Being Black On Earth
Welcome to Being Black on Earth the podcast. I am your host, Se Ire here to present the future of Being Black, knowing that black does not define us or describe us. Black is our collective experience - our circumstance. We are a people! We are a sea into which many rivers flow - people of many nations, admixtures, lands, languages and faiths.
S2 E7: Angry White Men - Stolen Furor Pt. 1
In this two-part series, Sse Goodguy picks apart the thinly veiled fascism of Jordan Peterson's lecture on "Marxist Lies and White Privilege". Im this session, Sse spotlights Peterson's modeling of White Privilege whilst preaching vehemently against its existence. #JordanPeterson #Marxism #whiteprivilege #criticalracetheory #blm #diversity #equity #podcasting #Blackhistory #Americanhistory #TulsaMassacre beingblackonearth #blackownedbusiness #blackowned

S2 E6: The Crit Who Stole Christianity ft. Ila Ogunchild
Being Black On Earth is continuing coverage on the hot topic of #CriticalRaceTheory - Crit if you're nasty. This time Sse the Goodguy steps aside to make way for his daughter and social justice phenom, Ila Ogunchild. You know her from such episodes as "Return of the Pilot Episode" and "Nappy Ain't Just Happy It's Healthy" ft. Dr. Jessica Helm, PhD. She's back this season, now that summer approaches and school is over. And the apt adolescent is here to school an old, tired theologian on the tenets of actual Critical Race Theory. Prof. Randy Trahan is #Christian, orthodox, #evangelical if all that wasn't enough, he's 110% wrong about Critical Race Theory and its compatibility with that well-known superstar and son of God, Jesus #Christ. Prof. Randy purports that to be crit and Christian clashes like KRS-One at a Klan rally. You can't have Boom Bap and a MAGA cap. You have to choose one. Well, Ila proves that at least one of those conflicts is not so. In fact, activism and Christianity go together like Martin Luther King and boulevards on the Black side of town and the two go way back like church aisles. So, tune in for the baptism in straight #facts; we may not save your soul but Ila will bless your insight. #beingblackonearth #blackownedbusiness #blackowned

S2 E5: Critical Race Hysteria: The Woke People vs Neo McCarthyism
#Critical #Race #Theory, after being around for half a century, is suddenly all the rage; it's also got right-leaning political pundits & red state politician in a rabid frenzy to perform the Digital Age version of an old-fashion, down-home book burnin'. The ridiculous truth about of all of this, is that most of them have no clue what Critical Race Theory is and more importantly WHY it is. Because CRT does owes its origins to the Frankfurt School, too many people, many of them the parents of public school students, believe it to be a modern continuation of #Marxist ideology. The Equity programs that have been working in public #schools and institutions for nearly a decade, are now being conflated with #Communist indoctrination and now the whole nation has gone completely mad over the second wave of neo-McCarthyism sweeping the #Conservative party. Tune in as Sse Goodguy, does his thing and cuts through all the nonsense to explain exactly what Critical Race Theory ISN'T and what is really happening in your children's schools. #beingblackonearth #blackownedbusiness #blackowned

Episode 4: Here We Go! They Are At It Again!
A stream of consciousness rant on current events in Black-dom. The latest smear coming out of Right Wing Conservatives is that #Black boys at 6% of the population commit 47% of all violent #crime. The latest iteration of the incessant two and half century claim, "The Negroes are violent!" It was a lie then & it's a lie, now. The black #American on-going fight for #freedom and #equality in the country has consistently been thwarted & maligned by yellow-bellied lies, cover-ups, government conspiracies & assassinations of both character & body.

Episode 3: A Million and One Straws
Saddened as well as outraged on the injustice done to young Ahmaud Arbery and his community, I had to address it. After several weeks Covid 19 Quarantine racist disparity in the treatment & enforcement of is glaringly and grotesquely egregious. Law enforcement acts as servants in white communities & savages in Black communities #beingblackonearth #blackownedbusiness #blackowned

Episode 2: The Quiet Time
This episode covers the panic & pandemic that is sticking up everyone & everything - that child piece called COVID 19. The whole planet is in time out. Are supply lines shut down or are knuckleheads hoarding goods? Is a novel virus attacking us or 5G radiation? Is all this really necessary or they rehearsing martial law in the NEW WORLD ORDER? Will we make it out of this before our kids eat up all the cereal? Stimulus checks, rent freeze, mandatory vaccinations... Ahhhhh!!!

Bonus Episode: CP Time
A big thank you and fair well to 2019 and my season 1 listeners. Lose the lame New Year's Resolution and do some seasonal soul-searching, instead. The Gregorian Calendar is yet another form control, removing us from the natural rhythms of Mother Earth. Solemn Solstice!

Episode 20: Sowell, Reap Well - Reparations for Mass Destruction A Distraction
So, apparently, Thomas Sowell (poorly) wrote an essay(?), if you want to be strict, for the Jewish World Review back in 2000 about a public call for reparations to Black Americans for slavery. Thomas Sowell, well-known Black Conservative - the Godfather of Black (Neo) Conservativism. He's written many books on the issue of race. He's a prominent sociologist, economist and researcher. He didn't write that article. At least, I don't think he did. To me it reads like a warning to all Black people circa 1920s L.A. Times. It's puerile and menacing like White Supremacy itself - a thinly veiled threat. Listen in, if you want to hear my brief break down of the article and follow along: HERE! #ADOS #ThomasSowell #Reparations # JewishWorldReview #2000 #BeingBlackOnEarth #AfricanAmerican #Black #BlackAmerican

