Not Offended
"Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them." - Psalm 119:165 (KJV)
In life, we often face situations that have the potential to offend us. However, being offended is a choice we make based on the stories we tell ourselves about the events that happen to us. The Bible provides us with examples of individuals who chose not to be offended, even in the face of adversity.
Consider the life of Joseph in the Old Testament. Despite being sold into slavery by his own brothers and facing numerous challenges, Joseph chose not to be offended. When he was reunited with his brothers years later, he told them, "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive." (Genesis 50:20, KJV)
In contrast, Job, another Old Testament saint, lamented, "Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble." (Job 14:1, KJV) While Job faced immense suffering, he ultimately recognized God's sovereignty and chose not to be offended by his circumstances.
As believers, we have the power to choose our response to the events in our lives. When we trust in God's goodness and sovereignty, we can find peace and avoid being easily offended.

This staff, when cast down before Pharaoh, became a serpent; when lifted, it parted the Red Sea. It was a symbol of God's power working through what Moses already had in his hand.
As we meditate on this passage, let us consider our own 'staffs'—the talents, resources, and opportunities God has placed within our grasp. Often, we overlook the potential of what we already possess, seeking grand solutions while ignoring the humble instruments God has provided.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Change, though often traumatic, is a necessary part of life. Just as the bullfrog and butterfly must endure the trauma of transformation to reach their most mature form, we too must face the challenges of change to grow and develop. In life, there are two directions of change: generative change, which is positive, and degenerative change, which is negative. We never remain in stasis; we either grow or atrophy, and the same is true for our spiritual lives.
The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Romans, urges us to embrace the transformative power of God's love. He calls us to offer ourselves as living sacrifices, wholly devoted to God, and to resist conforming to the patterns of this world. Instead, we are to allow God to renew our minds, enabling us to discern His perfect will for our lives.
This process of transformation can be painful, as it often requires us to confront our past traumas, fears, and failures. However, by surrendering to God's transformative power, we open ourselves up to the possibility of profound healing and growth. As we allow God to reshape our minds and hearts, we begin to see the world through His eyes and to live in accordance with His will.
Just as the bullfrog and butterfly emerge from their transformations as new creatures, we too can emerge from our traumas as renewed and transformed individuals. By embracing generative change and allowing God to guide us, we can experience the joy and freedom that comes from living in alignment with His purpose for our lives.

This heartwarming display of interspecies cooperation reminds us of the importance of community.

This is the story of Bailey, a dog in Oregon who became a hero. Bailey's owner repeatedly noticed him barking intently at the basement door. Initially dismissed as a case of doggy curiosity, the barking persisted. Finally, the owner decided to investigate, only to discover a dangerous gas leak. Galloping in God's Grace
Verse: "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." - 2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV)
SEATTLE (AP) — A zebra that escaped from a trailer east of Seattle last weekend remained on the lam Friday, as authorities closed off trailheads at a nature area in hopes of keeping people away and easing her capture.
The zebra was one of four that escaped as they were being transported from Washington to Montana last Sunday. The driver had taken the Interstate 90 exit for North Bend, in the Cascade mountain foothills about 30 miles (48 kilometers) east of Seattle, to secure the trailer, when the zebras got loose, surprising residents and drivers as they galloped into a rural neighborhood.
Three were quickly captured after being corralled in a pasture. But the fourth — a mare called “Z” — hopped a fence and has proved more elusive, spawning popular social media memes that have placed the animal everywhere from riding a ferry across Puget Sound to rounding the bases at T-Mobile Park, home of the Seattle Mariners.
The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV), "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." Just as those zebras broke free from their confines, we too can experience the liberation that comes from the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are no longer bound by the shackles of sin and guilt. The Spirit of the Lord dwells within us, granting us the freedom to live abundantly in His grace. We are set free to run the race set before us, not weighed down by the burdens of our past or the worries of our future.
As the zebras galloped with joy, their stripes a beautiful testament to their uniqueness, we too can celebrate the individuality God has given each of us. In Christ, we are free to be who He created us to be, unhindered by the expectations or limitations of this world.
So let us embrace the liberty we have in the Lord, allowing His Spirit to guide us as we gallop through life with purpose and passion. May we, like those zebras, bring unexpected joy and wonder to those around us as we live out our freedom in Christ.

