Welcome to Ethereum Audible!
This week is the first episode of a new podcast we're launching: Ethereum Audible, where I’ll be reading the papers, research and articles of the Ethereum ecosystem.
Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/2QFr1GJjynogvNhidkoFl4?si=V0e6uLqgSfmY3X9YwdEdTA
Listen on Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/il/podcast/ethereum-audible/id1590744686
Why am I doing this?
The web 3 rabbit hole is a real things and I’ve been fascinated by it over the past few years. But I’ve yet to find a good resource out there that dives in depth into the great papers, research and thought leadership out there on the Ethereum ecosystem. And now is the time to explore it. The Ethereum ecosystem is gearing up for some massive changes over the coming months; Layer 2 scaling, the merge of the proof of stake and proof of work chain and eventually sharding.
It’s tough to tell what’s fake and what’s not, so I’ll be reading the best in Ethereum so that you can decide.

The startup playbook for building in public with Michelle Marcelline
Michelle is the co founder of Typedream, a simply amazing website builder that I’ve been using recently. While Typedream is fantastic, if you read Michelle’s Twitter thread for how their team founded Typedream, it wasn’t all smooth sailing: they started out with Govest, which turned into a new company, Cotter, which eventually led to Typedream.
Michelle's been sharing the Typedream journey in great Twitter threads and that's the subject we dive into in our discussion: why she shares what she shares, how building in public is another co-founder, the reasons behind it, time allocation and why some things don't get shared.

SaaS engineering & having fun with Alex Oppenheimer
Alex Oppenheimer is the Founder at Verissimo Ventures, an early stage venture fund. Alex has been involved in the financial world since he traded stocks in the 90s as a pre-teen and was part of the team that took Facebook public at Morgan Stanley.
I wanted to chat with Alex about his learning journey in investing - the lessons he’s learned along the way, what a degree in mechanical engineering has to do with investing and what his thoughts are in general about learning experiences - what matters and what doesn’t. Alex has spent a good chunk of time in completely different learning environments - whether internships, summer jobs, college or Yeshiva - which I’ll call a form of higher education for Jewish religious studies - and in retrospect that has formed his opinion on his previous experiences. Enjoy

Market research with Dr. Maria Blekher
Dr. Maria Blekher. is the founding director of the innovation lab and a Clinical Associate Professor at the Sy Syms School of Business, Yeshiva University
I wanted to interview Maria because the topic she teaches - an innovation lab and applied market research are topics that are exactly at the intersection of practical and theoretical.
The topic of teaching students at universities these skills, and the challenge of teaching theoretical knowledge in a way that can be applied is something that I’m incredibly interested in and her experience can shed a fresh perspective on what works and what doesn’t.
From here to there we discussed why market research is so important but easy to get wrong and the difference between Israeli and American university students.
Dr. Blekher's 'Go to' resources for market research:
1) Applied Market Research on Alpe Audio
2) The Right It: Why so many ideas fail and how to make sure yours succeeds
3) The Mom test
4) The Mom Test book club on Alpe Audio

Helen Gottstein: The power of listening in public speaking
Helen is an executive communications coach at Loud and Clear training and a consultant and lecturer. I’ve wanted to interview Helen for a while actually simply because I’ve seen her work her magic ‘live’.
In our conversation you'll learn and hear about:
- The power of being vulnerable in public speaking
- Being in tune with your students and audience
- Why being able to bring your point home is so important
