Breaking the Silence: Let's Talk About Uterine Fibroids

Breaking the Silence: Let's Talk About Uterine Fibroids

ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THE COUCH?

Hey everyone, tonight I want to shine a light on a topic that affects millions of women worldwide: uterine fibroids. These non-cancerous growths in the uterus can cause a range of symptoms, from heavy menstrual bleeding and pelvic pain to fertility issues. My guest tonight, Mrs. Christine Dukes-Hart, LCSW, nearly lost her life because of complications created by uterine fibroids.

Mrs. Hart developed TTP, Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, and was unconscious in the ICU for several days. It's rare but can be life-threatening if not diagnosed and treated promptly. TTP affects the blood's ability to clot properly, leading to the formation of small blood clots throughout the body. This can cause a range of symptoms, including bruising, fatigue, fever, confusion, and even organ damage. Early detection is crucial, so it's important to be aware of the warning signs and seek medical attention if you or someone you know experiences them. Treatment often involves plasma exchange therapy and medications to suppress the immune system.

Many women suffer in silence from fibroids, unaware that effective treatments and support are available. Whether you're currently dealing with fibroids or know someone who is, it's essential to seek medical guidance and explore all available options. Knowledge is power, and together, we can make a difference in the fight against this rare but serious condition. Stay informed, stay vigilant, and take care of yourselves. Let's support each other, share our stories, and empower women to take control of their reproductive health.

Take nothing for granted, my friends. Life is precious, and each day is a gift. Hold your loved ones close, chase your dreams passionately, and never forget to savor the simple joys that surround you.

Why is Dating So Challenging?

Why is Dating So Challenging?

ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THE COUCH?

Join me on the couch tonight as I chat with with ladies in their 20s, 30s and 50s. I am in my 40s and I rep the ladies in their 40s! Why is dating so challenging?

Most people get in their own way more than anything or anyone else. We fail because we’re stuck in our heads, self-sabotaging, or acting in a way that we don’t even realize is deeply problematic. You don’t need to be trapped in a loop of negativity forever. You can break free, become more self-aware, and start to live your life on your terms. To date on your terms.

Dating is fairly simple, but people make it complicated. People, with their issues, bad habits, and unprocessed traumas, make dating very, very difficult.

MLK and Depression

The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, was anointed. I believe he was sent by God to direct the people. In the process, he was not excluded from the sins of man and the ways of the world. He was not exempt from serious mental illness, according to several on-line sources. It is reported that DR. MLK, JR suffered from bouts of depression and before the age of 13 attempted suicide on two occasions. He would soon overcome this depression and enter college at the young age of 15. Get High On Your Own Supply!

HEY-HEY! ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THE COUCH?

Did you know that you may be able to control your mood? Yes! Just you, nothing else, just YOU! People everywhere trigger the release of feel-good hormones, unbeknownst to them. The most popular reference are athletes - the popular runner’s high. But there are sooooo many other ways we can release our feel good chemicals aka hormones. Do you know what makes you happy or happier?? In tonight's episode I explain endorphins, feel good chemicals - I define them and how they help, how to increase them and what happens if you don't have the ability to make or sustain them in noticeable levels. For some people, inherited genetic disorders or other factors may affect their ability to produce these hormones and sustain them. I talk about the bad behaviors that can enhance these chemicals and why we should stay away from these bad things. And as today is Sunday which is the most popular self care day, there is honorable mention about self care.

Join me on the couch if you want to understand the triggers that naturally activate each chemical release: what works—and why—to naturally "boost" one’s happy hormones.

On the Couch with Melky Jean

On the Couch with Melky Jean

June is Black Music Month now also known as African-American Music Appreciation Month. Aaaaand you know that May was Mental Health Awareness Month. Tonight I am talking the two bigs M's - music and mental. I'm on the couch with Melky Jean, the younger sister and the only sister of Wyclef Jean.

Check out her website http://melkyjean.com and listen to her album on your favorite streaming platform - "Melky Sadek Album".

WHO IS MELKY?

