#033: Lessons On Love (ft. Teza Lord)
Love is very difficult to define because it can be a verb but it can also be a noun. We can have love for others, pets, places, ourselves, etc, and all this can mean different things. Love can be beautiful but the constant search for love (specially outside ourselves) can become a very overwhelming. Sometimes, some people become enraptured with the idea of finding love in another person, mainly because this is where society told us happiness lies in, but also because being completely focused on someone else distracts us from our own personal issues and growth.
In this episode we discuss very controversial aspects of love, love addiction and self-love with Teza Lord, the author of the book Hybrid Vigor. In this book Teza portrays different lessons on love that are given to us by different animals. I personally enjoyed this book very much and I was very happy that Teza wanted to be part of the podcast! She is an excellent spiritual activist with and incredible story. We hope you enjoy this episode!

#031: Beyond The Emptiness - A Food Addiction Journey (ft. Rouba Chalabi)
Nowadays we are surrounded with exercise and nutrition tips, fad diets and loads of information in the media about how to achieve a healthy body. However, there is very little discussion about what is behind the root cause of the problem. What causes overeating and neglecting our bodies from a psychological perspective? Why do we find comfort in food, sometimes to an unhealthy extent? Why do we go on diets and we end up gaining back the same weight or sometimes even more?
In this episode of Spiritual Chill Pill, we discuss food addiction and overeating from a psychological perspective with food addiction counsellor Rouba Chalabi. She is also the author of the book Beyond The Emptiness: How I Found Fullness Outside of Food. She is joining us today to tell her personal story, from being an overeater from a very early age to starting a process of healing and changing limiting beliefs that helped her address the root cause of the problems around food. We hope you enjoy this episode!

#030: Modern Magical People - Integrating A Modern Life With The Spiritual World (ft. Fire Lyte)
Do you ever feel like to fit in the spiritual community you have wear white robes, talk only about love and light and lose your ability to question anything? Even more so, do you ever feel like to fit in your former group of friends you have to prove to them that you still have a logical mind and that you don't "just believe in fairies" now? Today we have a super fun episode with Fire Lyte where we talk about what it is like to be all aspects of ourselves in both worlds. We talk about how we don't stop being one person to become another, but instead how different aspects of our personality can be integrated together to live a more fulfilled modern spiritual life.
Fire Lyte has run a podcast for over ten years called Inciting a Riot where he has been interviewing witches, fairy experts, spiritual people, and even a werewolf. He encourages critical thinking in all areas of life as well as living an integrated life where we participate not only in our spiritual world, but also in areas such as politics and science. He also has an amazing new book called The Dabblers Guide To Witchcraft which comes out on September 28th (later this month!).

#029: Am I Doing It All Wrong? A Self Care Journey (ft. Nunzia Lopiccolo)
Have you always felt overwhelmed when you are feeling down and people give you advice about self-care? Like you remain wondering, what if you don't like doing these things? Or what if you don't have an idea on where to start, what to do, etc. There is a lot of talk out there about self-care but the reality is that it is a journey of self-exploration to understand what you really like and how can you make yourself feel better, in the long run! There is also a lot of confusion about self-care and self-indulgence that we address in this episode.
Join us for this lovely conversation with my dear friend Nunzia Lopiccolo where we talk about the different aspects of self-care: why it is difficult and confusing sometimes, and how can we approach things from a perspective of curiosity rather than a perspective of duty.

#027: Mental Diet - Feeding Our Minds With Positivity
In the past couple of episodes, we have dived into how our thoughts create our reality and how the way we frame things changes the reality that we experience. However, how is it possible to harness our thoughts better? In this episode, we dive into the concept of Mental Diet, which is a practice to take note of our thoughts and every time a negative thought comes to our mind we reframe it into a thought that produces a better emotion within ourselves. Also, we dive into the emotional scale and how emotions rate among each other so we have a better understanding of how we can climb this ladder.
Join us in this conversation where we discuss our self imposed challenge to feed our minds with positivity and how that has impacted our daily lives. We hope you enjoy this episode!

