The Gut and Brain are connected through the vagus nerve. The vagus nerve calms us down through our breath. Diet is important to our brain and gut but the number one cause is stress. Our emotional health is important to our physical health and maybe just as important as our diet.
The brain is an amazing organ with the power to heal. Meditation and physical exercise have been shown through medical studies to create new neurons and improve cognitive abilities. Just 12 minutes a day of meditation is anti-aging and improves memory.
For true change to take place in our lives, we must first be transformed in our thinking. We must learn to exercise our minds. We do this by learning new things, being intentional with our thoughts, and by doing physical exercise. The most important exercise for the brain is thinking and studying the word of God.
Fear and condemnation are powerful emotions that I believe are at the root of illness. Condemnation can be broken down further into lack of love and judgement. Getting rid of fear, lack of love, and judgement will lead to a healthier life.