Shining the Light in the Darkness
You are the lighthouse in someone else's storm.
Verse: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16 KJV)
Just as a lighthouse warns ships of danger and guides them to safety, the church is called to be a beacon of hope in a lost world. Driving to work on a rainy morning, I found myself struggling with the intermittent wipers on the front windshield. As I focused on clearing the rear window, which had become opaque with rain, I inadvertently missed my turn. This experience serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of focusing on the present rather than becoming mired in the past.
In life, we often find ourselves dwelling on past mistakes, regrets, or even successes. While it is important to learn from our experiences, we must not allow them to consume us to the point where we lose sight of the present and the opportunities that lie ahead.
The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Philippians, emphasizes the significance of letting go of the past and pressing forward: "But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ." (Philippians 3:7, KJV). Paul understood that his past, both his accomplishments and his failures, had to be put in perspective to fully embrace his new life in Christ.
Just as I had to refocus my attention from the rear window to the road ahead, we must learn to shift our focus from the past to the present. We cannot allow ourselves to be so consumed by what lies behind that we miss the turns and opportunities God has placed before us.

When mom was talking about going to the store with her to toddlers And she said to them their cars here in this parking lot so everybody take a hand. The older toddler of hers looked at a boy in front of them that was walking without holding a hand and said what about him he's not holding anybody's hand. And the mom looks down at her toddler and says, "He's not my kid!"
In this busy world, it's easy to look around and compare ourselves to others. We might see someone seemingly getting away with things that we as Christians know are wrong, and wonder why we can't do the same. It's in these moments that we must remember - they're not God's kids.
As children of God, we are called to a higher standard. We bear His name and represent His character to a lost world. Just as the toddler in the story was held to a different standard than the other child because he belonged to his mother, we too are held to a different standard because we belong to God.
It's not always easy to live up to this standard. We may be tempted to follow the crowd or compromise our values for the sake of fitting in. But we must remember that our identity is found in Christ, not in the world.
As sons and daughters of God, we have been adopted into His family through faith in Jesus Christ. This means that we are no longer slaves to sin, but rather we are free to live a life that honors and glorifies our heavenly Father.
So let us not be discouraged when we see others seemingly getting away with things that we cannot. Instead, let us fix our eyes on Jesus and strive to live a life worthy of the calling we have received. For we are not just any kids - we are children of the Most High God.

Our thoughts have incredible power to shape our lives. The Bible tells us that as a person thinks in their heart, so they are. In other words, our inner thought life determines the course and quality of our outer lives.
The Israelites are a prime example. After being miraculously delivered from slavery in Egypt, their minds remained imprisoned by negative thinking. Despite God's daily supernatural provision, they grumbled and complained, viewing their circumstances through the lens of lack and limitation.
How often do we fall into the same trap? We face each day thinking "I have to go to work" or "I have to deal with this problem" rather than "I get to use my abilities to provide for my family" and "I have an opportunity to grow and overcome challenges."
When we change our perspective, we change our reality. Choosing to think hope-filled, positive thoughts aligns us with God's goodness and primes us to receive His blessings. As Jesus said, "According to your faith be it unto you." (Matthew 9:29)
Today, refuse to be held captive by negative thought patterns. Win the battle in your mind by taking each thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). In the journey of life, there are moments when we encounter God in profound ways. These are the Bethel moments– the times when heaven touches earth, and our hearts are forever changed. But as time passes, we often drift away from those sacred places and lose sight of the impact they had on our lives.
When Jacob received this divine instruction to return to Bethel, it wasn't just about revisiting a physical location. It was a call to reconnect with the God who had met him there. Bethel was the place where Jacob had seen the ladder reaching to heaven, where angels ascended and descended. It was a place of encounter, revelation, and transformation.
Similarly, in our lives, there are Bethel moments – times when God revealed Himself, spoke to our hearts, and changed our course. Maybe it was during a worship service, a quiet prayer, or a moment of crisis. These are the places where we felt His presence, heard His voice, and knew we were not alone.
But life has a way of pulling us away. We get busy, distracted, and sometimes wounded. We forget the promises made at Bethel. We lose sight of the altar we built there. And in the process, we disconnect from the God who met us.

