Losing -90lbs with @EGP_Fitness

Losing -90lbs with @EGP_Fitness

Elizabeth (@EPG_Fitness) started losing weight by going to the gym. She wanted to lose weight so she could move better at work. She didn't tell anyone that she was losing weight until she had gone from a size 16 to a size 8. She has lost over 90lbs!

She started in nutrition by going on a liquid diet for a year. She realized she has high sensitivities to gluten and dairy. Her boyfriend guided her to start eating more whole food, salads, greens, ect. Now she uses better food to heal her body.

For activity, she started by using the gyms treadmill 7 days a week. Now, she is doing more weight lifting and seeing her muscles grow!

Elizabeth noted she has suffered from depression and bipolar. I actually have suffered from these mental illnesses as well. It's clear her honesty and self awareness has played a major roll in her weight loss success.

I want to thank Elizabeth for taking the time to speak with me. Be sure to follow her @EPG_Fitness.

#49 Losing -42lbs with @Emilou93

Emma (@Emiliou93) was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in July 2018. Then she was diagnosed with PCOS. Something she's struggled with for the past 10 years. She had gastric sleeve surgery in October 2020. Since then, she's lost 42 pounds!

Her portions sizes have been a major reason why she has lost weight. She has also started using Hello Fresh which delivers meals to her door. This makes it easier to cook without much planning. Emma also used to be a secret eater. Meaning, she would log what she ate but would leave out items. Once she started taking blood sugar levels, it was hard to keep foods out.

For exercise, she will spend time walking daily. She is currently trying to walk over 50 miles this month.

We talked about the difference between yo yo diets and actually losing weight. She said when she yo yo dieted, she was looking for the quick fix. And also made big changes in a short period of time like fasting or limiting her caloric intake to 700 calories. Things, that were either too drastic or unsustainable. Emma also talked about doing weight loss for herself. And that before, she listened to other people's opinions too much. She turned this weakness into her strength!

I want to thank Emma for taking the time! Be sure to follow her @Emiliou93 on instagram.

#48 Losing -190lbs with @Shrinking.with.Keto

Talita had a hysterectomy, type 2 diabetes, and started becoming an alcoholic when her husband said she wasn't living up to their marriage agreement of growing old with him. This was her wake up call. After, she did lots of research. Committed to change her situation. Started the keto diet. Since February 2019 she has lost 190lbs!

She went head on into keto. She posts videos and photos about keto on her YouTube channel and Instagram. She recommends doing a lot of research on your own before starting weight loss. She provided an amazing analogy comparing a diet to marriage. You don't meet someone, then skip engagement and marry them the next week. You meet them, date for a while. If things go well, then you eventually get engaged, and eventually get married.

This is the same for losing weight. You commit to learning how to lose weight. You date for awhile doing research and honing your diet. Once you find exactly what you like, get engaged. Then, once you are really in love with that diet. Worked through the mental aspects, marry it and start losing weight.

This may seem silly, but it's how people lose weight. This analogy cleared everything up for me. Almost everyone goes into weight loss wanting a quick fix. It's not how it works. The is the long fix that takes time, dedication, and commitment. Weight loss starts in the kitchen, and this is the best way to find the food that is best for your body.

Talita hasn't done much exercise to lose weight, which is great to hear as the stereotype is you need to workout constantly. She does fast and is currently doing OMAD.

She said plateaus are good because it means your body is changing for the better.

I want to thank Talita for taking the time to speak with me! Be sure to follow her on Instagram @Shrinking.with.Keto. She also has a YouTube channel call "Shrinking With Keto."

#47 Losing -95lbs with @Tylers_Keto_Life

Tyler (@Tylers_Keto_Life) hit a breaking point in February 2020. This motivated him to change his behavior. After trying different  diets over the years, this was the last time he'd try a diet. He started with keto as his brother who's a trainer was able to help him. He hasn't looked back and has since lost  95lbs hoping to 100 shortly!

Tyler's juggernaut has been keto. His doctor told him you maintain your weight at the gym and lose weight in the kitchen. Tyler eats 20 net grams of carbs and 28g total each day. He used to eat around 5000+ calories a day. Now his max in a day is 2300 which he usually doesn't reach. He records what he eats using the app "Carb Manager." He did this when he started his diet and continues to do it to this day. The app can also scan food at the store and tells you if it's keto friendly or not. Tyler eats smaller portions than he used too but never feels hungry.

Tyler hasn't done much exercising. It's amazing how being diligent with your diet can help you lose weight without needing much exercise. This is especially true the more you weigh. Tyler just joined a gym and is looking forward to seeing how the gym impacts his weight.

Tyler has seen major improvements in his life in regards to his mental health. He is finally liking the person he is today.  He is enjoying the process and derives happiness from his supporters. I am looking forward to watching Tyler's journey progress!

I want to thank Tyler for taking the time to speak with me! Be sure to follow him on Instagram @Tylers_Keto_Life

#46 Losing -100lbs with @SammysTransformation

Samantha (@SammysTransformation) started losing weight in February 2018 after having weight loss surgery. She was motivated by having diabetes and cancer that run in her family. She was also coaching her kids in track, and realized she couldn't run herself. Since 2018 she has lost 100lbs!

For food, after surgery she was eating 600 calories a day. Now she eats around 1200. She has 3 meals each day, eating much smaller portions. She also has to pay really close attention to her stomach. If she eats too much, it's really uncomfortable.

For exercise she really enjoys going on runs outside. Even going on runs in the winter! She can run near 7km which takes about 45 minutes for her.

Before she lost weight, she didn't like looking in the mirror and felt depressed. Weight loss has absolutely improver her mental health. She finds joy hiking and exploring with her kids. She feels accomplished for weight loss and is looking forward to staying healthy for the rest of her life!

I want to thank Samantha for taking the time to speak with me. Be sure to follow her @SammysTransformation on Instagram!

#45 Losing -48lbs with @Sw_Sylwia_H1981

Sylwia started losing weight after one of her kids friends told her child that she was fat and ugly. Someone else made a comment about her looks so she started losing weight with "Slimming World" about 2 years ago. She has lost 22kg or roughly 48lbs!

Since she started losing weight, she has found substitutions with food like lean meat or fat free food. She has found lots of recipes on Instagram that have helped her experiment with food as she likes variety. When she eats, portions are not as important as eating with a plate covered in 2/3 vegetables. She will still have a diet pop along with lots of water.

For activity, she enjoyed going to a gym with classes and fun music. Since gyms are closed, she has started running using an app that helped her work up to running for 30 minutes straight in a  9 week period.

