They are often prescribed birth control pills to "regulate their hormones" but these are not the best solution and can cause more harm than good.  Today's podcast guest and I take a deep dive into PCOS, what is it, what are the symptoms, and what lifestyle changes can you do to get it under control. If you have been diagnosed with PCOS or know someone who has this episode is valuable and you will want to tune in.  _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. 54: How your Menstrual Cycle Impacts your Body, Mood, and Sex Drive
Ladies, this episode is for you. I remember being in  grade school and learning about puberty and there was very little information or us girls to learn how our body works and the phases of our cycle. I remember being told that yes we bleed, and we can get pregnant. That was practically all they told me in grade school and my Dr did not have much more to say besides "birth control pills can regulate out your period." Because of the lack of education around this topic I wanted to shed some light on it and give you a run down on the many phases of your cycle and not just your menstrual phase. If you find this episode valuable  please share it with your girl friends and especially any young lady out there who has questions about her body and whats going on with it during the course of the month. Education is power ladies.  ___________________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. 53: They key to Success is your Mindset
I been at the business of body and life transformations for a while now and have come to realize that the key to one succeeding at transforming their lives or achieving their goals boils down to one thing and thats their mindset. How you think about yourself, your situations, your surroundings is a direct reflection on what you do as an individual, If you think you are unworthy of riches you will always be poor, thats the poverty mindset that you probably have heard before. If you know that you are destined for greatness that thats is exactly what will happen. Do you think Laron James thought he was a a horrible basketball player, no he knew he would be the best and he became the best. Do you think Jef Bezos thought his online book store  will not take off? No he knew it would be a success and even left a high paying job to pursue it, and now look at him, he is rich and has created my favorite shop, Amazon.  So if you think that things happen to you and not because of you than tune in. Or if you know that you need to make a change in your life but do not know how then listen up. But if you think that your life will not change because of the circumstances and outside forces than this episode is not for you.  Marisa Peer "I am Enough" Episode  ___________________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. 52: Trust your Intuition- Seeking Answers Within
This has been an ongoing theme it seemed like this week for me where many of my clients and my friends have been asking me for advice on things when really they already know the answer. We often seek answers outside of ourselves when really the only person who's opinion matters is ourselves. I talk in more details about what is your intuition, your higher self, spirit guides, and why its important to seek answers from within. At the end of the episode I lead you though an easy and short guided meditation.  ___________________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. 50: Charging your Energy Centers - a Chakra Meditaiton
Wow....50 episodes I can't believe it. I am. Beyond excited. In honor of the 50th episode I want to provide you with a simple guides meditation of the chakras. The chakras are your 7 main energy centers that aligns with your spine. They start from the bottom of your spine to the crown of your head. The chakra system originated in India between 1500 and 500 BC in the oldest text called the Vedas. Chakra meditation was the very first meditation I tired and I feel in love as I opened up by blocked chakras. If you had an energy healing session like reiki than you might be familiar with the chakras. Take a moment, sit back and relax and enjoy this guided meditation. _____________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. 49: Why mental Health is Important- Mental Health Awareness Month
In honor of Mental Health Awareness month I felt the discussion about mental health needed to take place. I believe that mental health issues are among some of the most widespread illnesses of our time. With 1 in 5 adults suffering from some form of mental health issue (that’s almost 40 million Americans), not only are they widespread, but they are also generally quite a lot more challenging to identify and control than many might think. The World Health Organization (WHO) refers to mental health as ‘a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his own community.’ It has also been found that mental health issues in America increased most noticeably between the 1930s and 1990s, with some fascinating studies outlining that young people, in particular, have indicated a significant decrease in levels of happiness since this era. Today's podcast episode was an excerpt from a webinar I hosted on May 1st 2019.  _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Referenced Resources: https://bit.ly/2HFyxSZ  https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/tests/health/mental-health- assessment Signs that stress is impacting your relationship: https://psychcentral.com/blog/7- signs-that-stress-is-affecting-your-relationship/ PHQ9 Questionnaire - https://patient.info/doctor/patient-health-questionnaire-phq-9 To read more about some great foods to boost mental health, visit: https://mentalhealthfood.net/top-10-mental-health-foods/ _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. 48: How to stay Motivated to lose weight
