interestingly impactful effect on modern society, making it a fascinating facet of culture that we have yet to fully realize... once you get past the strangely Orwellian nature of it that is.

Not, in any possible way, a very boring and stressful government entity that is more prone to take your hard-earned money, than bring you happiness. 

Episode 60! We made it! Join the Wolf and Bull team as they discuss the recent passing of the Inflation Reduction Act, and how that may impact the average joe. There seems to be a lot of "downplay" from the powers that be with this one, and when that occurs, it's always best to investigate for yourself! We also discuss the history of the IRS, a few common taxation misconceptions, and our opinions related to the general topic of taxation. The goal though is to make sure YOU, our listener, come to your conclusions about the discussion. 

In episode 59 of the Wolf and Bull podcast, the team had the pleasure of speaking with Mark Joslyn, author of the impactful book The Gun Gap: The Influence of Gun Ownership on Political Behavior and Attitudes and Professor of Political Science at the University of Kansas. Author of over 50 journal articles featured in The American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Public Opinion Quarterly, and more, Professor Joslyn brings a bevy of information worthy of analysis and discussion. In this episode, we discuss how his book displays compelling evidence that we should classify gun owners as a distinct group when measuring political behavior. We also discuss how the "gun gap" captures the difference between legal gun owners and non-owners, and how accounting for that gap improves conventional behavioral and attitudinal models in political science.

Chemtrails (or contrails, depending on your opinion), have been a topic of discussion since the mid-1990s, and have been hotly debated ever since.

By definition, "fake news" is "untruthful-on-purpose stories... which have a purpose of misleading the reader to think one way."

The phrase "don't be evil" was used in Google's code of conduct before 2015; now their motto is "do the right thing" and now an internal chatbot technology coined LaMDA could be sentient according to a veteran Google engineer, proving once again that maybe, just maybe, the Wolf has predicted the future. We are in a simulation, and maybe the singularity has happened. Who knows?