#026: The Art Of Letting Go And The Importance Of Grieving
We have all experienced change in our lives at some point (expected or unexpected) and we have had to let go of the past to move forward towards the future. This process is called grieving and there is no other way to go past it than through the process. When grieving relationships, sometimes the process is slightly trickier because maybe we think that there are things we could have done better, or that we there are ways in which we would recuperate the relationship and not wanting to do so makes us feel guilty. We also experience a lot of pressure from society to have a timeline for grieving, and appear strong and stand up for ourselves. And even though those things are somewhat helpful, when it impedes the process of grieving and letting go they do not serve us.
In this episode, we talk about the technique of "letting go" from David R. Hawkins, where we explain how to gradually let go of the feelings attached to a situation and finally start grieving the past. This process manages to link limiting beliefs with bodily sensations and feelings and as we let go of the latter we also move past the limiting beliefs. We explain also, how we have applied these techniques to our past grieving process and what that looked like. We hope you find this episode useful!

#025: Manifestation - Can Thoughts Create Your Reality?
Perhaps you have heard at some point the idea that we can attract the things that we want by just directing our thoughts to it, or perhaps you have already read the book The Secret and started implementing some of its techniques, or perhaps you have never heard of "manifestation" before. Whichever level you are in, the main questions are the same: Do you know exactly how you can direct your thoughts to manifest your reality? We don't either but we are in the process of learning!
In this episode, we would like to discuss manifestation, what it is and how these techniques have played in our lives. Is it just positive thinking and intent or there is more to it? We discuss the science behind it backed up by quantum physics and different techniques we currently apply in our daily lives. We also discuss why it is more difficult to manifest in certain areas than others due to limiting beliefs. We hope you enjoy this episode!

#024: When The Universe Slaps You In The Face
Finally, we are back after a short break and we are here to discuss what has been on our minds in the past couple of weeks and months. As we started this journey we wanted to show the perspective of the learner including the times in which we are not so put together and what do we do about it. In this episode, we wanted to discuss the non-linear spirituality journey and how it is possible to fall back into old patterns of anxiety when confronted with your shadow and deep-rooted limiting beliefs. This is what some people might call spiritual depression or the dark night of the soul. Some of our limiting beliefs make us think that once we have achieved a state of bliss or any other achievement is it impossible to fall from Grace. This is farther from the truth and, even more so, should be expected because doing spirituality work is not a “cure” against all things. In this episode, we discuss what spiritual depression might look like physically, a couple of techniques that worked for us when going through the process and what limiting beliefs we should let go of in order to remove the pressure from ourselves if having a perfect life. We hope you enjoy this episode!

#022: A Real Story Of Alignment With Bree Brown
The power of manifestation and the law of attraction is undeniable. But what happens when we are vibrating at low frequencies? Sometimes when we are in these states we keep attracting things that are vibrating at the same frequency as us. These things can be very beautiful but also very dark, depending on our inner states. So what to do when this happens? This week we have with us Bree Brown who is a successful entrepreneur, mother and wife, but also an incredible storyteller! She tells us her incredible story of alignment and manifestation and how she applied spiritual techniques to increase her vibration and attract the beautiful life she desired. Her story is absolutely fantastic so we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

#021: Regain Control Of Your Mind With Hiba Balfaqih
Welcome back to another amazing Spiritual Chill Pill episode! This week we have with us Hiba Balfaqih, the creator of the therapy modality called MindHacking. This technique focuses on reprogramming the mind by replacing outdated codes stored in our brains, and replacing them with newer more positive beliefs. Exactly in the same way we would update the software in a computer every so often, we can upgrade our minds. By releasing these old codes, or limiting beliefs, we can change the outlook we have on certain problems and ultimately manifest a much better reality.
Join us in this super fun episode where Hiba explains her whole journey, talks about self-belief and manifestation and dives into how pain can be a way for our bodies to request our attention. This is a true master class! We hope you enjoy it and much as we do!

#020: It’s Not You, It’s... Me? - Part II
This week we are back with the second half of our episode about relationships! We continue discussing a new set of toxic mindsets that we have experienced in our relationships, and have caused them to eventually end. In this episode, we discuss anger as a toxic emotion when handled incorrectly, but also as a very useful emotion (when embraced the right way) as a signal that something/someone trespass our boundaries. We also discuss the fear of being alone as a very toxic mindset that exists in the collective consciousness and does not serve us anymore.
Last but not least we touch on respect as a key element in all of our relationships. Sadly, currently there exists a culture of "disposable and anonymous" dating which does not give value to the individual. In this episode, we discuss ways in which we can rise above that and have more respect for everybody we encounter in our dating journeys.