It's the end of April which, in the health and wellness field means clients tend to fall off the wagon at this time. Let me explain why. They start off the year motivated with their New Year goals to lose weight in time for their first vacation then afterwards they feel like they can coast home. Needless to say, most people can't just coast home, they end up gaining weight again and feel frustrated when summer comes and they are not where they expected to be.  The worst thing is they are no longer motivated to stay on track. Motivation does not just impact those looking to lose weigh, it impact everyone including myself. I have battled and currently battling with motivation, yes it is true. So here are my tips to help you regain your motivation and stay fit and healthy year long.  ___________________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. 46: Misconceptions of healthcare: What people don't know and have to find out the hard way- Monica Leibson
Today we had a guest come over to Love your Life podcast, Monica Leibson. Monica is board certified Acupuncturist. She is also trained as a Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula where she educates women about  breastfeeding, hormone regulation and infant health. In today's episode we discuss the miconsceptions of the health care system as we know it, the benefits of alternative health, and why its so important to focus on woman's health especially in America. Monica is very well versed in Chinese Medicine which has many similarities to what I am currently studying, ayriuveda and we tap into it a bit in this episode. We also discuss the pharmaceutical drug system in America and how Americans are not getting better but sicker with each generation and how we can combat it.  It was a pleasuring having Monica on the show, She also recommended listening to our intuition, the little voices that tell us what we need. This is the BLOG that she mentioned.  _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. 46: The Worth of a Cup of Coffee- Interview with Andreas Galuera Lopez
While on my retreat to Haultulco Mexico I visited a local Coffee Plantation "Yuviaga" and meet the kind young man Andreas Galuera Lopez who was our tour guide. He showed us his family owned farmed that he has personally been working on for the past 4 years and with great success. His passion for his family business outweighed the desire to live a lush lifestyle. What mattered to him the most was living off the land, sustainability, and as he said in the podcast, FREEDOM. I have not come across a young man of his age who has been so wise to realize what matters the most in life. It was a pleasure spending half a day with him and our retreat guest on his family's farm, learning about the coffee beans, the two varieties, how they harvest them, roast them and sell them. I must say, everyone on the tour was quite surprised on the amount of work it takes to actually harvest the coffee beans and when there is a shortage of supplies it is even more work. So the next time you take a sip of your cup of coffee, remember those who worked hard for them, the "pickers" as they used to call them. They spend countless hours ensuring that your coffee is the best so treat them with respect.   I wish Adreas tons of success in his endeavor and to never give up on his dream to live off the land and teach others to do the same.  _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. As a health and fitness coach I know the frustration when it comes to trying to lose weight. 44. My Hormonal Health Battle
The signs where there but I ignored them over and over again until one day I couldn't. Looking at me you would not be able to tell that I was battling with Hormonal issues. I was fit, thin, and happy but internally I was out of wack. The constant throws of dieting and exercising to lose weight for fitness competitions caught up with me and damaged my hormones. I ignored the breakouts, the lack of energy, the low sex drive until one day the breast tenderness hit me hard and I could not ignore it. It was my wake up call to change my habits and to take a deeper drive into hormonal health. Thats when I made the switch in my coaching practice to not just focus on weight loss but to also focus on hormonal health and how to balance my hormones naturally. I dove deep into the topic, did my research, even went back to study it in death before creating my hormonal health program. I tested it on myself, my clients, and friends and saw that it was a program that worked without the need of perception medications and procedures. I was letting my body do what it was meant to do, HEAL. 40: Finding your Dharma