With weight loss her mental health has improved. She loves herself more and is happier. She enjoys her work and putting a smile on other people's faces.  She said she "kills them with kindness." I love that. She has even inspired some of her coworkers to think about their health.

I want to thank Sylwia for taking the time to speak with me. Be sure to follow her @sw_sylwia_h1981

#44 Losing -40lbs with @MelissaT1976

Melissa started losing weight April 10th 2020. She has lost 40lbs. Which is 10 more than her initial goal. She feels and looks younger and is proud of her weight loss. She attributes much of her success to Jennifer Nicole Lee's program. She currently eats about 1500-1800 calories each day. She doesn't eat carbs past 4pm. This was a major change for her but now she prefers it. She adds collagen to different foods and drinks, which may be a reason why she looks younger. She goes to Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration and different recipes. For activity, she works out 4/5 days a week. She follows JNL's workout videos which includes a variety of different exercises she finds fun. Her advice when it comes to exercise is that it's a "marathon not a sprint." Well said! Weight loss seems to have made an impact for her mental health. She feels happier and has more clarity. She recently got a new job, and she is also taking a real estate class. Very exciting, we wish you good luck! I want to thank Melissa for taking the time to speak with me. Be sure to follow her @MelissaT1976. -Jason Tizzano

#42 Losing -100lbs with @BiggFitt

Jaime (@BiggFitt) played D2 Football and had hopes to go pro. He played center which required him to pack on some extra pounds. After realizing the NFL wasn't his path, he started losing weight. Since May 2019 he has lost 100lbs. One of the benefits he noticed from losing weight was better sleep with less snoring. He never did any dieting as he wanted to be as sustainable as possible. One of the main changes he made was smaller portion sizes. He also started using substitutes like PB2 Powder Peanut Butter which has less calories. He also drinks lots of water. After playing sports he was well versed in the gym. While losing weight he would do about an hour of cardio. After losing weight he doe 15-30 minutes of cardio and lifts for about 45-60 minutes 5 or 6 times per week. He also has his body scanned once per month that show fat and muscle amounts. This helped him realize his body was changing even though the scale wasn't always going down. After losing weight he has notice a little more confidence. He finds happiness sharing his story and helping others. He also enjoys eating. Consistency is very important to him. He suggests to also be active outside the gym like parking far from your store and walking to it. I want to thank Jaime for coming on and taking the time! #41 Losing -150lbs with @HalfofCarla

Carla started her weight loss journey January 21st of 2020. This wasn't the first time she has lost weight. But this is the first time she has sustained the weight loss. In 11 months she has lost 150lbs and has a few pounds left to lose. Before losing weight, she had trouble turning in bed, putting on shoes, and walking. One important thing she had to do was "fix her head." She did this by talking about traumas and life with a therapist. She said this was a major key to her weight loss success. She enjoyed eating out and fried food. Now she views food as fuel and eats mostly vegan. She drinks coffee and water. She also does intermittent fasting 16:8 to reset her body as she had trouble distinguishing between the feeling of needing to eat versus wanting to eat. She started walking everyday and has walked longer and longer distances. This time around she is more positive and fully dedicated. A line I really like that she said was "what if you didn't quit this time." This is something everyone needs to remind themselves to lose weight. I also really like how she didn't tell anyone she was trying to lose weight until after losing 70lbs. Last thing I like that she said was do not let weekend be the "week end." I want to thank Carla for taking the time to speak with me. Be sure to check her out on Instagram @HalfOfCarla. -Jason Tizzano

MonaLisa went to her doctor and saw her weight approaching 200 pounds. This was her turning point. She began losing weight in October 2019 shortly after having another child. She has lost 73 pounds and is currently in the toning phase! Check out the YouTube Video/Blog in @themizuvida bio or here: www.mizuvida.com/blog Check out this "Jabronize with Jason" episode in @jasonscottizzano bio or here: mizuvida.podbean.com/ In the next 24 hours, this "Jabronize with Jason" episode will be available on Apple Podcast: bit.ly/Mizuvida And Spotify: spoti.fi/354jA6G For food, she eats 3 meals a day with a couple snacks in between. To lose weight, she didn't change her diet much, adding more protein and vegetables. She also decreased the size of her portions. Or instead of having 2 plates, she only ate 1. She also drinks a lot of water. When she knows there are times she might indulge more, such as Christmas, she will be more stringent with her diet leading up to it. For activity, she hasn't set foot in a gym. Instead she does workouts at home. Now she does them 6 days per week for 30 minutes each day doing burpees, sit ups, planks, lunges. These are things anyone can do to burn a sweat in their own home. Her advice for exercise are "set goals to fight complacency." Determine if you are a morning or evening person, exercise when you have energy. "Be disciplined which is much different from motivation. Spend you time wisely." All excellent advice! She turned from being a more negative person to being positive. She cut out all negative people from her life. She sets goals like dropping 5lbs by a certain time. She focuses on eating the right food and self love. I want to thank you MonaLisa for speaking with me! Be sure to follow her @Lisas_Fitness_And_Food -Jason Tizzano

#39 Losing -30lbs with @MelRenslo

Mel had lost a lot of weight. Then found true love and had an injury, causing her to gain weight. She saw the scale heading towards 200 pounds and decided to start losing weight in September 2020. She has lost 30 pounds and is shooting to lose more. One thing that was tough for her was walking upstairs. Since losing weight she can walk upstairs with ease. She has also taken medication. After losing weight, she has been able to stop taking that medication. She has intermittent fasted and done keto. Currently she eats 5/6 small meals or snacks per day. She loves protein waffles and protein shakes. She is basically eating only food that has less than 10g of carbs or sugars. For exercise, she uses a personal trainer and appreciates the accountability that is created from scheduling appointments or not wanting to waste money by missing appointments. When it comes to exercise she said "do something you like." She has had one big plateau of being stuck at 170lbs for two weeks. She stuck with it and once she got back in the gym, the weight started coming off. She's realized she's alot "stronger" than she thought she was. She recommends to stop looking at Instagram models and to get off social media all together when you start losing weight. I want to thank Mel for taking the time to speak with me! Beatrice (@KetoGirl_Beatric) had tried other diets in the past. She started losing weight in October 2019. After over a year of losing weight she has lost 55lbs! She has gone from a size 14 to a size 8 and from an XL to a Small. But she said "don't buy me any clothes for Christmas" because she's not doing losing weight! She talked about starting keto. There are 3 levels of keto, Strict, Lazy, and Dirty. She does dirty. She eats around 1600 net carbs and tracks what she eats in the Carb Manager App. She has found substitutes like keto bread that make doing keto more manageable. Her kryptonite is salty foods. She loves chips. She's been able to find substitutes for those as well with the "Quest" brand. For activity she used to go to the gym and do classes like kickboxing. Then things closed and she started using daily burn, doing yoga videos and beach body videos. She works out 1 hour everyday. She talked about having plateaus. To continue losing weight she increased the intensity of her exercise. Then 2/3 months ago she started intermittent fasting 16:8. She's also apart of fb and Instagram groups that keep her motivated. #36 Losing -37lbs with @Shell.SW

