Orthopedic Surgery with Dr Dale Jarka & Dr Donna Pacicca
In this episode of Hot Off the STEAM!, Park Hill South High School student Nakiya Woodley interviews orthopedic surgeons Dr. Dale Jarka and Dr. Donna Pacicca. Both work with Children's Mercy Hospital and are involved with the Perry Outreach Program, which is dedicated to building the pipeline for women in engineering and medicine.
This interview explores topics including classes to consider if you are interested in orthopedic surgery, anticipated workload of an orthopedic surgeon, different projects and advancements in the field and much more!

Interior Design with Lillie Davis
In this episode of Hot Off the STEAM, Park Hill South High School student Nakiya Woodley interviews professional Stylist and Interior Designer Lillie Davis. Lillie Davis graduated from Missouri State University with a BA in Interior Design and has experience with companies such as Nebraska Furniture Mart, James Home Decor and White House Black Market.
This interview explores topics including how to get into interior design as a high school student, tips on how to style a person or a home, how to be more sustainable and avoid fast furniture, color matching, and much more! Lillie Davis walks through some of her experiences as a stylist and designer including her personal inspirations and some of the tools she uses in the field.
This episode focuses on interior design as a STEAM career path that does not require a four-year degree and has an average annual salary of over $40,000.