Dharma is a Sanskrit word that means righteous living. The ancient Hindu texts of The Vedas describe Dharma as an inner wisdom, or guidance that governs the individual person and the universe. For a person to follow her Dharma, all they needs to do is to follow that inner guidance. Dharma means finding your true path, your soul's purpose on this earth and living it to reach your fullest potential.  This week in my Ayurveda class we covered Dharma which had me thinking, am I living out my Dharma? This is what sparked this weeks podcast episode.  So, are you living out your Dharma, are you living to your highest good? 37: Self Love Practices to Improve your Wellbeing
In honor of Valentines Day I want to first off tell you how much I love and appreciate you for subscribing to my podcast and sharing the love of this show with others. Today I wanted to focus on loving yourself first and foremost. We often seek love from others, and when that love fades we feel alone and unworthy of love.  Why do we feel empty inside? Before we can even think of loving another living creature we must first love ourselves. My father taught me this lesson as a child and although I resisted, I later realized the lesson that needed to be learned and I am forever grateful.  The value you give yourself is key to life. If you value yourself, truly love yourself, than others will see it and treat you with respect. If you value yourself and your services than others will pay you what you are worth. If you love yourself than others will in turn love you because there is nothing more sexy than a confident individual.  Tune into today's episode to get some tips on how to practice self love. Remember even if you are single you can still make this day super special. Shout out to my precious dog Coco who turns 12 today.  My blog post: http://www.fitnesswellnesslife.com/blog/the-self-love-practices-that-you-may-be-missing-in-your-life Treat yourself to a beautiful vacation in Huatulco Mexico this April. 35: How saying NO can open up doors
Now I am not one for focusing on negative things, especially after going though my personal spiritual journey and on my path of enlightenment. For years I was a people pleaser and sometimes I still am.  The one thing I struggled with the most was saying NO to the things that did not serve me.  What do I mean exactly? I would say yes to opportunities that I really was not that excited about out of a feeling of obligation to the person offering or our of fear of what happens if I say no to this.  Then I started to think about it. Really, what is the worse thing that can happen to me if I said no? Yes maybe I miss out on opportunities that can advance my career, and maybe I miss out on some fun outings but on the flip side I have more time to do the things I truly want to do and thats worth the risk.  Today we take a deeper dive into the powerful word "No" and what doors it can open.  ______________________________________________ Thank you for tuning into the Love your Life Podcast.  All info and links for this podcast can be found in the show notes. 32: Goal Setting and Manifesting for a Productive Year
This is the time of the year where we reflect back on what took place over the past few months and look forward to the New Year and all it has to offer. Every year I like to do a reflection exercise on what happened in the present year so I can improve in the upcoming year. Its the whole what gets measured get improved mechanism. I recently came across the year compass book, check it out by going to https://yearcompass.com/ This was a lifesaver and now going to be an annual practice. It is laid out to review your current year and all aspects of it, what worked and what didn't then from that plan out your next year and how you will make it better, what is important to you and what you hope to learn. After that, I like to plan out my year as best as possible. Upcoming events, workshops, classes, vacations, retreats... I know some of these might change but if I have them in my calendar then I can plan accordingly. Next up is reviewing my financial goals and getting to know my finances well. For this, I use Mint and Quickbooks Intuit for my business. I have lofty financial goals this year and I need to know where my finances are so I can stay on track of my goals. Finally, I list out all my goals: financial, health, relationships, mindset, spirituality, business. I turn these into my vision board. I use Canva to help me create a board that is custom to me. I am hosting some upcoming vision board workshops. To find out more about them go over to out meet up: https://www.meetup.com/Fitness-Wellness-Life-Metro-Detroit/events/ I hope these tips help you have the most productive year yet. 31: Impacts of Stress & Adrenal Fatigue Signs/ Symptoms