Shell was diagnosed with PCOS in March 2020. This prompted her to start losing weight with Slimming World. She has currently lost over 37lbs in the last 8 months. She still has more weight to lose but has noticed she is feeling better. Has more positive self talk when she looks in the mirror. She has also noticed clothes fit better and she is happier with her body. Something she discussed multiple times is loving herself and accepting who she is. When it comes to food, she has found buying healthier food like a vegan burger or better cuts of meat. She started losing weight as people started retreating indoors from COVID. She was able to find an exercise group that does live zoom calls with exercise. She started out doing this 5x a week for about 30 minutes and is now spending an hour moving in the comforts of her own home each day. She has a good support group as her mom is also losing weight. Her husband is very supportive. She has learned she is "more durable." It's awesome to hear She recommends starting with small changes and see where you go! Thank you Shell for taking the time! #35 Losing -150lbs with @NickolasTheGreat1

Nick started his weight loss journey weighing 400+ pounds. He always viewed himself as an athlete but had trouble getting of the couch. He currently coaches football and expects his son to be recruited to play after high school. Knowing this, he doesn't want potential college coaches seeing him and thinking his son who plays running back will be similar. This jumpstarted his weight loss. He started losing weight January 1st 2020 after he got back from a cruise. He meticulously kept track of the food he was eating. Since then he has been on a tear losing over 150lbs. He talked about "digging in" and doing the activity and eating right. He said he wants to "earn" any treat or cheat meal he gives himself. Some meals he enjoys are eggs or shrimp. He also fasts, doing 16, 18, OMAD, and multi day fasts. For exercise, he started by going on walks. Then he worked up to running a 5k. He will also go to the gym and is starting to life weights. He said "do it so kids won't have to." He wants his kids to be healthy and he's being an example so they can learn from him. He also said "don't be afraid to start small." This is huge, everyone starts somewhere, don't compare your journey to someone else. I want to thank Nick for taking the time to speak with me! #34 Losing -85lbs with @KetoBubblyJess

Jessica (@KetoBubblyJess) has been on her weight loss journey for over 3 years. After not liking the person she saw in the mirror, she decided to lose weight in July 2017. She has lost a total of 85lbs and has been maintaining her weight for about a year. She initially learned how to lose weight after reading weight loss books. She's been doing the keto diet ever since. She started eating more protein and began liking vegetables. She likes steak, just like me :) Clearly she has good taste haha. She currently eats 2 meals per day. She does intermittent fasting for 16 hours. She eats around 1100 calories each day and drinks a lot of water. She also drinks Key Nutrient which looks tasty and is keto friendly. She never did much exercise at the gym. Instead, she's had young children she's been chasing around. She is also apart of her community theatre group and has done multiple plays/musicals which is super cool! Rather than having a strong "why" she asks "why?" Why I am wanting to eat this? or buy this? Being happy and content with yourself is a big part of her mentality. I love that point of view. She said to anyone looking to lose weight to "give yourself grace" and celebrate the "small wins." This is so true and easily overlooked! I want to thank Jess for taking the time to speak with me! Be sure to follow her @KetoBubblyJess. -Jason Tizzano

Fun times chatting with Nellie (@Sleeve_ItToMe). She has lost 113lbs in 2020. She unfortunately had a miscarriage. Then decided to have Vertical Sleeve Surgery to get her health in order so she could have another child. She had been looking into getting the surgery for years and had talked to many people who have had the surgery.Check out the blog/video here or in @themizuvida bio: www.mizuvida.com/blogAfter having the surgery, she hit the ground running. She liked that the surgery gave her time to try things out. She was also very committed to losing weight. When I asked her about how she felt about her weight loss, she said "energetic!"She eats 90grams of protein each day. She used to eat about 3000-4500 calories in a day. Now, she eats between 500-1200 calories. Her kryptonite is chips. She also talked about "sliming" which I had never heard of before. If you fill up quickly, there's a nerve on the top of your stomach that food presses on. This nerve causes mucus to be generated in your esophagus and it's not very comfortable. When it comes to activity, she likes to just move. Since April 2019, Mike (@MikaMakinMotivationalMoves) has lost over 140lbs and plans on losing 30 more. She has a great story that is not only thoughtful but sustainable!Check it out here or in @themizuvida bio: Check out podcast here or in @jasonscottizzano bio: bit.ly/Mizuvida Her weight loss was sparked after going on a hike with her sister. During the hike, she was gassed. That feeling led her to start googling how to lose weight and how to eat better. She stopped eating out every meal. Then used an app to figure out how many calories she could eat and lose weight. She went from eating 4000-5000 calories per day to ~2300 calories. Once she start eating less calories, she began losing weight. She lost 50 pounds in 4 months. Then she maintained her weight for a bit.Once January came around, she started losing weight again. She has lost 90 more pounds in 2020. Now, her diet has evolved, she eats more plant based foods. I thought it was really interesting how she talked about hitting a wall multiple times. This caused her to reassess what she is doing and try different approaches. She bought a treadmill so she could get exercise all year long no matter the weather conditions. Currently she works out everyday and burns 400-600 calories a day.She talked about being patience when she started out. Now she is a big impatient working towards her goals. #30 Losing -75lbs with @AshleysFigureFormation