I went down the #ADOS rabbit hole and stayed awhile. I'm back and I'm conflicted. Forgive the delay and thank you for your patience. I placed the Reading Black Book Review on hold and the continuation of our Nappy Ain't Just Happy series in order to break down and discuss the hottest topic since Heathcliff Huxtable went to prison, Reparations for the #AmericanNegro. Episode 18: Wash & Wobble, Wobble & Wash (ReMix of Episode 6) Ft. Jamila Rowser
BBoE is re-releasing its second-most successful episode, published last year, with slice-of-life, Afrofuturist, comic book writer, creator and producer, Jamila Rowser. The first release was weighed down by my long-winded gum-bumping. This time I remixed it to feature 50% more from the Wash Day & Wobbledy 3000 writer and 90% less from the Good Guy. Jamila drops a lot of game from how to crowdfund successfully to what it takes to be a creative black women in an industry saturated with wypipo. She encourages more women to try comic books, by paving a lane tackling black and female issues. If you listened last year, tune in again. This time bring a cousin, co-worker and friend along. You'll all learn something new like: twerking is harder than it looks and co-workers aren't for touching. After you listen, be sure to stop by her website: jamilarowser.com and sign up for the email list, maybe grab a couple comic books and a handful of Wash Day candles. Support & Sponsor us on... The Art of - Being Black: RAW & UNCUT - Book Review (Draft)
As promised (sort of) the Saturday (sort of) book review (kind of). Alright, I'm lackin'. But I did promise an episode; so, Shaa's pulling up. It's rough and uncut review of Youneek Studios' debut comic, E.X.O: The Legend of Wale Williams. I copped it a few days ago and it just arrived yesterday. My BBOE eval is not based on how "good" it is as much as how BLACK it is - how much does it exude BLACKNESS. Black is obviously a loaded term, but I simply mean does it represent distinct features of our global condition such as it is. Being honest, I will need more time with the comics; there are actually four: E.X.O: The Legend of Wale Williams Part One & Two. And Malika: Warrior Queen Part One & Two. I haven't had the chance to tuck in to E.X.O's 2nd half or Malika at all. Tune next Saturday for the full and refined BBOE The Art of Being Black Book Review. For know, take listen to this roughneck version - laugh at me and cry with me. It's been a helluva day!

Episode 16: Nappy Ain't Just Happy It's Healthy ft. Ila Ogun Child
Shaa Goodguy hands the helm over to the First Born. Ila spent the last six month sifting through stands of information on Black women and hair care. What she found will blow your wig back and might be better to leave it there. In this segment, Ila leads an interview with Dr. Jessica Helm of the Silent Spring Institute, who spent several years studying the effects of toxic chemicals found in hair products marketed to African American women. Many of the chemicals found in these products are banned by the EU and regulated by the state of California. The study found high concentrations of these chemicals in black women who were already showing adverse health conditions associated with these chemicals, namely asthma, fibrosis and other hormone-related health issues, including infertility. Listen close to this episode as Dr. Helm will drop some tools and jewels on how to combat this chemical killer. If you enjoyed this episode, please rate us or reach out. Episode 15: BBOE ReMix - Afromath & Negronomix Pt. 5 Studi Studee Study
The 5th and final part of the ReMix series wraps up with Melancholy Jones speed-reading the pages of Professor Ronald G. Fryer, Jr's Analysis of Racial Differences in Police Use of Force - a much vaunted evaluation of the apparent disparity in police shootings of unarmed black men (and boys). The claim of those who say that the Negro problem is everything but historical and systemic racism, proffer Fryer's study as proof that police are a wholly unbiased band of benevolent brethren in blue. Yet, just within the first six pages, Melancholy discovers those cocksure claims to be somewhat flaccid. This completes the ReMix series - a funner, faster (played at 1.25x speed) version of the previous episode: An App For Black hosted by Shaa's alter ego, Melancholy Jones, with a few added extras. Episode 15: BBOE ReMix - Afromath & Negronomix Pt. 4 From Afromath To Niganomics
The ReMix series continues. In part 4, Melancholy Jones launches into the numbers. The capitalizing of humans have sparked great political battles and at least one whopping war. In 1899, W.E.B. Du Bois tackled the affects of generations of slavery in his book, The Philadelphia Negro. He spent a year compiling data to explain the "Negro Problem". One hundred and twenty years later the "Negro Problem" is still being studied and debated. Melancholy Jones presents some of the most boastful if not brightest minds on the subject as they decipher the Numbers. *played 1.25 speed* Support & Sponsor us on... Episode 15: BBOE ReMix - Afromath & Negronomix Pt. 3 iCon
Part 3 of the ReMix series discusses, at break-neck speed, the commodification of Blackness. Black bodies were used to sow the land of the free and lay the foundations for the home of the brave. Later, caricatures of these African captives were used to sell everything from stage shows to pancake syrup. On hundred years beyond the days of Great America, Gucci, Moncler and now Burberry have rediscovered the marketing power of The American Negro. Melancholy Jones counts the ways in which countries around the world and throughout time have built their wealth exploiting Africa and her children - the latest player being China. *played 1.25 speed* Support & Sponsor us on... Episode 14: There's An App For Black
There's a new sheriff in town and they call it Big Data. The new and rapidly growing trend in law enforcement is Predictive Policing or Pre-Crime. Tom Cruise will not save minorities from this report. Several major U.S. cities have already implemented the program, including Chicago and Los Angeles with thirty more waiting in line to catch the next wave in combating crime. Cheerleaders of this trend obviously didn't heed Philip K. Dick's ominous warning. Predictive Policing has major flaws: Facts (and data) don't care about your feelings and algorithms don't parity for bias. The data driving the robot cops is supplied by flesh-and-blood police officers, who have proven, historically and unabashedly, to show prejudice. If metrics prevail in policing, there won't be any people at which to point a finger. After all, how can a computer be racist?
