Black Lives Matter - Special Episode
I am honored to be joined by special guest, Alia Callum who is speaking on her experiences as a person of color growing up in a predominantly white area, and what she is doing to address racism in her school and community.
Love Avoidance, Love Addiction
In Episode 8 I'll be introducing you to concepts of functional, enmeshed, and neglect in our parent/child attachments as a preface to our (ongoing) discussion about how we show up in our adult relationships. Starting with our focus on parent or caregiver/child relationships isn't about placing blame or scapegoating. It's about exploring the impact of whatever the best our parent(s) or caregiver(s) had to give us throughout our formative years (0-18) and how we carry that with us, even as we are learning to functionally re-parent ourselves.
Boundaries and Trust
In this episode we'll be talking about the different types of external and internal boundaries that we all have; emotional walls as barriers to intimacy (into-me-you-see); and what it means to TRUST.
EMD - what?
Thank you lovely humans for tuning into another episode of Your Full Life Podcast with Dana Strickland LPC. In this episode, we are continuing our talk with Allie Spomer LPC, owner and therapist at Life Anchors Counseling in Daphne, AL all about Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
EMDR was developed by Francine Shapiro and is an evidence based modality originally normed for the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Veterans of the Vietnam war. Since then, it has been found to have highly effective results with other issues ranging from specific phobias, recent events, upcoming events, self-esteem issues, and the list goes on.
You can find out more about EMDR at EMDRIA.org and more about Allie Spomer @LifeAnchorsCounseling and lifeanchorscounseling.com.