Ashley (@Ashleysfigureformation) tore her ACL in a freak accident. Then she found out she had multiple Uterine Fibroids. One of them was the size of a golf ball. One way to decrease the fibroids size was through diet and exercise. She did just that and has lost 75lbs! Check it out here: She started doing research on her own through Youtube and Google. She talked to her doctors about eating better. Started adding more fruits, vegetable, and proteins to her diet. She usually eats two meals a day, so she does intermittent fasting. She doesn't record what she eats or the number of calories she consumes. She likes taking photo of every meal she has which is her unique way of recording what she eats and staying accountable. She is a killer when it comes to activity. She walks about 6 miles every day. This takes her 1.5 hours. She then records her activity and weight loss on a calendar for each day. Then she can see her progress. She weighs herself once a week. She recommends finding something enjoyable that you can do like walking or Instagram challenges. She also completed 75 hard.As we discussed mentality she talked about giving it your all on most days. Then if you have the rare holiday or birthday you don't need to feel "guilty." She also talked about being "fearful" and how losing weight has helped her improve this area of her life. After Megan (@Megan_JourneyToFitness) had two kids and dealt with her mental health, . She started her health journey in December 2019. She has lost -61lbs and is almost near her goal weight of 175lbs.Check it out here or in @themizuvida bio: bit.ly/2KV9iyCShe provided awesome advice of "taking your time" and developing "consistency."She talked about simply removing extra sugars and carbs such as sodas from her diet. Then she did more and more. Now she fasts 16 hours per day. She'll eat better portion sizes with food that is healthier like chicken or salads. She currently eats around 1,770 calories per day in 2 or 3 meals. She also likes to have black coffee to start her day, which is nice as it doesn't break your fast. She lives in New York, where most gyms are closed. So she started exercising by finding workouts on YouTube. Then she started using the Nike Run App. Her partner invited her to go on a run in June and she hasn't stopped since. Now, she has been able to run about 3 miles, which is nearly a 5k. Great job! She recommended making sure to stretch before exercise so you don't pull anything. When she was in the gym, she found herself comparing herself to all the healthy people in the gym. This made her want to lose her weight immediately. Once she started focusing on herself, she was able to make progress and feel better. Now she is "striving to be the best she can be."I want to thank Megan for taking the time to speak with me. She is almost to her goal weight, you got it! #28 Losing -60lbs with @Steph.WLJ

Stephanie (@Steph.WLJ) has lost over 60 pounds and plans to lose even more. She initially went to the doctor and found out she had high cholesterol. She started doing Weight Watchers program. Then she had an injury which hindered her progress. In April 2020 she started losing weight again with Weight Watchers and hasn't looked back!Find blog here or in @themizuvida bio: bit.ly/3hgIEfyShe talked about not being so hard on herself. Yesterday was, Thanksgiving. She knew the day was coming so she worked out a little harder, and was able to enjoy the day rather than dread it or "feel guilty." Her mentality has evolved throughout her weight loss experience. She noted that in her last weight loss attempt, she would give herself rewards for working out or eating better with food." This time, she decided not to do that since "food is not a reward, it's fuel." She wrote down goals like when she loses 30 pounds, she would take a trip to San Diego or the Smokey Mountains once the goal is reached. I think this is a great way to motivate yourself! Thank You so much for taking the time Stephanie! Be sure to follow her @Steph.WLJ-Jason Tizzano

#27 Losing -50lbs with @TheJourneytomooo_town

Monica (@thejourneytomooo_town) has struggled with her weight dating back to elementary school where kids bullied her because of her weight. Her mom started doing weight watchers, so she followed along. Her weight fluctuated before having some difficult family events. Then she developed an eating disorder because food was the one thing she could control. At one point, she weighed 92lbs. Then she went to college and paid less attention to her weight until March 2020. When most people were inside, she was outside running. Currently, she is down 50lbs.Find the blog here or in @themizuvida bio: bit.ly/3heK3TQ After having an eating disorder, she understands herself better. She can identify if she's eating less or working out too much. This keeps her on track to being healthier in her body and mind. She started walking a loop outside her apartment. Eventually, she made a goal to run part of the loop. Then another goal to run more and more. Now she has run up to 10 miles! That is really far! It's amazing what you can accomplish when you commit to something. She said her progress has come from doing the work and being consistent.Monica has tried lots of different things weight loss things like weight loss pills or a juice cleanse. None of it was sustainable. Finding what worked for her took time. In fact very little happened in the first 3 months of her weight loss. By sticking with it, she found her style and what worked best for her. Now, she has created healthy habits that make weight loss enjoyable. She also tries cooking different recipes to keep things fun!I want to thank Monica for taking the time! Be sure to follow her on Instagram (@thejourneytomooo_town)-Jason Tizzano

#26 Losing -45lbs with @TisaliikeLisa

Tisa became pregnant in 2016. Then, she found out her thyroid had cancer. Fortunately, they were able to remove the cancerous tissue. Unfortunately, this caused her hormones to go haywire and she quickly gained 60 pounds. She thought she would never be able to reverse this. She found a program that directed her on what food to eat with the right portion sizes and exercises to do at home. She said she started doing the program, eating healthier and nothing changed on the scale for 3 weeks. She stuck with it though, and then she started losing weight. She has lost 45lbs. She wants to lose 45 more pounds. Currently, she is successfully maintaining her weight after injuring her knee. A cool theme in her story is she is adding rather than taking away. She never feels like she is starving, quite the opposite. She eats more vegetable and more fruit. She eats cheese and nuts for fat. She eats 3 meals with a couple of snacks totaling 2,000 calories. When we talked about activity, she follows videos on her app or tv. Some programs are 30 minutes or an hour. I really liked how she said you "need to be patient" and "give yourself grace" when it comes to figuring out what exercises are best for you. She said you need to be in a "self love" rather than be in a revengeful state of weight loss. I think this is so true. She has realized she is "much stronger than I thought." It is clearly evident in her story. She has had some tough circumstances but has been able to overcome them. I think it's really inspirational! Thank you so much Tisa for taking the time. #25 Losing -80lbs with @KBlake_GetsFit

Kristina has lost over 80lbs and is planning on losing more. I love her "why" for losing weight. She had wanted to but struggled to lose weight for over 2 year. Then in 2016, she tried on pants that were to tight. She decided then she was going to take weight loss seriously. She hired a personal trainer who helped her out with food and gym.Check it out the blog here or in @themizuvida bio: bit.ly/3heUk2zI really liked her mindset with food. She doesn't put too much pressure on herself. If she doesn't eat perfect one day she realizes it's just one day and will come back strong the next day.I also liked how she said to make weight loss "fun." So many people think weight loss needs to be this arduous process, but Kristina is proof it can be fun.For her food she rotates out several different meats and vegetables to hit her macros. Variety is not a big part of her meal plan. I think this is great because you can stay focused on what works. She hired a personal trainer and started going to the gym around 5 days a week. She is still going to the gym which is awesome! Her mentality is on point. "Make it fun!" Remember your "why." Seek "happiness, joy, contentment" while "following your process."Thank you Kristina for taking the time. Be sure to follow her on instagram @KBlake_GetsFit.-Jason Tizzano

