Katie Warner: Self Love is a Lie… and Other Bullsh*t I Used to Believe

Katie Warner is an author, speaker, digital course creator, and solo mom of 4, dedicated to inspiring self-love and empowerment in women across the globe. Katie birthed Salt Water & Soul Fire in 2017 as a movement to support and guide women, particularly mothers, to take radical responsibility for loving themself, leading themself, and the intentional creation of their life. Since then, she’s created several online courses, written an eBook titled “Self Love is a Lie… and Other Bullshit I Used to Believe”, hosted many in-person retreats for women, and published tons of epic content for her community across social media platforms. Katie draws from her personal experiences, amazing coaching skills, and natural ability to ‘see things differently’, in addition to a profound knowledge of energy and the law of attraction, to guide her clients as they “turn the kaleidoscope” and begin to view their life through a lens of personal power, self-leadership, and unapologetic self-love.

Let's Talk Times of Transition & Stepping Into the Unknown

Let's Talk Times of Transition & Stepping Into the Unknown

This week is a solo episode because it's been awhile since we've caught up 1:1! I talk through what I've been reflecting on under the themes of times of transition and stepping into the unknown. This whole last year has truly felt like a masterclass of taking inspired action while learning how to enjoy right where I am - here and now. There's so much we just can't plan for these days - even as the world starts to open back up. I don't know about you, but I feel like I can FEEL the momentum which is exciting but then it can quickly turn into overwhelm once I remember how there's still a lot to be figured out and clarified before I can really make more plans.

Hope you enjoy this episode - stay tuned for a new interview releasing next Friday.

In this episode these incredible women shared their stories and experiences with caregiving and the moments in which they realized they needed to find a new way of being that was more self-loving. Kim Flagg & Leah Shirton: emBODY Love Workshop Event at Banyan Tree Yoga

In this episode my discussion with Leah Shirton and Kim Flagg from the emBODY love workshop held at Banyan Tree Yoga studio in Nashua NH is the main focus of this episode.

Kim, owner of Banyan Tree & Leah, creator of the emBODY love workshop series - graciously invited me to join them for this event and we thought it would be fun to have a panel-like discussion as a live podcast recording. Leah, Kim, and I all have different lived experiences in terms of how we relate to our bodies - it was so great to hear their perspectives and be able to highlight different topics such as chronic illness, endometriosis, motherhood, and more.

Lorrine Patterson: Freeing Your Heart for (Self) Love

Lorrine Patterson: Freeing Your Heart for (Self) Love

Content warning: childhood abuse, abusive relationships, suicidal ideations, sexual content In today's episode I'm excited to bring you this conversation with Lorrine Patterson who shares her story about how she recovered from childhood abuse and a series of marriages and relationships that were not the love-based partnership she desired. We talk about her rock bottom when she was 42 and what steps she took to rebuild her life which ultimately led her to finding the love of her life on Tinder. There is a lovely happy ending to her story and I know this episode may help anyone out there who is struggling with relationships.  About Lorrine: Lorrine Patterson was born in Guam but never got to experience that version of island life. Her family moved to Oahu, Hawaii when she was only a few months old and they stayed there until Lorrine turned 12. After watching her parents divorce, she moved to California with her mother. These experiences during her formative years helped create a lasting sense of wonder combined with curiosity for the world around her. Lorrine earned her BS in Business Management and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. She has worked in the hotel industry, property management, and facilities management and specializes in customer service. Passionate about all she does, Lorrine stewed over the idea of writing a book for the better part of a decade. It wasn’t until the realities of pandemic life in 2020 took hold that she decided it was finally time to put pen to paper. Through the suffering and troubling times Lorrine finally discovered her true passion and purpose in life, bringing some goodness to a world in need. Her first book, Freeing Your Heart For Love is a memoir. Lorrine is a simple woman who believes everything happens for a reason and, even if we aren’t meant to understand why, we are all guided to the right place at the right time. Armed with this theory, she approaches each new day with a contagious enthusiasm. Catherine McCollian: Introductory Overview of Human Design & Using HD for Self-Acceptance

Hi friends! I’m excited to share this episode from my conversation with Catherine McCollian - she’s a Human Design coach, Tarot reader, and host of “This is the Spiritual Work” podcast. I wanted to have Catherine on to talk about HD as it’s been a system I’ve learned a lot about over the last several months. It has been so awesome to share HD with my friends & family and just generally see how experimenting with it has impacted the direction of my life and how I feel along the way. I’m sure I’ll do more episodes on the topic at some point and I hope this can be a good introduction to folks who may have never heard of Human Design. Transactional vs Transformational Self-Love

Transactional vs Transformational Self-Love

Hello Podcast listeners! I am back, after taking a hiatus to work on launching my new leadership business and taking the plunge into full time self-employment. Today's episode is inspired by a podcast I recently listened to on Brene Brown's Dare to Lead podcast.

https://brenebrown.com/podcast/brene-with-aiko-bethea-on-inclusivity-at-work-the-heart-of-hard-conversations/

Aiko Bethea and Brene speak about the theme of transactional vs transformational change within organizations (around diversity, equity, and inclusion) and it made me think about my own journey with self-love and self-care, and how my own practices have gone from being very transactional, a means to an end, to more transformational in nature in that I accept that the journey to self-acceptance is a process, it takes time. I do not need any material things, a career, time in the gym or the spa to get there - I just need to take small steps to get to know myself and love myself more everyday.

I hope you enjoy this episode!

Timothy Bowen on finding the right therapist, mental health, dating, and the power of community.

Tim Bowen and I met 7 years ago when we worked together at HubSpot. We became friends and work spouses and have continued to stay friends despite no longer working together. In this episode, Tim and I talk about our own experiences in therapy, dating, and community. Tim’s own journey with therapy and his personal transformation process deeply inspired me to invest in myself and seek outside support. I can’t wait for you all to hear his story!

Black Lives Matter: Radical self love & the Racist Roots of Fatphobia & Diet Culture

Black Lives Matter: Radical self love & the Racist Roots of Fatphobia & Diet Culture

In this solo episode, Katherine reflects on what it means to be anti-racist and expresses the values and ideals she strives to uphold via this podcast. The concept of Radical Self Love as learned from Sonya Renee Taylor is explored as well as a small piece of the history of why fatness has been demonized in America, especially in Black women as learned through Sabrina Strings’ book “Fearing the Fat Body”. If you have any feedback on this episode, please reach out. I consider this to be the beginning of a never ending conversation and my daily work to fight against systems of oppression in our world.

Introducing it’s OK to love yourself, my journey to self love and self acceptance

Introducing it’s OK to love yourself, my journey to self love and self acceptance

The idea for It’s OK to love yourself has been kicking around my brain for the past year and I’m finally doing the damn thing. I have always learned so much and felt less alone in my own struggles when hearing others share their stories openly with the world. I will be interviewing a series of guests to share their own stories in the hopes that some of you may feel less alone, too. In this episode, I discuss growing up fat and how that led to years of dieting and weight cycling including an almost year long stint on Keto. Eventually I learned that the problem was never my body, it was my mind and I have been on a quest ever since to unlearn years of negative self-talk and limiting beliefs.
