Embracing the Virtual Event. Lessons from Phoebe's Conference: 1/2
"This conference was the first time we’ve ever done it virtually. We had talked about it for a while – and there aren’t many silver linings to this pandemic, particularly in aging services – but it pushed us into the virtual world which is good" -Stacey Prohaska Phoebe has served the older adult population for over 117 years and provides professional development for their care workers and residents through annual events. Because of the pandemic, Phoebe switched their 2021 annual conference from in-person to virtual and used Conference Tracker to host it. The event featured Dr. Ruth Westheimer as the Keynote Speaker. It also featured 17 other speakers including Robert Torres, secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, and Jane Fleishman, a TEDx Talk presenter. All speakers and sessions were streamed live from different locations. In this two-part interview with Stacey Prohaska, Executive Director for the Office of Phoebe Ministries’ Philanthropy Services, we discuss the planning and execution of their successful virtual conference. How Conference Tracker Helped Us with Our Virtual Event. Lessons from the TNCHAP Event: 2/3
"This was my first time working with it. I think it was so easy – even for our participants who were having some trouble with the tech part of it – it was really easy to walk them through how to download the app... and how easy it was from there to help them navigate the tabs." -Tina Plank. Looking to make sure their online event was professional and engaging, while still showcasing partners and sponsors, committee members for the Tennessee Community HIV-AIDS Partnership (TNCHAP) turned to Conference Tracker. Event organizers, Tina Plank, Southeast TNCHAP Prevention Chair, and Nikita Edwards, Regional HIV Manager for United Way of Greater Nashville, express their gratitude for a smooth transition and share some of the lessons learned while planning their first virtual event in part 2 of 3 in a short series of podcast episodes. Show Notes: Visit the C3 Podcast website Discover what Conference Tracker can do for your event Learn more about TNCHAP and what they do Engineerica has been helping event professionals as they move to fully virtually or hybrid events. How Going Virtual Doubled Our Event’s Attendance. Lessons from the TNCHAP Event: 1/3
"Every year we have a community event where we provide entertainment,  awareness, and food. This year we decided as a committee to hold it virtually which was a little nerve-racking, but also exciting because with the virtual aspect we were able to get a lot more engagement." -Tina Plank. When committee members for the Tennessee Community HIV-AIDS Partnership (TNCHAP) converted their annual World Aids Day Celebration from an in-person event to an online event, they experienced some delightfully surprising results. Event organizers, Tina Plank, Southeast TNCHAP Prevention Chair, and Nikita Edwards, Regional HIV Manager for United Way of Greater Nashville, sat down with us to share some of the lessons learned while planning their first virtual event in part 1 of 3 in a short series of podcast episodes. Show Notes: Visit the C3 Podcast website Discover what Conference Tracker can do for your event Learn more about TNCHAP and what they do Engineerica has been helping event professionals as they move to fully virtually or hybrid events.