#24 Losing -60 with @NPXFITNESS

Nykeva (@NPXFITNESS) has lost 60lbs in the past 2 years. She is also in school getting her registered dietician license. She had so much great information to share in this interview, lets take a look.Right of the bat we talked about how she has lost 60lbs in the last 2-3 years. Most people think they need to be losing 1 or 2 pounds a week or they are failing. This is not true at all. It is one of the great myths associated with weight loss that makes people feel bad and quit. When I asked her about it, she said "as long as I'm maintaining or losing weight I am happy." This is such valuable advise. You can maintain your weight. That is ok and for most people, it's not easy to maintain your weight. Before losing weight, she said "it's important to learn how to live healthier by making small changes." Not all of the small changes will help you lose weight, but over time small changes add up. When we talked about food, I liked most how open and honest Nykeva was. Most people hide mistakes and only talk about their success or what they think people want to hear. Nykeva shared that she had a hamburger and fries the night before. She said she "overate" too. I love that she shared this because it shows how important it is to be honest with yourself. When talking about exercise, Nykeva started small and had a trainer. Now she works out 1 hour to 1.5 hours a day. She also advices people on how to start lifting. She enjoys researching this process for them. She will find examples of the workouts on YouTube and do the workout herself to test it. I really enjoyed talking about the mentality aspect with Nykeva. She has really grown and developed her confidence, self esteem, and a belief in herself that is difficult to do.I want to thank Nykeva for taking the time to speak with me. I wish you good luck on getting your Dietician License. Be sure to follow her at @NPXFITNESS.-Jason Tizzano

#23 Losing -40lbs with @Emily_WW_MyfitnessGal

Emily (@Emily_ww_myfitnessgal) is currently down 40lbs! Right of the bat she said some things I agree with 100%. You have to be "mentally ready" to lose weight. This means you are prepared to sacrifice. You are less critical of yourself. When you have disappointments, you learn from them and continue pushing forward rather than giving up.Check it out the blog here or in @themizuvida bio: bit.ly/3nxgaRaShe also said to know your "why." Weight loss takes a certain understanding of yourself. Things like what causes you to go back into your normal routine. What your kryptonite is. When your "why" is strong and grounding, it will help you stay the course when you feel like giving up.We talked a lot about food. I like how she said "you can't outwork a bad diet." It's so true. Having good tools is important for her like a WW app to record points. A community of like minded people. She also made a new Instagram account to connect with likeminded people and be her full authentic self. I think this is huge, negative people or judgment can make things difficult. I actually made a new Instagram account for very similar reasons.Emily get's bored easily when exercising. She uses "Health House" that make videos and do livestreaming HIIT routines. This keeps her mind working and engaged. It also helps her burn lots of calories! She shared about being jealous of other people. Rather than let it fester, she is focused on herself and doing what she can each day to become healthier. Her definition of health is being "happy in her own skin." I agree 100%. Happiness is so important! Thanks Emily for taking the time to share you story! You can follow her at (@Emily_ww_myfitnessgal)-Jason Tizzano

Zaida (@CZ__fit ) lost her mother in August 2016. She then lost her father about a year later. Both of these losses weighed on her. To get her mind of the loss of her mom she started thinking about health in January 2017. She has crushed her weight loss losing -65lbs. Now she is weight lifting and looking to start body building competitions in 2021.Check it out here: bit.ly/3h58L95We talked a lot about food as food is an important part of her life. Her husband is a cook and she started out as a pescatarian which has evolved to being mostly vegan. When she started losing weight, she was eating about 1600 calories. Now she eats 1800-1900 with more weight lifting. She is a fan of plants, vegetables, and Beyond Meat. She also tries to limit soy, sodium, and too many fruits to make sure she is balanced and healthy. She's not a big sweets person and will have several per month. She loves pasta, so limiting that can be difficult. We talked a lot about exercise. She started with a trainer who helped her have the correct form and ensured she was doing the right exercise. She started out using the trainer 3 days a week. Now, she works out every single day. She usually gets up at 4am to hit the gym. (Far to early for me!!) She is lifting heavy weight and you can definitely see the results in her Instagram photos.Whenever she thinks about giving up, she remembers her "why" being how hard her parents fought before passing. She also remembers all the work she has put in and fears of gaining the weight she lost back. When you are so in touch with your motivators, you can do amazing things like Zaida!Thank you so much for taking the time Zaida! Be sure to follow her journey on Instagram @CZ__FT. #21 Losing -134lbs with @Thick.Spice

Jeanette (@Thick.Spice) started her weight loss story after her mother died in her arms. She became depressed and said "it can be hard to get out off, especially when things feel hopeless." I know this first hand. Jeanette used working out and weight loss to get out of depression. She has been losing weight for nearly 3 years and has lost a total of -134lbs!Check it out here: bit.ly/34nZlQQShe learned about food on google and pinterest. She has been recording what she eats on My Fitness pal app to this day. She never used to look at nutrition labels, so eating a whole pack of cookies was possible. Now she understands serving sizes and nutrition labels. She likes to weigh out serving sizes. She also fasts from 7pm to 10am every day so she eats 2 meals per day. She eats salads and proteins, and eats about 1200-1500 calories per day.She is a beast when it comes to working out. When most of us are sleeping, she's up at 5am working out until 7am. Then she goes to a workout class until 8am. Then she does a ~25 minute run. She didn't start this way. She initially lost 20lbs by doing workout videos at home to prove she would lose weight and be committed before buying a gym pass. I love this approach, especially when most people get a gym pass to say "I have to go to the gym" or "I'm on a diet." Her advice to those interested in exercise is to "try everything, and do what you want."Her mentality is on point as well. She said "my only competition is myself." At the beginning of Covid, she felt like giving up, but knew working out would keep her out of depression. It's clear she understands herself and what is best for her mental health.Thank you Jeanette so much for coming on! Be sure to follow her on Instagram @Thick.Spice-Jason Tizzano