Last week we discussed how to combat stress during the holidays. I am a strong advocate for self-care and this week... let's just say I needed to practice what I preached. My regularly scheduled podcast recording was delayed because I was overworked. With only a week and a half left before my trip to Hawaii, I overscheduled appointments and new clients. Business is growing which is great because I know it will lead to success in 2019, but what I neglected to do is care for myself. I made it a point to have one of my intentions for 2019 to find a work/ life HARMONY and NURTURE myself while helping others through their wellness journey, This week we dive deeper on the impacts of stress and the symptoms and remedies for adrenal fatigue. if you are under constant pressure and always feel tired then this is the episode for you. 28: Living the Full Life with Rachel Katz
Today episode I interviewed Nutritionist Rachel Katz. My passion for health and overall well-being stems from her history of mental health issues such as an eating disorder, depression, anxiety, OCD, and an unhealthy relationship with food and myself. She believes that healthy food, physical activity, and meditation can be used to treat or minimize symptoms of any illness, both physical and mental. Rachel's philosophy when it comes to eating healthy means not giving up any of your favorite foods, but rather learning how to make healthier versions of them, which is my true passion. Rachel teaches you how delicious, fun, and rewarding a healthy lifestyle can be. Food should be used as medicine, but it should also be enjoyable. If you live in the LA Area check her out and join her for one of her events. 21: Reframing Selfishness: Importance of Self Care
I grew up being told I was selfish because I am an only child but in reality I wasn't really. I was honoring my needs and caring for myself. As a child I was not aware of the need of self care but as I get older and pressured my passions, and set after my goals and dreams I realized that I was actually honoring myself and that made others very uncomfortable. So lets refrain selfishness, its not a bad thing at all and in all honesty we need to take time out for ourselves. If we do not take the time each day, week, month to honor our own needs then creativity sniffles, we get worn out, and we can not truly serve others to the best of our abilities. Tune in as I explain the importance of self care and why we all need to take some time to honor our own needs. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. 20: Manifest your Dreams into Reality
The past two years has been a spiritual journey for me. I caught out an energy healing session with my Energy Healer, Megan (check out the interview I had with her on Episode 5) and came out of the session renewed with my faith in all things spiritual. She opened up my eyes to how well I am at manifesting my goals into reality. Going into the session I remember wanting some new crystals for my birthday. After the session she handed me 3 crystals to take home, the exact ones I wanted which was a bit freaky. I then looked at my messages and the two people I was thinking about calling to tell them about my experience had tested me. Coincidence? I don't think so because later that week I wanted to earn $1000 and in 3 days I reached $985 and won two prizes over $50 each. That had me convinced. I am good at manifesting, big or small. Tune into this episode to learn how you can manifest the things you want in life into reality. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. 19: Shaman and Intuitive Chef-Heather Puzan
Heather is a soul sister of mine, and we only meet a few times before this show. She is a Shaman, Latina, Fitness Competitor, and a Chef. She infuses her shamanic work into her meal prep business called Healthy Plate. She became a personal trainer and nutriton counselor because she loves helping people. As she began to expand her spiritual practice and had a closer connection with spirit she learned tarot which quickly led to Reiki attunements further leading to Pranic healing courses. Her meal prep business, Healthy Plate, started when she was posting her meals on facebook. Her friends commented that they would buy them from her if she started to sell them. A year later she started Healthy Plate and prepared and cooked all of the meals just as she would for her family. Her motto is "If I don't like it - it doesn't go on the menu." The added benefit of meals prepared by a shaman is that the food is blessed and infused with Divine Energy giving it an added healing benefit to the "consumers". It is important for us to take care of the body, mind, and soul equally. It is important for Heather to bring love, healing and balance to as many as she can. Heather and I could talk for hours so we decided to keep this interview shorter. If you love this topic and want to learn more reach out to me at info@firtnesswellnesslife.com with all of your questions and I will bring Heather back on the show. 16: Why do we feel the need to label people?