She told herself she wasn't going to "play this stupid game" of writing the positive thing. She had made a promise to herself so she did it anyway. She wrote down "I liked the way my husband tucked me into bed after I got home from the hospital. It made me feel loved.". She said that list making plan helped her get through that crisis time.
In the quiet moments of despair, when the world seems to crumble and joy feels like a distant memory, it is the tender mercies of our loved ones that can become the balm for our aching hearts. The young mother's story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, the power of love, and the strength found in the promises we make to ourselves.

We live in a world filled with sorrow and the ever-present specter of death. It's natural to anticipate facing hardships and difficulties, whether in the dark of night or the brightness of day. However, as believers, we are promised that we need not be afraid, no matter what terror we may encounter.
But why should we, as children of God, be fearless in the face of these terrors? The answer lies in the comforting truth that our Heavenly Father is always with us, throughout even the loneliest and darkest of hours. He is our omnipotent Watchman, our tireless Guardian, and our faithful Friend. Nothing can happen without His sovereign permission, and even the depths of hell are subject to His authority. The darkness is as clear as day to Him, and He has promised to be a wall of fire around His people – an impenetrable barrier against all harm.
While those who do not believe in Christ may have reason to fear, with a Holy God above, a guilty conscience within, and a real Hell below, we who find our rest in Jesus are saved from these terrors by His abundant mercy. Scripture: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30, KJV)
Devotion: In this passage, Jesus extends a loving invitation to all who are weary and burdened. Life in this fallen world is full of trials, hardships, and heavy loads that can exhaust us physically, mentally, and spiritually. But Jesus tells us to come to Him to find rest.
When we come to Jesus in faith, He doesn't remove all our burdens, but He gives us a new "yoke" - His yoke. In ancient times, a yoke was a wooden crosspiece fastened over the necks of two animals to help them work together in pulling a load. Jesus says His yoke is easy and His burden is light. When we are yoked together with Him, He carries the weight and guides us.
What makes Jesus' yoke easy is that He is "meek and lowly in heart." He is gentle, humble, and understanding. He knows our weaknesses and limitations. When we walk closely with Him and learn from Him, we find rest for our souls even in the midst of life's burdens.
Being yoked with Jesus doesn't mean a trouble-free life, but it means facing troubles with His strength, guidance and companionship. It's a shared burden and a shared journey. May we accept Jesus' invitation daily to cast our cares on Him and find rest in relationship with Him.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your incredible invitation to find rest for my soul. Forgive me for trying to carry my burdens in my own strength. I come to You now, weary and heavy-laden, and ask You to yoke me together with Yourself. Teach me Your ways and help me to walk in step with You. Thank You for Your gentleness, Your understanding, and Your sustaining presence. In Your name I pray, Amen.

The Silversmith’s Reflection
In the heat of the fire, a silversmith works diligently, refining silver until it’s pure. He explains that the silver must be kept in the hottest part of the flame to burn away all impurities. His constant attention ensures it doesn’t burn; he knows it’s ready when he sees his own image reflected in the gleaming metal.
just as the silversmith sees his image in the refined silver, God watches over us through our trials until He sees His reflection in us.
In the midst of trials, it may seem easier to falter and lose hope. But remember, it is the testing of our faith that produces perseverance. Let us embrace these challenges, not as burdens, but as opportunities to grow closer to God, to lean on His strength, and to renew our faith.
As we continue to endure, let us do so with joy, knowing that the trials we face are not in vain. They are shaping us, molding us into the image of Christ, preparing us for the eternal glory that awaits.
So let us stand firm, with our eyes fixed on the Lord, for He is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. And in His perfect time, He will stablish, strengthen, and settle us, making us perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has His eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image reflected in you.