#019: Relationships - It’s Not You, It’s... Me? - Part I
Welcome to this new episode where we discuss all about toxic mindsets relationships and what to do about them! Relationships are a common source of suffering for people, but what’s really behind that suffering (in our experience) is a set of mindsets or limiting beliefs. In this episode, we go deep into how spirituality and other self-development techniques have helped us improve or change those mindsets in order to have more fulfilling relationships with others, but more importantly, a more fulfilling relationship with OURSELVES! Join us in Part I of a two-part episode where we touch on Guilt, Attachment and Jealousy. Some of the concepts outlined have already been discussed in Episode 10 but we wanted to go deeper into how they show up in relationships as different forms of sabotage. Being a witchcraft practitioner, coach, animist, environmentalist, and author of the book Witchbody, she walks us through seeing the magic and energy in all living and non-living things. #017: Journaling - Why Getting It All Out Is Free Therapy!
Welcome back to this new episode about journaling! We mentioned this habit of putting our inner thoughts and feelings in writing in one of our first episodes. Since then many people have asked us questions such as: what do we journal about? What do the entries look like? What is the best way for people to start? In this episode, we open our journals to the public to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly (the majority of it)! Moreover, we discuss how journaling has helped us realise our progress and changes in behaviour over the years, as well as cultivating a clearer perspective on past events. Join us in this heartwarming journey through our inner thoughts and past versions of ourselves where we don’t hide anything and we embrace all of these facets with love but also a bit of humour. Disclaimer: This episode contains references to suicidal thoughts that might be triggering for certain audiences. Therefore we advise you to listen at your discretion.

#016: Intuition - Let Your Feelings Guide You
Intuition is that inner compass that everybody has that moves you towards things that are beneficial for you and away from things that can be detrimental for you. Even though everyone has this tool, from very young we learn not to listen to these gut feelings because they appear to be "irrational". Funnily enough, sometimes it is people and society that tells us this and those people that deemed us as irrational or emotional more often than not are people who would not benefit in us actioning upon those emotions. So how can we free ourselves from that and listen to our intuition more?
In this episode, we chat about our own experiences with intuition in career, relationships and life in general. We discuss our experiments to get more attuned with our gut feeling and get closer to our values and life purpose. We also discuss books that have been very eye-opening in the area of intuition and have sparked a lot of shift in mindset. This episode is very geared towards women intuition which is the perspective that we have as hosts but we would love to hear more takes on this subject! We hope you enjoy it!

#015: Empowerment Through Forgiveness
What does it mean to forgive a person or a situation? Some people look at forgiveness as accepting the situation, absolving a person and/or renouncing control. Some people decide not to forgive and instead hold grudges that in the long term become unhealthy. However, this doesn't have to be the only way. Forgiveness can instead be a tool of empowerment. We regain control about how we feel about a particular person or a situation and integrate the lessons that this encounter has brought to us. Of course, we acknowledge this is also one of the hardest things to do in life, and everybody has their timelines to allow themselves to forgive. Our goal is not to push people into something they aren't ready, but rather discuss the option of forgiveness in the light of personal growth.
In this episode, we talk about forgiveness from our very personal perspectives. We discuss how changing our understanding and acknowledgment of a situation has helped us free ourselves from the control that others have on our emotional state. Moreover, we discuss what the path to forgiveness entails in different situations, small and big, and how we can apply radical empathy to make the process slightly easier.

#014: Healing Through Yoga With Kat Owens (she/her)
Yoga is an ancient practice that has been imported into the Western World for many years already as a way to cultivate our feelings of well-being. However, the yoga teachings go much deeper than a single form of cultivating physical capabilities. It is a form of healing for individuals as well as society. The sad truth is that some of the depth of the yoga teachings is lost in western societies due to the resistance to bringing spirituality to the forefront and the lack of inclusion and diversity.
This week we have a lovely chat with our friend and favorite yoga teacher Kat Owens (she/her). She is here to tell us all about trauma-informed yoga and trauma healing through yoga. She emphasizes the importance of spiritual practices that align with outer actions toward social justice and collective healing. The understanding that each body is different, and each person is carrying its own set of unique experiences; therefore, the practice needs to be made inclusive to facilitate the healing as individuals as well as a society.

