3Truey sits down with seniors Casey Santoro and Maddie Antenucci, two key players for, arguably the most winningest mid major women’s college basketball program in the country over the last 20 years, Florida Gulf Coast University. Casey and Maddie both speak about their basketball journey — from the lands of Ohio to ending up in Fort Myers, Florida — as well as their perspectives on life through their experiences and lenses, and topping it off with their relationships with GOD, all by which are used as navigational tools to answer the bell, that is winning at FGCU with hopes of making a deep run in the tournament, now with a new team of many, many transfers and Coach Lyles, the recently appointed disciple of the legendary coach Karl Smesko (ATL Dream). 3Truey sits down with the freshman class of the 2024-25 FGCU MBB team — Tristen Guillouette, Cam Codio, BB Washington, Jack Reddick, Darren Williams, and Evan Barlow — and speak about their embarking on a new chapter of their life, that is college and college basketball. Here, Zay gives the group a forum to express what has been going on so far for them, as well as a bit of advice that will help them along the way for the rest of their careers and lives. FGCU, this is a very special group of young men!

On a beautiful Florida day, we sit down with Roman Catholic & Penn State legend Shep Garner, better yet known as 33, who gives us just a sneak peek of his life and what it took to get to where he is today, as a basketball player, coach, and man. Being from Chester — a suburb of Philly — he talks about the importance of adaptability and being able to carve out your space in whatever you do in this world. A lot has happened since the last time we spoke — 2 scrimmages, and 4 games — and we find ourselves at a point where we must look in the mirror and figure out how to get out of the funk that FGCU MBB is in right now. This episode speaks on Zavian’s journey so far as a FGCU basketball player, as well as what the team has learned about each other and what steps need to be taken in order to get that first win of the season. Tune in to get 3Truey’s perspective on the vibes and get back to the winning ways that we have set forth for ourselves.

In this episode, we speak about standards and expectations, and what that means in the case of basketball, and life. Being able to be consistent about those expectations and standards is paramount to your individual growth as a person, athlete, and leader in today’s society. With that being said, 3Truey offers a very positive and empowering message on this such idea, as well as describing and challenging one to channel nervousness, practice, and anxious feelings in ways that are positive and allow you to propel yourself to success. The more consistent you are about your standards and the more you can understand how to manipulate your emotions to benefit and motivate you, the more you can excel. And that’s all we are trying to do.