Our lives are filled with ups and downs, joys and sorrows, triumphs and challenges. In the midst of life's ever-changing landscape, there is one constant that can keep us grounded, encouraged, and filled with hope: prayer. As the unknown author wisely stated, "For a better morning talk with God First. For a Better night talk with God last. For a better life talk with God all day."
Just as wings enable a bird to soar high above the earth, and sails harness the wind to propel a ship across the sea, so too does prayer uplift and carry our souls through life's journey. Corrie Ten Boom, a woman of great faith who endured the horrors of a concentration camp, knew the sustaining power of prayer. She likened it to the very wings and sails that keep one aloft and moving forward.
The Bible urges us to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17). This doesn't mean we spend every waking moment on our knees, but rather that we cultivate an attitude of constant communion with God. Whether we're rejoicing on the mountaintops or trudging through the valleys, God is always ready and eager to hear from us.
As we begin and end each day talking with our Heavenly Father, and continually turn our thoughts to Him throughout the day, we experience the peace, strength, wisdom and joy that only He can provide. Let us commit to a life of constant prayer, trusting that God will guide, provide and sustain us every step of the way.

Unseen Battles
Unveiling the Unseen: Extending Grace in Life's Hidden Struggles
Bible Verse: "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." - Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)
Devotion:
In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to get caught up in our own struggles and forget that everyone around us is fighting battles we know nothing about. The car with the "Learning stick sorry for any delay" sign serves as a poignant reminder of this truth.
Just as we extend patience and understanding to the driver learning to shift gears, we should offer the same grace to everyone we encounter. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:32 to "be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
We may not see the signs of personal struggles, but they are there. Hidden beneath the surface, people are going through divorces, losing loved ones, battling depression, and facing life-altering diagnoses. As Adrian Rogers once said, "You never know what someone is going through. Be kind always."
Kindness and patience should not be contingent on what we see or what we think someone deserves. Instead, we should extend love and grace freely, just as Christ has done for us. We are called to be a light in this world, offering hope and compassion to those who are hurting.
Today, let us challenge ourselves to look beyond the surface and treat everyone with an extra measure of patience, kindness, and love. We may never know the impact of our actions, but we can trust that God will use our obedience to touch lives and heal hearts.
Remember, "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy" (Matthew 5:7, KJV). As we extend grace to others, we open ourselves up to receive God's grace in our own lives.

The Debt We Cannot Pay
Verse: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23 (KJV)
In this story, a British pastor and his young son entered an expensive store with a strict policy: "Do not touch any breakages, much must be purchased." Despite the clear warning, the pastor found himself gently touching the items around him. However, his 4-year-old son, Michael, was not as gentle and accidentally knocked over a large, expensive item.
The store manager appeared, simply pointing to the sign. The pastor knew he couldn't leave the store and expect his young son to pay for the damage he had caused. Michael was unable to pay the debt he owed.
This story serves as a powerful reminder of our own spiritual condition. We all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). Just like Michael, we have created a debt that we cannot pay on our own. The wages of our sin is death, and we are unable to redeem ourselves.
But God, in His infinite love and mercy, provided a way for our debt to be paid. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus paid the price that we could never afford. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
Just as the pastor had to pay for his son's damages, our Heavenly Father has paid our sin debt through Jesus Christ. When we accept this precious gift by faith, our debt is canceled, and we receive the promise of eternal life.
Let us give thanks for the incredible love and sacrifice of our Savior, who paid a debt He did not owe because we owed a debt we could not pay. May we live our lives in gratitude and devotion to Him.