#20 Losing -92lbs with @ValwoTravels

Thank you Val (@Valwotravels) for taking the time to talk with me, even though today was your dogs birthday :) Val has lost a total of 92lbs. She started thinking about weight loss as early as 10 years old. She would start and stop programs. In 2018, she had a breaking point in a Kohl's dressing room. She decided in that moment she was not going to return to Kohl's until she could fit into smaller sizes. She learned about food and nutrition by researching on the web and reading books. She read Jason Fung's book "The Obesity Code." This book gave her a lot of advice food wise. She also started intermittent fasting which is something Jason Fung promotes. I learned about fasting from him as well. I love fasting. I practice fasting and promote it. Val also talked about how she was an emotional eater. Eating to celebrate and eating when stressed. She said the other times she tried losing weight, it was from a point of self dislike. Now, when she started losing weight, it came from a place of self love. Learning to love yourself is not talked about often with weight loss. But it clearly plays a big role in your success. After VSG surgery, Val consumes about 800-1200 calories. Before vsg she would eat ~1400 calories in 2 meals. For activity, she started going to the gym and found a personal trainer. This helped her learn how to exercise properly. Something I definitely recommend people do. She talked about weighing herself every single day. She also recently got a smart scale that sends info to her phone. As she likes data. One of the biggest changes for her was seeing food differently. Less emotional eating. She has much more positive thinking. She has finally been able to turn her habits around. Something that has taken her multiple years to do. I like how she said to ''visualize goals." Visualize yourself fitting into clothes. Visualize yourself looking the way you want to look. This is great advice.I want to thank Val for taking the time to chat with me. Tom Long (@tomlongfit) has been on his health journey for 13 years. He initially lost 145lbs going from 300bsl to 155lbs. Now he is working on body building and has gained 30 pounds. He works as a personal trainer helping other people succeed on their health journey. His weight loss journey began during his senior year of high school. His doctor described him as obese. This was a huge wake up call. His mom invited him to a weight watchers meeting. Initially, he resisted but eventually he went and found the group to be really supportive and instrumental in his weight loss. Before he started losing weight, he was addicted to food and overeating. He is also a fan of sweets like myself. He described his relationship with food as a "constant battle."He talked about losing weight and said "calorie counting" is a great tool to lose weight. He also wrote down what he was eating when he started losing weight. Now he uses the My Fitness Pal app to record what he eats or the number of calories he consumes in a day, which is around 2400-2600. He does meal prepping and eats lean meats like chicken, turkey, and ground beef. His diet depends on if he is bulking to add muscle or cutting to burn fat. In a day he usually eats 3 meals with a couple snacks.Like I said he earlier, he works as a physical trainer. He is in the gym for work and also works out everyday. Before every workout, he writes down what he needs to work on.

Stacey Maki (@weightlossweirdo) has tried multiple different diets. At her heaviest she weighed 230lbs. Then in 2018, she started losing and has since lost 70lbs. She is now maintaining her weight at 153lbs. She is toning and adding muscle to her body with the hope of losing 10 more pounds.Check it out here: bit.ly/39T5NmIWhen she started losing weight she used the app "My fitness Pal" to record what food she was eating. This was the second time she started the keto diet. The first time she didn't realize all the foods she could eat. Now she does and has found food that she enjoys eating like Turkey meat or chicken. She talked about how her relationship with food has evolved. She used to binge eat or eat when she was bored. This lead to bad habits and gaining weight. Now she drinks more coffee and about a gallon of water a day. Currently she is doing 75hard which is a fitness program created by Andy Frisella. In this program she is not able to drink alcohol which she has cut down on while losing weight. She said her family would drink so she drank too. Alcohol has a lot of calories, so cutting down on it can make a huge difference. She also mentioned drinking seltzer or water with vodka which is also a healthier alternative if you feel the need to drink. When we were discussing mentality, she said "you need to be self motivated." I agree 100%. It's you vs you and if you aren't able to motivate yourself, weight loss will be difficult. She also said weight loss has "taken more self discipline than I thought." This also true. I think this is where people need to be "mentally prepared" for weight loss. Don't be surprised if it's harder than you thought. Be willing to keep an open mind and push yourself harder and harder.I want to say thank you to Stacey for taking the time. I also love her ig name! #17 Losing Weight In London with @Solweightlossjourney

It was a pleasure speaking with you Sol who hails from England. When I asked him how he felt about his journey so far he said he feels "really motivated." I think its great to see people who are able to derive energy from their own story. I think he has a fascinating diet that is clearly working for him. He talked about eating carbs but he eats less fats and unhealthy sugars. He also gives himself a cheat day which alleviates some pressure to be perfect. He also talked about drinking about 4 liters of water each day. Water plays such a big role in weight loss. He talked about anxiety around a scale. He weighs himself 1 time per week at the group he attends via "Slimming World." As one of the younger people in the community he is able to learn observe their perspectives. He talked about working out 4-5 days per week doing Zumba or other activity that he enjoys. I think it's awesome he has found a fun and sustainable way to burn calories and get exercise. His definition of health is "being comfortable." I thought that was a great answer and a unique one. Thank you for taking the time Sol. #16 Losing 90lbs After 3 Pregnancies I @MamaKatieLady

Katie Tucker (@mamakatielady) has lost over 90lbs in the last 5 years after giving birth 3 times.Check it out here: bit.ly/39pdd0CWhen she talked about beginning weight loss, I thought she gave great advice. "Do 1 thing at a time." When most people start losing weight, they usually try to implement too many things at once. This is overwhelming and usually leads to bad feelings or failure. That's why there are so many yo yo dieters. Her relationship with food has also changed over the last 5 years. She used to be "addicted to food." One thing she emphasized was that her relationship has only recently improved. She was actually losing weight, but she still didn't have the best relationship with food. She is still experimenting and figuring out what works for herself, even years later! I think everyone who decides to try losing weight, they have to do their own experimentation to figure out what works best for them. This isn't a 1 week or 1 month process. This needs to occur for months or even years. She also said "people give up too fast." It's sad but true. When you are doing weight loss for the wrong reasons, it's easy to give up. When you view weight loss as a learning process. You learn what food you like. What activity you like. What things you like thinking about. Then weight loss can become a lifestyle. Something you enjoy that's a life long pursuit.Thank you Katie for joining me, I really appreciate you taking the time! Be sure to follow her on Instagram @Mamakatielady!