#013: Thoughts On Dealing With Overwhelm
There are times in life where we think we have a spiritual routine nailed down, everything is love and light, and boom!... Suddenly life gets quite busy, and you fall off the wagon. There is a temptation to criticize ourselves in those moments and try rigorously to get back into a routine. We present the alternative of asking ourselves if those routines fit our current circumstances.
The first months of 2021 have been hectic for us two, and we have felt quite overwhelmed with many aspects of our lives. As this happened, some of the routines and habits we had have changed. We had to adapt to new circumstances and settings in our lives and deconstruct our strict spiritual practices into little moments of mindfulness spread throughout the day. But more importantly, we talk about the self-talk that we use when faced with the feeling of overwhelm and how we are trying to be more compassionate with ourselves, instead of convincing ourselves that we aren't ticking all the boxes.

#011: Are We All One? The Answer Is Yes!
Welcome to the Law of One! We have referenced this book multiple times in our podcast, but it's time to dive a bit deeper into the content of this truly fascinating spiritual writing. For most of you, some of the content will sound slightly foreign and, at times, outlandish. However, the main point we wanted to bring forward is the beautiful underlying message of oneness.
Join us in this episode to discuss the definitions of separation and oneness, the understanding of our planes or dimensions of existence, how our soul evolves through time, among other super interesting subjects brought to us by Ra, the social memory complex behind this captivating piece of writing. Don't know what a social memory complex is or how channeling works? Then this is a great episode to get your toes in the water with these subjects, or if everything fails, join us for laughs at some of the shocking statements this book brings forward.

#010: Feeling Guilty? Don't!
Guilt is an emotion that a lot of people have experienced at some point in their lives. In simple terms, it's the feeling that we deserve blame and maybe even punishment. However, spiritual teachings show us that this feeling has no actual benefit and it's a symptom of separation. There is no point in regretting or blaming ourselves for what happened since, at every single point in time, we always acted as best as we could with the knowledge that we had.
We have been talking in past episodes briefly about this feeling and why we shouldn't feel guilty. Still, we wanted to expand more in-depth on why this is yet another feeling that comes hand-in-hand with lower self-esteem, lack of self-love, and the belief that we should feel blame, even for outcomes which we have no control. Join us in this conversation to explore the feelings of guilt, which might get enhanced as you start your spiritual journey, and why it might be better to switch perspective to avoid feeling guilty altogether.

#009: Exploring Our Inner Darkness Or Shadow Self
One aspect that often gets left out when embarking on self-development is embracing the negative aspects of ourselves or the characteristics in ourselves that we dimmed as negative. Shadow work is a practice of accepting, healing, and giving love to parts of ourselves that we tend to reject or attack. By accepting our humanness, we understand ourselves better and learn to love ourselves more.
Join us in this conversation about shadow work, our personal experiences with it, and different techniques that it is possible to apply when faced with the darker aspects of our psyche.

#008: When The Hardest Person To Love Is Yourself
There is a lot of talk about self-love out there, but the concept still feels foreign to many people. What does loving yourself mean? Sometimes it's easy to confuse self-indulgence with self-love. We allow ourselves to carry on behaviors just because "they feel good" instead of analyzing if they are right for us. We are critical of ourselves to an extent we would never be to others. We care for other people, but we don't take care of ourselves. We put ourselves last. That's how we become the hardest person to love in our lives.
Join us in this conversation about self-love and our experiences developing a healthier relationship with our minds. We discuss how self-love possibly starts by changing our heads' critical voices and creating a kinder voice. A voice trickles down to all aspects of our lives and can revert to self-destructive behavior and self-sabotage.

