FROM HOBART MARKETS TO INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGNS

FROM HOBART MARKETS TO INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGNS

I sat down with the remarkable Creative Director Rachel of Francesca Collections, one of Australia's most beloved jewellery brands. In this conversation, we delve into the fascinating journey of a young entrepreneur who started her jewellery venture at just 14 years old and turned it into a thriving, socially conscious business empire.

Rachel, whose entrepreneurial spirit ignited at the Salamanca Market in Hobart, embarked on an extraordinary path that would define her future. She and her sister Hannah began selling jewellery at this iconic market, laying the foundation for what would become Francesca Collections.

Taking a bold step, she decided to take a gap year after high school to fully immerse herself in the jewellery business. Little did she know that this decision would lead her down a path she would never leave. Ten years later, Francesca Collections boasts two thriving stores in Hobart and Melbourne, a robust online presence, and a brand-new headquarters in Hobart. What's more, the company has grown to employ over 60 talented women who are passionate about the brand's mission.

Rachel is not just a visionary leader; she's also a self-taught photographer and graphic designer. She is the creative eye behind the brand's stunning campaigns, which have taken her to locations as far-flung as Bali and Italy. Most recently, she directed the mesmerizing Mother's Day campaign that captivated audiences around the world.

Francesca Collections is not just about jewellery; it's about giving back and empowering women in business. Rachel is deeply passionate about these causes, and she champions them through the brand's various awareness initiatives. For her and her team, one of the core values is clear: "Success means nothing unless you are giving back."

In this engaging conversation, we'll delve into the origins of Francesca Collections, the challenges she faced along the way, and her unwavering commitment to making a difference in the world. Prepare to be inspired by the incredible journey of a young entrepreneur who turned a passion for jewellery into a thriving business that empowers women and gives back to the community.

140kgs, sleeping in her car to the “Proud” owner of a 7 FIGURE business in 12 months.

140kgs, sleeping in her car to the “Proud” owner of a 7 FIGURE business in 12 months.

On today’s episode Em interviewed the amazing Tara. A 34 years young, mother of one 2.5 year old son Brodie, wife to Paul. An emergency nurse by trade, who left her "stable career" just over 12 months ago and took the leap into the small business/ entrepreneuer world and launched her business Proud Poppy Clothing.

After reaching a weight of 140kg, squeezing into size 22 she realised that she had lost so much of "who she was" with her weight gain simply because she couldnt find clothes that were affordable or that fit. Speaking to her size 6 friends she soon realised that they had similar issues and were forced to shop in the childrens sections. There was such a huge gap in the fast fashion market for affordable clothing for all women. No matter the size of your waist or wallet, there were practically no stores where all women could shop together and feel welcomed. Someone had to fill this gap!

As her maternity leave came to an end it was a now or never kind of moment and she just said "stuff it I'm going to do this". She had no bloody idea what she was doing. But she had the passion and the work ethic to push forward and now just over 12 months later Proud Poppy Clothing ships to customers not only all over Australia, but all over the world.

She’s now lost the weight, but she hasn’t lost the dream or focus of building this beautiful brand. She has literally worked her way up from rock bottom, sleeping in her car, not being able to afford to buy food to running a successful 7 figure business. She has a gorgeous community of over 35 thousand likeminded, fashion loving supportive women across Facebook and Instagram. Absolutely pun intended - She is so Proud of what she has created and cant wait to share it with you!

How A Mama Of Two Created Half A Million Dollars In 2 years During Nap Times.

How A Mama Of Two Created Half A Million Dollars In 2 years During Nap Times.

On this episode I interview the incredible Tracey Batt owner of Adventure Snacks. Tracey is a busy mum of 2 young boys and a loving wife who started Adventure Snacks at the end of 2014. With what started as her own range of handmade organic baking mixes which sold mostly at farmers markets around Perth & then worked her way into some IGA stores, Tracey started her business with a passion that saw her create healthier snack options for kids, when there wasn't a lot back then!  In 2016 Tracey was awarded an AusMumpreneur award for Business Excellence. In 2017 she started adding a few complimentary products to the store, that went with the lunchbox theme. Tracey started with Yumbox as her son used them, and slowly added more brands very organically! By early 2018 after her second son was born Tracey had made the decision to stop making her mixes and focus solely on growing her Ecommerce store and you guessed it, she has never looked back! Tracey impressively reached six figures in sales in the first 8 months of focusing on Ecommerce and have more than doubled her revenue this financial year compared to last, bringing the total sales to over half a mission dollars in just 2 years. All while running the business in her little ones nap times. This incredible success story is one, not to be missed! https://www.adventuresnacks.com.au/ Want to take your business to the next level?