#15 How To Lose 90lbs of Fat I @Faithfully_Fit_Mom5

#15 How To Lose 90lbs of Fat I @Faithfully_Fit_Mom5

Ashley Remington (@Faithfully_fit_mom5) has lost more than 90lbs of fat! She has learned about herself and evolved in other areas of life like physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. These, I believe are the key factors that help most people succeed with weight loss. When I asked her how she felt about her weight loss as a whole, she said she feels "extremely proud." She started thinking about weight loss in 2016. She got serious in 2017 after having feet pain and shin splints. She had difficulty walking. Her pivotal moment came when a friend invited her to workout at "Camp Gladiator." This is where a trainer meets a group of people at a park to workout. It was her first time there when a gal who was even bigger than her passed her. It was one of those "wtf moments." Then, she was nearly unable to run. She stopped. The trainer saw her stop and told the group to help her make it to the finish line. It was something she had never experienced before. The encouragement, support, and accountability consumed her and she knew that this was the activity and support she needed. She has been going to the camp ever since and enjoys working out with her friends. I like how she said you need to "start where you are." You can't be comparing yourself to others or being to critical of yourself. Weight loss is not a time to shame yourself. It is a time to learn about yourself. We talked about the "why." In order to do something difficult, you usually need a "why" or else you will be likely to give up. The "why" is a popular concept but I love how she explained her "why." Initially it was to be there for her kids. Now, it has evolved to feeling better and having more energy. Having multiple why's can make doing what you are doing much more doable, especially when times are tough. Many people want an overnight transformation. She said weight loss is a "marathon not a sprint." She also said it's "not an overnight" process. This is so true. I also like how she doesn't believe in a diet. Rather than trying to conform to say, keto. She said people "need to find out for themselves what they like eating." I think this is 100% accurate as she has found foods she likes and foods that make her feel bad. She said gluten and dairy actually give her an emotional reaction of "rage." Thank goodness she didn't eat any gluten or dairy before this interview! I want to say thank you to Ashley for taking the time to speak with me. #14 Nearly Losing Eyesight To Losing 160lbs I @VsgowlUk

I had a blast talking with Katrina (@vsgowluk ) who lives in London (she has a cool accent and amazing smile!). Like it says in the title, she has lost a whopping 160lbs over the last 3 years. She went from weighing 317 to weighing 145lbs. She has 10 more pounds to lose and she is at her goal weight. Congrats Katrina, you've been crushing it! She started weight loss after seeing her child run into the street and realized she couldn't run after him. Fortunately, there were no cars. Thinking "I can't keep up with my kids" turned out to be a big wakeup call for her. Katrina talked about how weight loss saved her eyes. She had "little bodies" floating around in her eyes due to an issue with her retina's blood vessels. Which was a result of high blood pressure . By losing weight, she improved her blood pressure. This ultimately saved her eyes. She has also noticed an amazing improvement in other areas of her life. Now she can walk faster. Doesn't feel like she is panting. She used to fall asleep a lot during her day. Now she feels like she has more energy to engage with life After trying many weight loss programs, she was able to find much more success after having VSG surgery in August 2017. After the surgery, she researched different foods on YouTube and google to eat healthier. She had great advice for people looking to start weight loss saying "get rid of junk food'' and "don't be afraid to ask for help." Now she eats food that's more nutritious and filled with complex carbs. She likes smoothies and yogurt for breakfast. For lunch and dinner she likes having protein and vegetables. She has never counted calories because it "just feels weird." I think that is great advice. You need to figure out what works best for you. We are all unique, there is no perfect all encompassing strategy for weight loss. We talked about her activity and her answers surprised me! She said she's gone trampolining. Taken twerk and dance classes. She's also done a zipline. She had great advice for someone thinking about exercising. "Get of your bus" earlier so you can walk more. Look into getting a chiropractor, especially if you have a higher weight. The chiropractor can help with mobility and stretching to make sure you aren't putting to much pressure on your joints. I liked her mentality too. She "doesn't want to be skinny." She wants to be "healthy." I totally agree! I'm very happy for you Katrina and look forward to following your journey! #13 "Stoked" On Losing 80lbs I @Fat2fitbaff

It was a fun interviewing Chris Baff (@fat2fitbaff) who lives in South Africa. Check it out here: bit.ly/3fsr2MW I feel like we are similar people. Both have ankle issues and enjoy getting after life. 2 years ago in December 2018 he had ankle issues and kidney stones. This sparked him to start thinking about his health more. He has lost 80lbs.He worked with a weight loss group call "Weigh Less." They basically told him what to eat and he followed their instructions. He said he "preferred the prescriptive method" because then he can focus on other things like exercise which is something he enjoys. When he started losing weight, he would eat 6 meals/snacks each day. He focuses on eating more proteins, fruit, and veggies. After going through rehab he kept increasing the intensity. Working with a biokineticist which is similar to a trainer, they just have a cooler name which I probably didn't spell correctly. Once his ankle was stronger he started doing more running and biking. He has even done some 100 kilometer routes. He tries to work out each day and burn around 500 calories a day. Then he knows he put in the work for that day. He also likes the numbers and uses a smart watch to track workouts and the number of calories he burned. In talking about his mentality, he said he feels more "energy, focus, confidence, and self esteem." He also said he just struts more which is awesome to hear, I know the feeling. It's amazing how weight loss can improve people's lives in ways they don't expect.I want to say thank you to Chris for taking the time to share his health journey. #11 Earning $4000 By Losing 162lbs In 1 Year! I @Mangojh2

Kim (@mangojh2) has lost 160 pounds in 1 years time. She has earned $4,000 by placing bets on her weight loss through "Healthy Wage." She has tried losing weight many times with different diets that all failed. She's believes her success has been due to being "mentally and physically prepared" for weight loss. She started losing weight by combining the ketogenic diet with fasting. She started fasting 14 hours. Then 16 hours. Then 18. Now she does OMAD which means eating 1 meal per day. She talked about doing 1 and 2 day fasts. She has worked her way into longer and longer fasts. She recently did a 7 day fast. She explained she only feels hungry for the first 24 hours. After that it subsides. She feels good while fasting and has lots of energy during the multi day fasts. You may be wondering why she's doing long fasts. Well, she signed up at "Healthy Wage" to put her money on the line by betting on herself to lose a certain amount of weight in a certain amount of time. If she loses the weight and wins her bet, she can earn thousands of dollars. So far, she has won about $4,000 dollars. She could have won more as one of her group bets won the $10,000 dollar prize, but lost it in a technicality. I think it's clear you need to know yourself to succeed with weight loss. You need to know what motivates you. Kim clearly understands she is motivated by money and uses it to her advantage. She started exercising by getting a smart watch and counting her steps. She is still doing that to this day. She started with a goal of 2000 steps per day. Now she's at 4000 steps. You don't need to be in the gym for hours and hours to have a meaningful weight loss. Kim's story clearly illustrates that. I like how she described herself as in "chaos" before, and now she's "very disciplined." Kim has made significant strides with her weight that have greatly improved her life in many areas. She said before weight loss things were always "hard." Now, things are much easier and she has more confidence and knows she can do anything she sets her mind too. This was a great interview, thanks for taking the time Kim! #9 Losing 100lbs After Pregnancy I @Shiannesmithfit