Psalm 27:13, "I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."
In the midst of life's storms and challenges, it is easy to become fixated on the problems that surround us, causing our minds to be held captive by negativity and fear. But the Lord desires to set us free from this bondage, as stated in John 8:36, "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."
As you go forth from this place, may you choose to focus your eyes on the goodness of God, trusting that He is at work even when circumstances seem dire. May you find freedom in His presence, knowing that He is able to turn your mourning into dancing and your sorrow into joy, as written in Psalm 30:11, "Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness."
And may you always remember that the Lord is faithful and that His mercies are new every morning. As you seek His face and look for His goodness, may you find it in abundance, even in the land of the living. May you be filled with hope and peace, knowing that He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ, as promised in Philippians 1:6.

Real Love
Verse: "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;" - 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 (KJV)
In my recent sermon on 1 Corinthians 13, I explored the true meaning of love as described in this powerful passage. I emphasized that love, or charity as it is called in the King James Version, is more than just a feeling - it is a way of life that reflects the very nature of God.
I noted how we often use the word "love" carelessly in our daily lives, applying it to everything from our favorite possessions to the people closest to us. However, the Bible presents a much deeper understanding of love. The Greek word used in this passage is "agape" - a selfless, sacrificial love that comes from God Himself.
True love, as I explained, is patient and kind. It does not envy others or boast about itself. Love honors others and seeks their good above its own. It is slow to anger and quick to forgive. These characteristics may seem impossible to live out in our own strength, but they are the fruit of a life transformed by God's love.
Through this message, I challenged my listeners to examine their own hearts and actions. Are we loving others with the same sacrificial, unconditional love that God has shown us? Or are we more concerned with our own comfort and desires?

He is not a distant, uninformed God; rather, He is intimately acquainted with every detail of our lives.
However, God desires for us to actively seek His presence and involvement in our situations. As the verse from Matthew reminds us, we are encouraged to ask, seek, and knock. These actions demonstrate our faith, dependence, and trust in God's ability to intervene and provide for our needs.
When we pray, we are not merely informing God of our problems, for He already knows them. Instead, we are inviting Him to be involved in our lives, to guide us, and to work in and through us. Prayer is an act of humility, acknowledging that we cannot face life's challenges alone and that we need God's wisdom, strength, and provision.
God is waiting for us to take that step of faith, to seek His face, and to knock on the door of His grace. He promises that when we do so, He will respond. "For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened" (Luke 11:10, KJV).

Proverbs 14:12 (KJV) "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
In nature, there is a phenomenon known as an "ant mill" or "ant death spiral." This occurs when a group of ants gets separated from their pheromone trail, which they use to communicate and navigate. Without their trail, they begin to follow each other in a circle, eventually leading to exhaustion and death.

In nature, there is a phenomenon known as an "ant mill" or "ant death spiral." This occurs when a group of ants gets separated from their pheromone trail, which they use to communicate and navigate. Without their trail, they begin to follow each other in a circle, eventually leading to exhaustion and death.

No one can bring true comfort to a grieving heart like Jesus can. Even the most supportive friend or relative can only do so much. The sympathy and kindness of others, while helpful, often fall short of what we truly need. Only Christ can understand the depths of our sorrow and offer the perfect words of comfort.
God knows exactly when we need His comfort the most. Sometimes, it may feel like He's waiting until the very last moment, when we're at our lowest point and ready to give up. But He always comes through with His love and support when we need it most.
God also knows exactly where we need comfort. Whether we're in a dark dungeon, a lonely wilderness, a fiery furnace, or a den of lions, He is always there to provide His mercies and bring us peace.
We can then share that peace and comfort with others who are struggling.
"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (KJV)

In the last days, God has promised to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh, enabling believers to hear His voice and know His will for their lives. As the passage in Acts 2:17-18 states, this outpouring is not limited by age, gender, or social status. God desires to speak to each one of us more than we desire to hear from Him.
While the Bible provides principles for making decisions, it does not always give specific answers to questions like which college to attend, which car to buy, or whom to marry. In these situations, we must learn to discern God's voice and follow His leading.