She is a true creative and workaholic. Melky has been critically acclaimed by Marie Claire and Rolling Stones. Rolling Stones magazine named her one of the best underground acts, Vibe magazine and even Cosmopolitan magazine went as far as to compare her to a young Glades Knight. WHEW! If she isn't touring with her brother Wyclef Jean, she can be found performing with her band doing, "A Tribute To Soul Music". In the show, Melky incorporates her own original songs with some of her favorite soul legends like Betty Wright, Joe Cocker, Celia Cruz, and Tina Turner to name a few. After writing and producing various soundtracks for film, Melky landed her first syndicated television show throughout the United States as Host and Correspondent of Vibe magazines new television show reaching millions of viewers. That exposure would push her in the direction to write concepts for her own television shows that she would produce through her own production company G Carma Inc, further testing her creativity. Melky also began to write music video treatments that to her surprise would later have her behind the camera as a director. After directing a series of music video's she now writes movie scripts hoping to have her first featured film released soon.

Tonight we are talking about her non-profit foundation, Carma, her faith and spirituality, knowing how to say no and set limits, how to reset, music as therapy, her album, Melky Sadek, and how she keeps things together by having a strong CIRCLE of 'real ones'. Join us on the couch to hear more. ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THE COUCH?

The Impact of Conscious Rap on Mental Wellness

The Impact of Conscious Rap on Mental Wellness

June is African American Music Appreciation Month! It was created by President Jimmy Carter in 1979. We celebrate the African American musical influences that comprise an essential part of our nation's treasured cultural heritage. You've heard of Kendrick Lamar? J. Cole? Well, add Yung Wylin to this list of conscious hiphop artists. Like Kendrick and J. Cole, Yung Wylin has had his encounters with mental health and wellness. He shares his journey in developing his wellness plan which includes a 'clean' diet, awareness of processed foods and how they affect us, our brains, our children based on his personal experiences.

His desire to live healthier and to share what he has learned has inspired his style of rap - conscious rap. Conscious rap is a sub-genre of hip-hop aimed at creating social awareness. Yung Wylin's new single, "Good Energy" is capturing young and old from the head boppin' track to the meaningful, uplifting lyrics. Yung Wylin is on a mission to share his 'good energy', his insights into being the change that we all need. He takes the couch with me to share his path to this 'good energy' and how he discovered that society needs more conscious and social awareness.

Happy Mama's Day to all of the mamas! ;)

Tonight we are talking ADHD. Adult attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a mental health disorder that includes a combination of persistent problems, such as difficulty paying attention, hyperactivity and impulsive behavior. Adult ADHD can lead to unstable relationships, poor work or school performance, low self-esteem, and other problems. Tonight we are talking ADHD and my guest is open about her life growing up as a child with a father who wasn't active in her life, developing ADHD, how her Black family responded to her ADHD, and how she pulled herself out of her rut to achieve what people said she couldn't. She is now a psychology major and an ADHD Coach and home organizer. ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THE COUCH?

Financial Wellness With Guest, Camille, OWNER/PRESIDENT of CCESAR INC.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO THE BRAIN LOVE PODCAST! We are starting our 4th year TONIGHT! And what better way to celebrate than to start the 4th year discussing money - how to get it and maintain it!

Tonight I am discussing financial wellness with Camille. We touch on taxes, credit including credit building, budgeting. ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THE COUCH?

Camille was born in Brooklyn, New York as the child of a single mother. They experienced the ups and downs that most impoverished intercity families faced. Camille knew at an early age that financial security was something she had to achieve. Growing up as a one of the many children who had to face the harsh reality of a struggling middle class family, she is determined to level the playing field. She embarked on an entrepreneurial journey in 2017. Within a few years of launching, Camille has helped an enormous number of entrepreneurs launch successful businesses of their own. Camille began her mark in the financial field by working in the financial department at hospitals and medical offices where she was responsible for allocating funds, processing payroll, billing/coding and ensuring payment for collections. In 2017 she began TAX PREFER INC, preparing individual and corporate taxes for various clients around the U.S. ensuring her clients that they’ll receive the best return possible. As she continued to further her education in finance, she decided to start a full financial solutions office in Hollywood FL. This would be the start of CCESAR INC. As a business owner, single mother and daughter of immigrant parents, it has always been important to Camille to help minorities elevate and reach the financial security they’ve always desired. Camille feels that honesty, accuracy, and education are the 3 most valuable keys to success, and she includes that in all her teachings with her clients. “The goal is to build generational wealth for all.” -Camille N. Cesar They also provide credit repair, mentoring and Charm School. https://www.ccesarinc.com/