We have grown accustom to label things and people as a way for others to get a good picture of what we are talking about. We all know what a table and a chair looks like or a sofa and a tv. These are just words really but when we use them to describe people or who we are we tend to get caught up in the label and not the true essence of the individual. This episode I discuss society labels and a challenge you to describe what you do without using any labels. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. 15: Astrology Crash Course with Tarot Jane
I am honored to have this amazing mystical woman on my show today. Jane Pierce is a psychic reader, ordained Tzaddi minister and Reiki Master who has been teaching tarot, astrology, and energy work since the 1990’s. She uses her decades of experience with tarot and astrology to show the deeper patterns that shape lives and empower people to create a more intentional future. Jane started studying tarot in 1989. After a near-death experience during a miscarriage, her psychic gifts become greatly enhanced. In order to understand and survive the increased empathy that followed and the past life memories that began to emerge, Jane began studying alternative healing techniques with professional tarot readers who were teachers in the Church of Tzaddi. While working towards her Healer/Counselor certificate, Jane explored NLP, polarity therapy, Reiki, and channeling guides, completing her Reiki Mastery Program along with her Ministerial ordination in 1995. While raising a family, Jane has continued teaching tarot, astrology, Reiki and energy work throughout the Midwest. She has been providing astrology and tarot readings through local stores, such as The Sacred Sage and Boston Tea Room, as well as reading for private clients in homes and at the SheHive in Michigan. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Soundcloud. 14: Be Bold, Be Beautiful, Be You!
When did we stop loving ourselves and start comparing ourselves to others? When did we become so consumed by what others are doing that we are not happy with our current lives. 12: I Am Affirmation & Meditation
Meditation is a tool I use daily to help calm my mind and center my thoughts. It's my way to tune inward and seek out answers to some of my life questions. I have been actively meditating for over a year now and the one thing I will say is that I love guided meditations. When my mind is chattering all the time I need the voice of someone else to center my thoughts so I can calm down the chatter and tune into what they are saying. This was one of the very first meditations I tried. Its a mixture of affirmations and meditation where I guide you through a phrase and you will finish it off with whatever rings true to you. Lets your imagination go wild, there is not right or wrong way to do this. I hope you find this technique valuable. If you like this meditation and would like more on the podcast please email me at info@fitnesswellnesslife.com and I will be sure to include more. _____________________________________________________________________________________ would mean the world to me if you left a rating and review. 06: How to Stay Fit all Summer Long
Summer has officially arrived which means: hot weather, BBQ's, traveling and swimsuits. This is also a time where we can easily get off track of our wellness routines. Let's face it, it's hot and we rather sit poolside with some good bbq and a drink than hit the gym. I don't blame you but rather than throwing in the towel during the warmer months, let's focus on ways you can maintain your wellness routine all summer long. Because summer bodies are made in the winter and maintained in the summer. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Sponsors: Plexus: mysite.plexusworldwide.com/FWL Scribed: https://www.scribd.com/g/6fxrhv Follow Stephanie on Social Media @FWL_Steph- Instagram and @Fitwellnesslife Fitness Wellness Life- Facebook www.fitnesswellnesslife.com/podcast Music by Ikson Spring

03: Creating a Morning Ritutal to Increase Productivity
Morning Rituals or Routines is a great way to start your day on a good note. You might have heard of some famous people who have a morning ritual and how it actually increases their productivcity. When I first discovered it, I thoght to myself "great concept, but realisticallhy I am not waking up at 5am." A year into implementing the morning ritual I can honestly say that I wake up every day around 5:30 am and sleeping in is now 6:30/7am. My day is more productive since doing this and my mood has drastically changed from being angry and upset all the time to being more joyful. I hope these tips help you create a morning ritual that benefits you. 01: Changing Careers & Pursuing a Passion
Discovering your passion does not always comes easy. For me it was a huge change in my career, leaving a corporate job of political campaigns and community liaison in the non profit field to becoming a fitness instructor and health coach. I changed careers after the 2016 presidential election when I saw a lot of hatred in the world and target attacks to the community that I served. I decided that the stress that came from my job was no longer serving me and that it was time to finally follow my passion and start my own business. That was the year I started my business, Fitness Wellness Life, as a personal trainer and a newly certified Nutrition Coach. I have never been happier. I am still in the service industry but helping people fall in love with their bodies and their life in a healthy manner. I hope this story of my personal journey from corporate to entrepreneur inspires you to follow your passion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Follow Stephanie on Social Media @FWL_Steph - Instagram Fitness Wellness Life- Facebook www.fitnesswellnesslife.com Sponsors: Scribd- http://bit.ly/FWLBook Rocky's Natural Body Products- http://bit.ly/RockyBody Music by Ikson Spring