My friend that I'm doing a funeral for had a blood disease that required an infusion of platelets and Iron, two times a week for 4 hours each visit at Mountain States Tumor Institute for the last 16 years. The amazing thing about Johnny was that he had the ability to have a happy Spirit even in the midst of a lifelong battle with a debilitating disease. He could often be heard singing and whistling as he made his way through his day. As I've been thinking back over his life and looking at mine I sometimes find myself feeling sorry for myself over some difficult issue that's in my life. But I'm realizing that if we wait until everything is perfect in our life to find joy and happiness we will never find those things. A miner must move mountains of Earth before he finds ounces of gold. Perhaps we need to move aside the problems of our life and look for the happiness and joy that is all around us. but we tend not to see because we haven't done the work of moving the problems aside.
I would wager that no matter how difficult you find your life right now there's probably somebody within your network of friends and family that has things far worse than you. Perhaps just for today we can be thankful for this day and the joy and happiness that is within it. Just some random thoughts about living life with gratitude and expectancy.

Life Is a Battleground":
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. - Ephesians 6:13 (KJV)
Many people go through life expecting it to be easy and fun, like a playground built solely for their enjoyment and amusement. However, as the Bible makes clear, that notion is far from the truth. Life is in fact a battleground. As Christian teacher Adrian Rogers said, "You are in a battle—a battle for your soul, a battle for your family, a battle for your community—and you cannot be neutral."
Each day, we face an Enemy who seeks to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). We are engaged in a very real spiritual battle against the forces of evil and darkness in this fallen world. If we are not vigilant and prepared, we will be caught off guard and overcome.
Thankfully, God does not leave us defenseless. In Ephesians 6, Paul describes the armor God provides to help us stand firm:
The belt of truth
The breastplate of righteousness
Feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace
The shield of faith
The helmet of salvation
The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God
When we put on the full armor of God through prayer and living by His Word, we are equipped to face the Enemy's attacks. We can stand our ground, not in our own strength, but in the mighty power of God.
Life is indeed a battleground, not a playground. But in Christ, we have everything we need to withstand the evil day and emerge victorious. So suit up, soldier! Take your stand on the unshakable promises of God's Word. And fight the good fight, knowing your ultimate triumph is sure in Jesus.

Ponder This
Some years ago in New York City, there was a mother who was hanging clothes to dry outside when a fire broke out in her home with her baby inside. That mother’s face took the heat of those flames and was horribly scarred. Her hands were burned, but the baby was not touched at all by that fire. Not a hair was singed. One day that girl grew up and spoke to a friend who said, “Who is that hideous woman?” This girl said, “I don’t know,” and the mother heard.
Later, when they got home, the mother said “Darling, come here. I want to tell you something. When you were a baby, I went into a burning house and rescued you, not a hair on your head was touched, but these scars on my face and these scars on my hand are there because I rescued you from the flames.” When that daughter learned the truth, she was filled with shame and remorse. She said “Oh, my mother, can you ever forgive me?” Let us never be ashamed of Jesus and the scars He bore for our sake. How could we ever blush to speak His name or own His cause? Jesus wore my crown. The sacred mystery is that He bore the curse; the solemn misery is that He suffered our hell.

