I hope to inspire and motivate more Milts to seek entrepreneurship and bring more value to their communities. The rebranding of MHS is in motion and I want to be a part of that journey and not only to be a part of it but to be of value towards it. This podcast will shed great light and awareness of all of the incredible endeavors these Milts have chosen to pursue and all of the value they are bringing to the communities they touch. On this week's episode of Milt Talk Legacy Builders host Zahraa Mouzon is bringing back Entrepreneur and Strategic Advisor, Joe Hotagua. With over 14 years of professional experience helping Startups monetize their digital assets & Fortune 500 Brands reach their target customers through online advertising, he has decided to leave his role at Hulu, and move to Ghana to focus on advising companies in Africa full time.  

Joe currently works for Jumia as Head Of Advertising for Ghana. He also runs Hotagua Enterprises, a Freetown, Sierra Leone-based advisory firm. Since moving to the continent, He has partnered with Google For Africa, MEST, and Founder's Institute to advise/mentor their startups on how to build their brands online and increase their footprint with their prospective customers. Joe's mission is to help entrepreneurs in Africa, gain access to the same resources afforded to their counterparts in the US and Europe.   

Lastly, Joe has started an e-commerce platform (AuthenticAfrican.com) that is all about fair trade and African handmade products. By building this platform he is helping African Artisans sell their products around the world.  He has also built the Authentic African brand into a Social Media presence with over 40k followers and subscribers across Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. He is using these platforms to teach the diaspora about their history, inform them of current events affecting the black community, and also chronicling his move to the continent. He plans to continue to share his journey and begin interviewing African startups along the way.

Marilyn embraces educating and mentoring others.  She co-hosts The Self Portrait online workshop, which teaches you how to take high-quality photos with your cellphone.  She is also a co-host for the Broken Beauty Podcast, which is about two friends on a journey of pursuing their dreams as single entrepreneurs who see beauty in the brokenness.

Meet author and educator, Madiana Margao.  Born a first-generation Sierra Leonian -American, Madiana is an acknowledged pillar in her community.  She works tirelessly to support and inspire underprivileged youth in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

Since earning a degree in fashion merchandising from Marymount University of Arlington, VA, in 2004, Madiana has held a number of professional positions within creative industries including serving as a costume designer and personal stylist for various musical acts, working as Visual Director for Macy’s, Inc. (Mid-Atlantic), Display Designer for Marriott International, Inc. (Washington, DC), and Creative Director for Universal Gear (NYC).

Through her work with Red Sprinkle, and the DC Youth Fashion Alliance she has raised thousands of charitable dollars annually.  This money has been reinvested consistently into the more than 500 students her organizations serve, annually, and provides the foundation for economic development for participants.
