Episode 12: You are Worthy + Badass with Justine Wiggins

Hi, Queens! We're back this week to discuss confidence in a new city and in your 20s, if you can really reinvent yourself when you move, and some of the ways we deal with our insecurities. We also speak to Justine Wiggins, the founder of Worthy + Badass, a local Charlotte online business and pop-up shop that sells jewelry, keychains and more with the mission to remind her audience that they are, well, worthy and badass (*Interview starts at 13:25*)! Justine tells us how she got started, what drives her mission, her favorite pieces to buy right now and more.

Episode 9: Educating Ourselves about Race in Charlotte

Episode 9: Educating Ourselves about Race in Charlotte

Hi, Queens. This episode, we are discussing the recent events that have occurred in Minnesota and the events that have occurred across the country, including in Charlotte, for years. As a white person and a white-passing person, we will never understand what it is like to be Black in America. However, we're committed to owning our part in the problem, and to owning our part in the problem as it relates to Charlotte. And we're committed to changing this podcast moving forward to highlight more diverse female voices and perspectives from communities outside of our bubble. As new residents of Charlotte who want to be change makers, it's important we stay informed on not only the latest news, but what has happened in this city before we got here. It's embarrassing that it took us so long to do so, but we're here and we want to be part of this community and this conversation. This is just the first step.

We also discuss other ways to make new friends, even in the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, we do a fun little BFF Q&A that got a leeeeeeetle emotional (in a good way).

BONUS EPISODE: The Bachelorette, Zoom Edition feat. Sam

What's up, Queens? In this weird "new normal" we're living, Zoom and FaceTime dates are more common than ever. Kayla was super inspired by the On The Rocks podcast, where the host recorded her Zoom date during quarantine. With permission, Kayla recorded a Zoom date of her own with Sam, a guy she met on Hinge! They talked about everything, from the biggest mistakes people make on dating apps to the best first date spots in the Queen City! Listen to find out how it went.

Episode 6: Mindfulness in Times of Change and Beyond with Meaghan Dunham

Hey, Queens! On this episode, we talk about how we dealt with the biggest change of our lives (aka moving to Charlotte), all of the anxiety that came with it, and how we got through it. We also have a special interview with Charlotte-based mindful marketing coach and certified yoga instructor, Meaghan Dunham, where we discussed how to make change less scary through mindfulness, how to incorporate self care into our daily lives and more.

Meaghan's Instagram accounts: @meaghan.m.dunham and @meaghandunhamcreative

Please be sure to leave a rating and review on Apple Podcasts, subscribe, and share with your friends!

Because today is the last Friday in April, we will be going back to our bi-monthly schedule for May as Kayla has a new job and Emily started a new role in her job. So, we will see you in two weeks (unless Kayla finds someone willing to record a Zoom date beforehand - stay tuned!!)

Love you, queens! Thanks for all the support.