Here is a synopsis of my Easter Sermon
Title: The Power of the Resurrection: Transforming Fear into Faith
As I reflect on the resurrection of Jesus Christ, I am reminded that it is the cornerstone of our Christian faith. It's the event that sets Christianity apart from all other religions and gives us hope in the face of death. In my Easter sermon, I explored the significance of Good Friday and Easter, the historical evidence for the resurrection, its impact on the world, and how it should transform the way we live.
I began by emphasizing that Good Friday and Easter are inseparable events. Without Christ's sacrificial death on the cross, his resurrection would lose its meaning. The crucifixion was the moment when Jesus paid the debt for our sins, and the resurrection was the proof that his payment was accepted. The empty tomb is a symbol of the hope we have in Christ.
Next, I dove into the historical evidence for the resurrection, citing eyewitness accounts recorded in 1 Corinthians 15 and the Gospel narratives. I compared believing in the resurrection to believing in other historical events based on reliable testimony. The fact that the apostles were willing to die for their belief in the risen Christ is a powerful indication that the resurrection really happened. I also pointed out that the world would be radically different if the resurrection had never occurred. The positive impact of Christianity on education, healthcare, charity, and justice throughout history is a testament to the transformative power of the resurrection.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16 (KJV)
The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is a pivotal moment in history, where three men faced three different destinies on one hill. As the quote eloquently describes:
"3 men, 3 crosses, 1 hill. One man cursed, One man prayed, one man promised. One died condemned, one died forgiven, one died innocent. One died in sin, one died to sin, one died for sin. One was held by death, one was released by death, one conquered death. One lost life, one gained life. One was life..."
In this moment, we see the stark contrast between the two thieves crucified alongside Jesus. One thief cursed and rejected Christ, dying in his sin and condemned. The other thief recognized his own guilt and the innocence of Jesus, praying for forgiveness and receiving the promise of paradise.
But the central figure, Jesus Christ, stands apart. He died innocent, without sin, yet He willingly took on the sins of the world. Through His death, He conquered death itself, making a way for all who believe in Him to have eternal life.
This powerful scene reminds us of the incredible love God has for us. He sent His only Son to die in our place, so that we might be forgiven and have everlasting life. It is a call to each of us to examine our own hearts and consider which of the three men we most resemble. Will we reject Christ and die in our sins, or will we, like the repentant thief, put our faith in Jesus and receive the gift of eternal life?
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the incredible sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us to recognize our own sinfulness and our need for a Savior. Give us the faith to trust in Jesus, to repent of our sins, and to receive the forgiveness and eternal life that only He can give. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Here's a beautiful KJV Bible verse that speaks about God's goodness:
"For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; And his truth endureth to all generations." - Psalm 100:5 (KJV)
What about the problem of Evil? How can a good God create evil? The answer is he didn't. Listen to this exchange between a student and a professor.
Why did God create evil? The answer struck me to the core of my soul!
A professor at the university asked his students the following question:
- Everything that exists was created by God?
One student bravely answered:
- Yes, created by God.
- Did God create everything? - a professor asked.
“Yes, sir,” replied the student.
The professor asked :
- If God created everything, then God created evil, since it exists. And according to the principle that our deeds define ourselves, then God is evil.
The student became silent after hearing such an answer. The professor was very pleased with himself. He boasted to students for proving once again that faith in God is a myth.
Another student raised his hand and said:
- Can I ask you a question, professor?
"Of course," replied the professor.
A student got up and asked:
- Professor, is cold a thing?
- What kind of question? Of course it exists. Have you ever been cold?
Students laughed at the young man's question. The young man answered:
- Actually, sir, cold doesn't exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is actually the absence of heat. A person or object can be studied on whether it has or transmits energy.
Absolute zero (-460 degrees Fahrenheit) is a complete absence of heat. All matter becomes inert and unable to react at this temperature. Cold does not exist. We created this word to describe what we feel in the absence of heat.
A student continued:
- Professor, does darkness exist?
— Of course it exists.
- You're wrong again, sir. Darkness also does not exist. Darkness is actually the absence of light. We can study the light but not the darkness. We can use Newton's prism to spread white light across multiple colors and explore the different wavelengths of each color. You can't measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into the world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you tell how dark a certain space is? You measure how much light is presented. Isn't it so? Darkness is a term man uses to describe what happens in the absence of light.
In the end, the young man asked the professor:
- Sir, does evil exist?
This time it was uncertain, the professor answered:
- Of course, as I said before. We see him every day. Cruelty, numerous crimes and violence throughout the world. These examples are nothing but a manifestation of evil.
To this, the student answered:
- Evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist for itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is like darkness and cold—a man-made word to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not faith or love, which exist as light and warmth. Evil is the result of the absence of Divine love in the human heart. It’s the kind of cold that comes when there is no heat, or the kind of darkness that comes when there’s no light.

