When you release control, you're showing God by your actions that you trust him, and there are times in life God will ask you to release the thing that you want the most. It's a test, and if you will pass that test, at some point, God will either give you back what you wanted or bring something better into your life. God can see the big picture for our lives. He knows what's around every curve. He can see the detours, the dead ends, the shortcuts, things that we cannot see.

Breast Cancer Awareness month is a movement that aims to increase awareness and reduce the stigma linked to the symptoms and treatment of breast cancer. Na’Diah L. Smith is a 5 year Breast Cancer survivor. She will be educating us on the importance of being in tuned with our bodies and how she choose to Fight, Survive, and Thrive. Though, we bring awareness for the month of October we must continue to show support year round to those that are battling cancer everyday and those that survived may still be recovering.

The trauma that results from sexual abuse affects not just the victim and their family, but all of society. Because sexual abuse, molestation, and rape are such shame-filled events, our culture tends to suppress information about them.

On this episode Lauren and I will discuss how we went from “Victim to Survivor”.  We truly believe telling others our story, forgiving those that hurt us, and forgiving ourselves has helped us experience true healing. Yes, there’s work that still needs to be done, but our Trauma will not be the end of our story.

I pray this episode will encourage you to start your journey of true healing and letting go. It’s up to you to write a new story.
