Why you shouldn't pick your course type first
One of the biggest mistakes I see in the course creation, course development world, is someone picking their course type first.
In today's episode, we're breaking down the 3 course types you should work towards in your business and the mistakes people make along the way.
3 Course Types:
Signature Course (the BIG one)
Focused Course
Mini Course (Listen to hear why this is Katy's favorite!)
Whichever course you create, know that there are many different ways it could look and be delivered. Creating a course is an involved and sometimes complicated process. Katy can help you get started with course creation services.

The real impact of branding
Most of us start our business thinking the logo is the most important thing. The logo doesn't mean much without a consistent brand behind it. But do you even know where to start?
Today we are talking to Lauren Felter from Felter Unfiltered as we break down branding and how it can impact our businesses.
Lauren is the owner of Felter Unfiltered, she prides herself on a no-shame, no-shade approach to her web design, branding, and design education. She helps business owners, freelancers, and 9-to-5ers ensure design does the selling for them. Because good design does more than just look good – it get results!
Felter is also a proud former ladder climber. She spent the first decade of her career overseeing marketing, operations, and technical systems for a university admissions office, while also teaching design as adjunct faculty. After following the traditional path to success but only finding intense burnout and an identity crisis at the top, she blew it all up in January 2020 to do it her own way.
When she’s not fangirling over a font or explaining the difference between teal and turquoise, you’ll find Felter conversing in Office quotes with her boyfriend, watching Kardashians for the hundredth time, adventuring with friends, or enjoying a good podcast.

Why all businesses will look different
How many times have you compared yourself to someone else in business? Or in motherhood?
Maybe you read a book outlining the best morning routine only to feel like a failure when it didn't work for you.
Running a business is not a one size fits all which is exactly what I say about social media and courses. It will look different for every person, business and lifestyle.
It's up to you to figure out your best fit.
In today's episode, we are talking to Kim DiFillippo. Kim helps introverted, driven moms overcome the overwhelm so they can scale their businesses and be the CEO and moms they want to be.
We cover a lot of topics all relating to the way we are told or expected to run a business and navigate motherhood. Kim helps break down how to be ok with it as you figure out your next best steps.

What is entitled pricing?
Pricing is a hot topic in business. Most of us start having zero idea of what to charge for our skills.
Brittney and I are breaking down this topic across all industries. She believes in having a value to your service and feeling valued and taken care of financially. But when she hears a stylist charging $600-$800 for color, she sees a red flag.
We talk about setting prices based on the skills you bring to the table. As well as what it can do for you as you build your business.

The BS of the Instagram Hustle
You don't have to "do it all"
Tracy and I discuss the BS on having to “do it all” or do it the way they sell you.
You get way better results, have more fun, and build a *sustainable* business - even when you’ve only got a couple hours a day to work - when you focus on your personality tendencies and strengths and say NO to everything that’s not the Most You (like offers, marketing and sales strategies, and even how you work each day).
Tracy Stanger is an anti-hustle business coach who believes we shouldn’t have to choose between meaningful work and feeling fully present for motherhood and our own damn lives. She’s on a mission to prove we CAN have time for our dreams when we focus on RESULTS instead of just checking shit off a to-do list. Her Less But Better™ business strategy helps moms make more money and more impact, with more time for rest, and less stress.

All the online business BS
Emma and I cover a ton of different pieces of the online business space clearing up plenty of BS along the way. Her experience as an engagement specialist brings a different perspective to social media and online business because she and her team are constantly in other accounts. They see the ins and outs of all the things online.
Emma says: So many people are full of shit. The lack of transparency blows me away. I am grateful that we're starting to see old bro marketing tactics die out, but again and again I have people come to me saying they were brutally burned by some of the most well-known players in the game and felt like they were set up to fail. It's just not that hard to freaking communicate and show receipts.
At the end of the day, we all started our businesses for some form of freedom. Yet so many people are struggling behind closed doors. We can't keep putting on these shiny happy faces or else we WILL set ourselves up to fail.
Emma Barrera (she/her) is the Founder & CEO of Right Hand Glam, The Engagement Agency, which supports scaling entrepreneurs in increasing brand awareness, organically growing their following, and converting conversations to cash. Over the past three years, Emma has scaled to a multi-six figure agency with a full-time employee and six contractors. She has been a TEDx and HOBY speaker, and has served over 250 clients and 100 students through DFY services, mentorship, and her program, The Engagement Academy, which gives service providers the tools, tech, and tenacity to add engagement to their product suite!

Why you shouldn't pick your course type first
One of the biggest mistakes I see in the course creation, course development world, is someone picking their course type first.
In today's episode, we are breaking down the 3 course types you should work towards in your business and the mistakes people make along the way.

Katy Calls BS on the coaching industry with Faith
Have you been frustrated by the coaching industry? Today we are diving into the difference between a coach, consultant and mentor. We also discuss this largely unregulated industry and how to navigate investing in a coach that works for you.
My guest, Faith Burtamekh, is the founder and visionary behind Faith Marie & Co. She has 20+ years of coaching experience and just a few more than that of life experience. Her friends like to refer to her as a former teacher and principal turned serial entrepreneur.
Faith’s clients are creative entrepreneurs who are overwhelmed by their own great ideas, struggle to execute their plans and want a simple system for scaling their business more sustainably. So they stop feeling bogged down and scattered, and finally feel confident and achieve their goals.
She lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband and daughter, and their dog, Moonee. Faith is obsessed with all things buffalo plaid, personal development, and office supplies. I love a good fine point gel pen and a fancy notebook.
What you should know about her: She loves simple systems and routines because they’re one of the fastest ways to get yourself out of a rut and into a new habit. Faith has spent years honing her coaching skills and developing her active listening. So, you know you’re in good hands! But more than that, she has a huge heart for her clients.
Faith loves nothing more than helping a stressed out, overworked, yet ambitious woman to redefine success and their belief in themselves, so that they disrupt and dominate their industry, make a bigger impact with using the skills they’ve mastered, and get paid top dollar for the value they deliver.
