2.02 age of air: community building + the ritual of relating with elmina bell
Back in December, we experienced the Great Conjunction (between Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius) which initiated the Age of Air. This week I am joined by astrologer, medium and trauma-informed peer support specialist Elmina Bell. In Elmina's words "The age of air is an age where mediation and relationship become our allies for the embodied change we are seeking.
We talk about how this age, Saturn in Aquarius and other astrological transits help us shift the way we relate. Using indigenous, specifically African-centered frameworks, Elmina talks about allowing Spirit to be the driver of relationships. We also discussing some of the difficult parts of community building, cancel culture and celebrity worship.

Podcast Update: Season 2 is Coming
1.14 jupiter & saturn enter aquarius + the great conjunction
1.13 sagittarius szn: creation myths + the power of cultural cosmology
Sagittarius season is about belief and expansion. In this episode we will cover the 4 major lunar phases during this season. There is a special focus on the Lunar Eclipse on Nov 30th and Solar Eclipse on Dec 14, as well as the struggles illuminated by the quarter moons that anchor them. We will explore creation myths & cultural cosmologies and how they clash and co-exist in our world. How we can use what we know of our own cultural cosmologies to release dogmatic ways of existing in the world to move towards personal and collective freedom.
Our roots are not just in the ground, they also emerge from the sky.

1.11 libra new moon + mercury rx: training wheels
Let's talk about the growing pains of embodying new ways of relating to others. The big questions are: what comes with newness? what do we need to nurture newness. How do we have a hand in the welding of our own transformation? If we are in control of how we heal, what are our training wheels?
We talk new moon, mercury rx and other aspects in the sky! Enjoy.

We talk about Libra season! How do we hold and balance multiple truths? How do find balance in conflicting ways of existence? How are we meant to be purveyors of love in justice in a moment of extreme resistance, in the presence of hate and injustice? I don't know, but this is what we can begin to figure out together. We'll see what the Moon cycle shows us.

1.07 end of cancer season: last qtr moon in aries, performance vs embodiment
This week will make us very uncomfortable! As the Moon will take us for a ride in the final week of Cancer season. With Mars meeting up with Chiron, as well as the Sun opposing Jupiter AND Pluto; we have an opportunity to deepen our allegiance to your values on an emotional level. To. truly embody our values of liberation, justice and healing in a way that will radiate beyond our individual experience. As beautiful as that sounds, it requires us to examine our relationship to privilege and power in the existing structures. We have to let go of being seen as a good person and seek how we. can embody our values for the good of all. How can we break free if we can't name how we've benefited and choose to resist that way of existing?

1.06 capricorn lunar eclipse: leaving behind relics of the past, seeking the permanence of truth
“When vision fails
Direction is lost.
When direction is lost
Purpose may be forgotten.
When purpose is forgotten
Emotion rules alone.
When emotion rules alone,
Destruction...destruction”
This is this week's quote from Octavia Butler's Parable of the Talents, Volume 2. So much of this year is about vision. How we view the past, present and future. We are asked to embrace non-linear time for we seek something that no one person can conceptualize. We all co-create and the puzzle pieces cannot form something cohesive. Some of the pieces will not exist for decades and some are waiting to be retrieved as they are carried by ancestors. But when we are blinded by rage and anger of the present, we cannot hear and we cannot act in alignment with the future. This Lunar Eclipse pushes us into an uncomfortable position where we see we are not only accountable to ourselves. Although each of us matters, our needs and thoughts do not supersede those of the collective. It's time to abandon hyper-individualism. There is not just one truth, one narrative. No one. truth or narrative is forever. We must let our physical and emotional inheritance. serve. their. purpose and then let them go. How is this possible when we hold on tight because we fear the future is out of control? Are we able to find solace in the only truth which is change.
"All that you touch
You Change.
All that you Change
Changes you.
The only lasting truth
Is Change.
God
Is Change."
- Octavia Butler

1.05 the cusp of magic, cancer solar eclipse: reorienting towards liberation
"Who are were your people?" This is a question Ella Baker asked people she met. Critical in the Civil Rights Movement, Baker believed housing was a human right and was a champion for community-based health care solutions. Perfect person to bring us into Cancer season right? Where all we know is home and to learn not only what a physical home is, but what it means to feel at home with yourself. The emotional resilience the future requires, the need for us to identify our people. This is a season of ancestry, where the building of the future requires that we know our lived experience and our ancestral memory. The traditions we consciously and unconsciously recreate each generation. If we are to build a future where we are all free, we have to be willing to see why we aren't; and what remnants of the past serve and hinder this mission. We will talk Mercury Rx, Cancer season and this weekend's eclipse.
