S2 E6: The Crit Who Stole Christianity ft. Ila Ogunchild
Well, Ila proves that at least one of those conflicts is not so. In fact, activism and Christianity go together like Martin Luther King and boulevards on the Black side of town and the two go way back like church aisles. So, tune in for the baptism in straight #facts; we may not save your soul but Ila will bless your insight. #beingblackonearth #blackownedbusiness #blackowned

Episode 19: Tangibly Black - The Reparations Episode
I went down the #ADOS rabbit hole and stayed awhile. I'm back and I'm conflicted. Forgive the delay and thank you for your patience. I placed the Reading Black Book Review on hold and the continuation of our Nappy Ain't Just Happy series in order to break down and discuss the hottest topic since Heathcliff Huxtable went to prison, Reparations for the #AmericanNegro. If that isn't Being Black On Earth, nothing is.
If you want to be informed on the #ADOS Movement check out:

Episode 18: Wash & Wobble, Wobble & Wash (ReMix of Episode 6) Ft. Jamila Rowser
BBoE is re-releasing its second-most successful episode, published last year, with slice-of-life, Afrofuturist, comic book writer, creator and producer, Jamila Rowser. The first release was weighed down by my long-winded gum-bumping. This time I remixed it to feature 50% more from the Wash Day & Wobbledy 3000 writer and 90% less from the Good Guy. Jamila drops a lot of game from how to crowdfund successfully to what it takes to be a creative black women in an industry saturated with wypipo. She encourages more women to try comic books, by paving a lane tackling black and female issues. If you listened last year, tune in again. This time bring a cousin, co-worker and friend along. You'll all learn something new like: twerking is harder than it looks and co-workers aren't for touching.
After you listen, be sure to stop by her website: jamilarowser.com and sign up for the email list, maybe grab a couple comic books and a handful of Wash Day candles.

The Art of - Being Black: RAW & UNCUT - Book Review (Draft)
As promised (sort of) the Saturday (sort of) book review (kind of). Alright, I'm lackin'. But I did promise an episode; so, Shaa's pulling up. It's rough and uncut review of Youneek Studios' debut comic, E.X.O: The Legend of Wale Williams. I copped it a few days ago and it just arrived yesterday. My BBOE eval is not based on how "good" it is as much as how BLACK it is - how much does it exude BLACKNESS. Black is obviously a loaded term, but I simply mean does it represent distinct features of our global condition such as it is.
Being honest, I will need more time with the comics; there are actually four: E.X.O: The Legend of Wale Williams Part One & Two. And Malika: Warrior Queen Part One & Two. I haven't had the chance to tuck in to E.X.O's 2nd half or Malika at all. Tune next Saturday for the full and refined BBOE The Art of Being Black Book Review. For know, take listen to this roughneck version - laugh at me and cry with me. It's been a helluva day!
Episode 17: Free Up!
Baba Shaa with the grown man business: no games, no jokes - pure flames, no smoke. Bringing Being Black On Earth's first Free Up! episode - just a light dose of Being Black to help you all unwind from the weekly grind. It's the end of White People's Black History Month, but, for US, it continues. Dropping a bag of insight and inspiration for The People. Hope you feel it. One People! One Blood! Be Safe! Be Good!

BBoE Update: All We Really Need Is Love
Being Black On Earth the podcast stands for solidarity among the people of the collective experience termed The Maafa - The Great Disaster that resulted in the colonization of Africa and the dispersion of many nations of African people to the Americans. This a platform to heal, rejuvenate and break the spell. I, Baba Shaa, reaffirm the mission of bringing healing to our people of many nations, lands and languages. This means: no more political rants and no more mainstream news discussions about popular nonsense. Going forward this podcast will solely focus on:

Episode 15: BBOE ReMix - Afromath & Negronomix Pt. 4 From Afromath To Niganomics
The ReMix series continues. In part 4, Melancholy Jones launches into the numbers. The capitalizing of humans have sparked great political battles and at least one whopping war. In 1899, W.E.B. Du Bois tackled the affects of generations of slavery in his book, The Philadelphia Negro. He spent a year compiling data to explain the "Negro Problem". One hundred and twenty years later the "Negro Problem" is still being studied and debated. Melancholy Jones presents some of the most boastful if not brightest minds on the subject as they decipher the Numbers. *played 1.25 speed*

Episode 15: BBOE ReMix - Afromath & Negronomix Pt. 3 iCon
Part 3 of the ReMix series discusses, at break-neck speed, the commodification of Blackness. Black bodies were used to sow the land of the free and lay the foundations for the home of the brave. Later, caricatures of these African captives were used to sell everything from stage shows to pancake syrup. On hundred years beyond the days of Great America, Gucci, Moncler and now Burberry have rediscovered the marketing power of The American Negro. Melancholy Jones counts the ways in which countries around the world and throughout time have built their wealth exploiting Africa and her children - the latest player being China. *played 1.25 speed*

Episode 15: BBOE ReMix - Afromath & Negronomix Pt. 2 Skin Trade
Melancholy Jones is back to host part 2 of the ReMix series (played 1.25 speed). In light of the recent hubbub around brand name clothing lines using Black Face to market products, this segment summarizes the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade, stopping to linger on the branding of the world's most lucrative domestic product: The American Negro.

Episode 15: BBOE ReMix - Afromath & Negronomix Pt. 1 - Pre Crime
This is a BBOE ReMix of Episode 14: An App For Black presented in a 5-part series, hosted by my alter ego, Melancholy Jones (played 1.25 speed). In this segment, we revisit the new law enforcement tool, Predictive Policing in greater detail and greater speed.

Episode 14: There's An App For Black
There's a new sheriff in town and they call it Big Data. The new and rapidly growing trend in law enforcement is Predictive Policing or Pre-Crime. Tom Cruise will not save minorities from this report. Several major U.S. cities have already implemented the program, including Chicago and Los Angeles with thirty more waiting in line to catch the next wave in combating crime. Cheerleaders of this trend obviously didn't heed Philip K. Dick's ominous warning. Predictive Policing has major flaws: Facts (and data) don't care about your feelings and algorithms don't parity for bias. The data driving the robot cops is supplied by flesh-and-blood police officers, who have proven, historically and unabashedly, to show prejudice. If metrics prevail in policing, there won't be any people at which to point a finger. After all, how can a computer be racist?

Episode 11: Black Is A Term of Endearment ft. Shelemyah Ashima
This is the Original Episode 2 - an interview with my Latina wife about Hispanic culture: What it's like managing an "interracial" relationship and raising black daughters. She touches on the brutality of Spanish-brand colonialism and its lasting effects on Latin America. Shelemyah goes into detail about the African cultural influence on her Cuban (paternal) side and African heritage on her Ecuadoran (maternal) side. Being a Yoruba practitioner, birthworker and healer, she addresses the rarely spoken of, much neglected need for healing in the global black community, most especially for the black women