“Did you know….An oyster that has not been wounded in any way does not produce pearls?
A pearl is a healed wound. Pearls are a product of pain, the result of a foreign or unwanted substance entering the oyster, such as a parasite or a grain of sand. The inside of an oyster shell is a shiny substance called “nacre.” When a grain of sand enters, the nacre cells go to work and cover the grain of sand with layers and more layers to protect the defenseless body from the oyster. As a result, a beautiful pearl is formed! The more pearls, the more valuable…God never allows pain without a purpose.
What if your greatest ministry to others comes out of your greatest hurt or deepest wounds?
The hard things we may be going through now are really nothing in comparison to the glory that will be revealed in us later. (Romans 8:17-18)”

Closed Doors Isa. 55:8 #Nightlight #RTTBROS
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." - Isaiah 55:8 (KJV)
Have you ever prayed fervently for an opportunity, only to find the door firmly shut? In those moments, it's natural to feel disappointed, confused, or even frustrated with God. We may question His goodness or wonder if He truly has our best interests at heart.
However, as believers, we must remember that God's perspective is far greater than our own. He sees the entire picture, while we only catch glimpses. What may seem like a missed opportunity or a setback to us could actually be God's way of protecting us from unseen dangers or directing us toward something better.
The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 16:9, "A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps" (KJV). God is intimately involved in the details of our lives, guiding us along the path He has chosen for us. When a door closes, it may be because God knows it would lead us astray or hinder our spiritual growth.
Rather than dwelling on the closed doors, let us focus on the doors God has opened and trust that He will continue to guide us. We can find peace in knowing that every "no" from God is ultimately for our protection and His glory.
As we navigate life's challenges and uncertainties, may we cling to the truth that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Let us trust in His sovereign plan, even when we don't understand it, knowing that His grace is sufficient for every closed door we face.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to trust in Your perfect plan, even when I don't understand why certain doors remain closed. Grant me the faith to believe that Your ways are always best and the patience to wait upon Your timing. Thank You for Your protecting hand and guiding presence in my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

1 Kings 18:41-45 KJV - 41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,
43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
Here's the devotional:
Seven times, Elijah bows his face in prayer, taking a posture of full surrender, believing that the God of Israel would be true to His word and promise. I have often prayed with a longing that reminds me of ‘beating on heaven’s door with bruised knuckles in the dark’.*
Jesus, give me the faith today to pray again where I see nothing. Give me the companions who will wrestle with me once, twice, many times. Today, I beat on heaven’s door with bruised knuckles, calling out for rain, believing for revival, longing for more of Your presence in my life.
I think of places where I have seen cynicism and criticism against God’s promises or where doubt or distrust have taken root in the hearts of my friends and companions.
Holy Spirit, will You soften hearts that have grown hard? Guard my community from believing anything less than the best about Your love and Your work in our lives. Resurrect ideas and beliefs that have grown dry.
Father, give me companions who long for Your presence. Provoke in me a hunger to discover with my friends the way You are at work. Give us prayers of bold faith, believing that You are kinder than we ever dared imagine.

Referring to 1 King 18:41-45
1 Kings 18:41-45 KJV - 41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,
43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
Here's the devotional:
Seven times, Elijah bows his face in prayer, taking a posture of full surrender, believing that the God of Israel would be true to His word and promise. I have often prayed with a longing that reminds me of ‘beating on heaven’s door with bruised knuckles in the dark’.*
Jesus, give me the faith today to pray again where I see nothing. Give me the companions who will wrestle with me once, twice, many times. Today, I beat on heaven’s door with bruised knuckles, calling out for rain, believing for revival, longing for more of Your presence in my life.
I think of places where I have seen cynicism and criticism against God’s promises or where doubt or distrust have taken root in the hearts of my friends and companions.
Holy Spirit, will You soften hearts that have grown hard? Guard my community from believing anything less than the best about Your love and Your work in our lives. Resurrect ideas and beliefs that have grown dry.
Father, give me companions who long for Your presence. Provoke in me a hunger to discover with my friends the way You are at work. Give us prayers of bold faith, believing that You are kinder than we ever dared imagine.
