Pedestrian Plight
The pedestrian could be me, could be you, could be one of us walking on the street (or the sidewalk, if possible), or trying to deal with a challenge, where the driver(s) of the car(s) around you or the support infrastructure and poorly-planned software and technology tools are not on your side, even if you are in the crosswalk.

Looking Back
A look back to some early projects and how they seeded other ideas and the joys of fiddling instead of launching. Not. Also, a look back at where your host got into computers... what's your story?

Dropping Anchor
Sometimes you need to grow into your own, and some of those times that means your own domain, website, and publication system for podcasts and other such things. That means the current tool set needs to drop down to second position, and that's what is coming...

Mono or Micro
Solo entrepreneurs, do we work as a monolith, or consider delegation and collaboration to human microservices? Similar to the way software works? An open topic for future discussion, to be sure...

We Need MeOps
Developers get all of the tools for automation and connecting workflows and other tools and processes, and the rest get IFTTT and Zapier? At least bring back Yahoo! Pipes, but really the products and services you and I use day to day should be useful. Rather than letting us do this or that, enable us to this, that, and the other things!

Solve Stuff
Shall we publish this podcast more frequently? Maybe even, periodically?
Seems like a good idea.
The theory moving forward is, people don't really check the description of a podcast in their podcast player application to see what sorts of comments the host(s) or guest(s) have to add. Maybe a link to an article or picture referenced, or maybe contact info for the guest(s), but for the most part the show notes are hidden in the RSS feed, and rightfully so. RSS is a hint at the full content.
There is a QuogglingSand newsletter, via Substack, which I mentioned in the episode.
Please SUBSCRIBE to it!
https://quogglingsand.substack.com/
Since there's a race condition between publishing the podcast on Anchor and publishing the newsletter on Substack, the Substack newsletter will publish AFTER the episode is posted to Anchor, and so the URL for the episode will be in the corresponding newsletter.
The wheelchair article I mentioned during the episode is linked in the newsletter!
Support the Show
If you enjoy what you're hearing in this startup show, and if you would like to hear more, or if you'd like to support the larger canvas of projects your host is working on, buy him a coffee! Funds contributed here actually will go toward coffee, be that a spend on beans, on brewing devices, mineral additives for distilled water, urmex to clean the devices... actual coffee!
In addition, you can like, share, subscribe, re-share, re-subscribe, and eventually participate in live stream chats or even some drop-in audio, most likely via Telegram (or maybe something else, but not Clubhouse).
Either way, I thank you for listening.

Shiny Metal Distractions
Does it count to chase a sprint?
Progress, but rarely as planned. Why engineers aren't always the best project managers, perhaps.
Some thoughts on executing two smaller ideas which still leverage the core code and which might be easier to kick off and, at the same time, test out the software and general build and deploy workflow. And they're good ideas, IMHO.

Try Not To Think About It
Took a short Phoenix sojourn to visit my fully-vaccinated parents for their anniversary, and for once in a very long time I left my laptop behind on a trip.
It was not a cell from The Far Side after all, so it was either a Far Side Clone at some point, or The Mandela Effect in action (though the actual Far Side cell artwork is close, the humorous text is not... I was way off). Sadly, TheFarSide.com are not nearly so open as XKCD.com is, so a search for the real cell or the variation I described is an exercise left to the listener.
A lengthy rundown on CasaNunzia, a project we're finally advancing with some nonprofit paperwork and a plan to get it started, and a story about using some very expensive HP test equipment to measure a fermentation process in exchange for use of an autoclave... and maybe another thing or two.
Support
I'm testing out Buy Me a Coffee and maybe some other things in the near future in an attempt to enable support from far and wide from people of the world. This particular show is more of a vanity project for now, FFS should be more interesting, and of course when we get a CasaNunzia presence up and running, we'll eventually have a 501(c)(3) charity to consider.
But for now, https://buymeacoffee.com/DanHugo

Reasons Not Excuses
Well, my sprint schedule slipped. If you listened to the very first episode of this new show, you heard among the random bits of story and ramble, that I wanted to deploy the websites that correspond to this and two other new audio programs I'm a part of now, but...
As the title suggests, these are not excuses, because late is late, but I do go into substantial detail about the two reasons for my slippage.
If you like food trucks, mobile vendors, service industry, Sunnyvale, Las Vegas, python, pyramid, postgresql, stored functions, or any of a few other intertwined subjects that came up along the way, you might be interested to spend an hour, or maybe 90 minutes if you make it all the way to the end.
If you do make it to the end, there's some mention of Telegram chats coming up, because DoNotJoinClubHouse, right? Talking to myself is fine, I do it all the time, but I would like to talk to you about what you're working on, and hear what other people have to say along the way.
Thanks for listening!

Part of the ongoing discussion will be weekly sprints, working on various projects, by your host AND/OR guests and other participants. Could be technology-centric, but not always. Tune in and find out.
