10 Ways to Make Money from Your Art
Many artists are struggling with income streams getting cutting due to the quarantine. With galleries, art fairs, and businesses closed, traditional routes aren't always working.
Today I share 10 things you can do to generate income with your creativity and art.
Art Fairs with Ashley Corbello

Diversify your income
My grandpa use to say, "don't pull of your eggs in one basket". With the recent world situation and widespread panic this couldn't prove more true. As artists and entrepreneurs we are panicked as we watch our art shows close, galleries close, and art fairs cancel. We're watching as our finances begin to dry up. I talk this week about why it's so important to have multiple streams of income as an artist and/or entrepreneur.
Dealing with Overwhelm
As an entrepreneur, it is easy to find yourself overwhelmed. With overwhelm comes lack of motivation, inspiration, and energy. As an artist and entrepreneur I even find that it effects my creativity level in the studio. If you don't find ways of comping with the overwhelm, anxiety will start to set in. This is a common problem in anyone trying to juggle family, business, and the ever growing to do list. This week I discuss three things you can do to help prevent reaching the point of overwhelm.

5 Reasons You Need an Artist Website
Not only does an artist website give you credibility, but it also gives you control over who, when, and how potential customers see your artwork. You have no control over your marketing and require people wanting to find your work to wade through too much distraction and competition with third party sites and social media. In this podcast, I explain why it's important to have your own artist website.
Identifying who will buy your art
This week I discuss how to identify who your customer is so that you can get your work in front of them.
I have art, now what?
I often get the question from emerging artists, "I have work, now what?" This week I discuss how to make sure you are ready to take the next step in showing your work to the world.
Art Scammers and How to Avoid Them
It pisses me off when I hear about another artist getting scammed or one of my fellow creatives getting taken advantage of. In this video I tell you about a recent art scam that is going around via email, how to identify it, and how to avoid these scams.
Making your creative dreams a reality with Artist Jenny Hahn
This week I chat with Kansas City artist Jenny Hahn about her process painting classes. She discusses her creative journey and offers advice to other artists about not giving up.
Why I don't work for exposure
As an artist, at some point you have or will be asked to give your hard earned work away in exchange for "exposure". Before giving your work away, find out why I don't work for exposure and you shouldn't either.
Mindset & Money
In the beginning of my art career, I had some pretty nasty opinions of money and business regarding my art. I wanted to pay my bills, but I was creating obstacles for myself without even realizing it. Only after I became aware of my feelings towards money and business was I able to change my perspective and move forward. Once my mindset shifted, my art career shifted. It's so important to get really clear about your mindset regarding money, business, and art. If you are not in the right mindset, you can unknowingly create obstacles for yourself. It's important to be aware of how you feel about your art as a business and road blocks you may be putting up without realizing it. This week I have some real talk about the subject, how I identified it, and what you can do start thinking differently.
Setting Smart Goals
The new year is always a great time to start setting goals for the year ahead. In this I talk about setting SMART goals for your art career. Goals are important because they give us a finish line to focus. Once you have a goal you can begin to build a road map to reach them.
Three things you should always do as an artist
Have you ever shown up late for a job interview and still expected to be hired? When you're making a first impression, do you show up in dirty clothes and barefoot? The answer is no! It's amazing how often I see artists making mistakes like these that are sabotaging their career. This week I talk about three things you should be doing in order to be taken seriously as an artist (and sell work)!
Overcoming Creative Roadblocks with Creative Consultant Polly McCann
As creatives we can be victim to the occasional loss of inspiration or creative roadblock. Today I talk with Polly McCann, a fine artist, author, and creative consultant about how to overcome these roadblocks by honoring the detours and and stagnation.
