Understanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe
I confess-I do not understand the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Luckily, my friend Stacey is obsessed about it. We were out to brunch and she was thankful to have a captive audience who genuinely wanted to know more. This recording is from when we were out to brunch, so please forgive the sounds of food in my mouth and interruptions from our waiter. But grab your own Prosecco and your lunch so you can show away with us as she explains all of the things from Wanda Vision and Captain America to Luke Cage and special guest appearances.

I also discuss the assimilation of West Indians into a general "Black" category and what ADOS gets right and wrong about post-Civil Rights movement immigration.
Discussing the Snowdrop Finale
This is our last Clubhouse conversation from earlier this year about the Snowdrop Finale. We discuss who got on our nerves, how North Korean spies reminded us of the January 6th attach on the US Capitol and why Jung Hae-in needs to throw away his Harry Potter glasses. Thanks to Kat, Traci, and Kerris for a great conversation!

Snowdrop Session #2
This is the second time I sat down with friends on Clubhouse to discuss the Disney+ Kdrama called Snowdrop. It marks Jisoo of BLACKPINK's entree into acting and stars my favorite Korean actor Jung Hae-in. I chat with my friend Kerris at the beginning and our friend Traci ends up joining us later. It's a fictional show about conspiracies in South Korea's transition to democracy. It's full of spoilers, so be forewarned! I hope you enjoy!

We discuss her trajectory of becoming a historian and doing research in Argentina and Peru as a Black woman. I'm wearing a bonnet because they need more love and so do Black women. We discuss how Peruvian enslavers forced their slaves to wear nice clothes, defying sumptuary laws in colonial Peru while preventing free Blacks from doing the same.