#007: 2020 Retrospective - The Beauty In Our Struggles
This year coming to an end has presented immense challenges but also tremendous learning opportunities. As we come to a close, it is a great time to analyze the beauty in our struggles and be grateful for them as they become great avenues to get to know ourselves and achieve higher consciousness. In this episode, we discuss how the circumstances of 2020, both personal and global, have induced dramatic changes in our lives. It has been an interesting year where, given the lockdowns and dramatic changes in our social interactions, we have been forced to be with ourselves, become spiritually and emotionally self-reliant, and narrow down on what is important in our lives. It has also been a year that has forced us to become more intentional on how we choose to use our energy and how we choose to interact with others. Join us in giving thanks for all events in 2020, especially those that, in retrospect, have been the biggest catalysts for learning.

#006: The Labels We Apply To Ourselves (Understanding The Ego)
The ego rules our conscious mind. Among many things, it loves to latch onto labels that give meaning and validation to the individual. For example, we might identify as a wise, young, educated, a person of color, etc. However, the question is how beneficial are these labels for us? How much are we missing out on understanding other people's perspectives? Are we applying these labels to ourselves to feel superior over others and to validate ourselves?
In this episode, we discuss personal examples of how our egoic minds search for attachment to concepts that validates us. We might even feel like we are fighting a stereotype, and by doing so, we are just attaching with equal strength to a different label. Join us in this conversation about why putting people in boxes is a symptom of separation and an attempt to judge different perspectives, which are also valid (even if we can't understand them).

#005: Meditation, My Dear Friend
Everybody nowadays talks about meditation and the benefits of clearing your mind. But are we doing this correctly? Are there wrong ways of meditating? No, there are so many different ways to dive into meditation and so many different purposes for it. In this episode we dive into how our meditation practices have evolved over time, and what has worked for us in developing this habit. We also dive into how developing this practice might be hard at the beginning and how, after turning it into a habit, it's something we can't really let go of.
Every single technique that we describe has worked for us personally, but might not work for everybody. We encourage people to try different things and see what works for yourself. Our aim is to demystify the fact that there are right or wrong ways of meditating and show from our own experience that everybody can tailor this practice into something that works for them in the long term.

#004: Chicken Soup For The Soul
Following our conversations in our previous episode, we continue talking about different ways to make ourselves feel better (or, at a minimum, cope) in moments of anxiety and stress. We talk about the acceptance of low states, which are a great opportunity to dive into what triggers us and be compassionate with ourselves in the same way we would if we were in the listener's position. We also dive into the importance of reaching out, what makes support and advice from others feel good, and what are some possible traps we can fall into, both in sharing our problems and as listeners.

#003: What's Your Emotional Emergency Toolkit?
There are days in which we feel wonderful! We are manifesting beautiful things, everything is working great, and we are in bliss. And one day ... puff... we wake up, and all of that energy is gone! Our anxiety, worries, or other problems creep back in. What happened?
In this episode, we discuss from our personal experience that moods follow a wave pattern. Therefore, it is wise to plan for days when we aren't going to feel so great. How do we deal with these states? How can we construct an emotional emergency toolkit? Techniques like journaling, healthy habits, and recognition of activities that make you feel good can significantly improve the way we deal with lower states of energy.

#002: The Danger Of Narrow Focus And Unhealthy Self-development
When we are anxious is very easy to see life through a very narrow focus where our problems seem enormous, and even worst, we feel like we are not good enough because we have these struggles. Therefore we incessantly go through the path of self-development trying to “heal” and become something or somebody ideal, never feeling like we are there!
We explore the fact that the key is perspective and understanding that we are already deserving and good enough. As kids, we learn that we need to become good, rather than we are good and deserving already. We explore how changes in perspective can help us accept ourselves in whatever stage we are and bring more authentic selves into everything we do in life!

#001: Let's Start With Why!
Spirituality is an awesome journey but can also be much more challenging than people are willing to accept. Most people out there are trying to teach us new things, but fewer people are talking about the struggles that come with the journey. The tendency is to hide the struggles from others and show the best of our lives. However, the most beautiful and enlightening conversations happen in private among friends, where we shared the naked truth about ourselves, and we learn from each other. We wanted to share these honest private conversations in a more public forum, hoping others find themselves not alone in this journey.
This episode focuses on why we came up with the idea of a podcast, how the spark of spirituality and self-development began in our lives, and a series of unintended bloopers given that we have no clue what we are doing, but we are trying. Welcome!