I had a fantastic time talking with Shianne Smith (@schiannesmithfit). She has lost 100lbs after giving birth to her 3rd child. We talked about how weight loss doesn't need to be fast. There is no perfect weight loss rate. She has been losing a steady amount of weight in a sustainable manner, which I really respect. She described her progress as "great progress" which I agree with 100%! When we talked about food she said "food is not the enemy." It's so true and so easy to blame your food for your issues. But the truth is you are buying the food from the store. You are putting the food in your house. If you are buying food you lose control with, as Shianne said, "food is not the enemy." She was also someone who had issues with food. It took her time to eventually learn how to "eat food appropriately." I was really glad she said this because most people think they need to do a whole 180 when it comes to eating habits. She was able to lose weight without having perfect eating habits, and was slowly able to improve her eating habits over time. Shianne is apart of an Instagram group doing a challenge on Instagram called 100 days of movement. I think this is a great way to get activity since you are part of a group that you can draw inspiration from.I love how Shianne said she gained a grit and a prove them wrong attitude. She also gained more self confidence and self esteem. It's amazing how weight loss can help you gain these traits that are so valuable. She started out with a short term desire to look better. Now it has evolved into a long term life style change. She said she will "be working on her health for the rest of her life!" I want to say thank you to Shianne for taking the time to come on my show. Be sure to check out her IG and follow her @shiannesmithfit. #7 How To Lose 45lbs With Argentine Weight Loss Program "ALCO" I @Controlandoalgordo

#7 How To Lose 45lbs With Argentine Weight Loss Program "ALCO" I @Controlandoalgordo

Martin (@controlandoalgordo) who lives in Argentina is crushing his weight loss. He has lost 45 pounds. He is following the ALCO program in Argentina which was written by a well respected doctor. There is lots of research supporting the program. Martin has used this program to learn all about health, nutrition, and activity. In his program he eat 6 times a day to keep insulin levels down. Some meals are bigger, others are more of a snack. He talked about his journey being more of a lifestyle than a weight loss program. When he started he was diligent writing down what he was eating. This allows you to know what you ate and how it affected your body. He talked about how important the "quality of what you eat" is. I totally agree. The quality can have a big effect on how you feel and your health. He started exercising by walking just 10 minutes a day. Then he increased week by week. His work now pays for him to have a personal trainer over zoom. He said he likes having the trainer because it creates accountability. He sometimes doesn't feel like working out. But if he has a session planned with his trainer, he is always there and ready to go. Learning about yourself and finding what motivates you is a crucial part of weight loss that isn't talked about often. When we discussed the mentality, I like how he mentioned that little things like excuses, slipping up, being bored can build up and "take you out of the program." You need to be mindful of these things as they can lead to you quitting the program and not reaching your goals. Thank you so much to Martin. #4 "Heal the Mental" To Lose 83lbs I Shynikia Means

This was a super fun interview with Shynikia or you can call her Nikki as I totally butchered her name. I loved how she talked about the mental aspect of weight loss. If you have traumas or issues you haven't dealt with, the same patterns will occur. I agree with her 1000%. That is why I created the MizuVida Mentality Series on mizuvida.com. This is how I was able to heal my mind. And it is 1 way, among many different ways for people to health their mind or as Shynikia says "heal the mental!" We also talked about life. She said life is like a book, with a beginning, middle, and end. Right now she rewriting some of those chapters and I think I am too. I thought it was also interesting how she suffers from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. This is painful syndrome that has multiple side affects. By losing weight, she can fight against those side effects to live a better life. I am grateful for Shynikia coming on my podcast and sharing her story. I look forward to following her as she continues with her journey! Be sure to follow her on instagram at: www.instagram.com/elavated_to_live/ Be sure to also check out my socials below! #3 "Consistency is key" To Lose 50 Pounds Naturally I Caitlin Corrigan-Orosco

This was a great interview. Caitlin (@caitlincorriganorosco) has some amazing points when it comes to weight loss and living life. She was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) a little over a year ago. Since being diagnosed she has worked hard to improve her health by losing 50 pounds. This has helped her diminish or decrease the symptoms she has from PCOS like gaining weight, infertility. I love stories where someone has something bad go wrong (I don't love the bad thing!). I love when people use that as motivation to make a big change. I've done it in my life and Caitlin has done it in her. She said "consistency is key" and I totally agree with her. Being able to eat something that's outside of your norm like cake for example, then know you will fall back on your plan is so important. I also like how she talked about how beauty does not mean physical attractiveness. Beauty is actually feeling good and having energy on the inside. I also like how she talked about being vulnerable. I think social media magnifies only showing your life's highlights. By sharing difficulties, you can become more authentic and show vulnerabilities are positives rather than weaknesses. If you want to connect with Caitlin be sure to follow her on Ig at @caitlincorriganorosco. Thanks again to Caitlin for sharing her story. I think it is very powerful! -Jason Tizzano Socials:Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsYCGt26DbAInstagram: www.instagram.com/mizuvida/Twitter: twitter.com/homeBlog: https://www.mizuvida.com/blog-1'FB: www.facebook.com/groups/616211009287558/Pinterest: www.pinterest.com/themizuvida/_saved/ Podcasts:Itunes: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jason-tizzanos-mizuvida-podcast/id1534669422Spotify: podcasters.spotify.com/podcast/1o9PSjfdoRrv7MODWvLDRj/overview

#2 "It's all Mental'' How To Lose 116lbs With Bariatric Surgery I April Williams

#2 "It's all Mental'' How To Lose 116lbs With Bariatric Surgery I April Williams

My guest, April Williams had bariatric surgery over a year ago. Since then she has steadily been losing weight. She has lost over 116 pounds. In this conversation we discussed a range of topics. I really resonated with her talking about living life and having a fun time from college into her 20s and 30s. I think this is true for most people. She tried losing weight multiple times but found it difficult to keep it going after losing 60 pounds. She had bariatric surgery in 2019 which removes part of your stomach. It's been a huge learning experience for her. It takes a lot of mental power to adapt to having a smaller stomach. We talked about having trouble with your body and not seeing yourself when you look in the mirror. This has definitely occurred for me as well. I am happy she is able to now see her real self thanks to weight loss and putting an emphasis on health. Now she is at ninja level being able to throwaway a piece of cherry pie once she is full. Very cool to hear! We also talked about portion sizing, calories, and the mental aspect of losing weight. At one point she said "It's all mental" and I totally agree with her. She also said weight loss starts in the kitchen! It really does. Being in control of the food you eat and the amount of calories you consume is key to losing weight. After having surgery, April is an expert on the bariatric surgery subject. I would absolutely recommend contacting her if you are interested in bariatric surgery. She is also producing content and building a community for people who've had bariatric surgery or are interested in it. Here are links to her content below. Check it out!
