95: How To Maintain your Sanity During this Pandemic
With social distancing becoming the new normal and many states now ordering a shelter in place mandate, many families are getting stuck at home together with no place to escape.
With school being canceled and babysitters not being able to help families because of health and safety reasons, families are now trying to work from home, care for their children, manage their relationship, connect with loved ones via phone calls, and not lose their minds. I do not know about you but after a month of stay in place order, I almost lost it. Today's episode I share some of the ups and downs I've been experiencing with social distancing and how I coped with it. I hope my story sheds some light that we are all human, we all have those moments, and that we will get through this together.

I am in the process of creating my birthing team for Baby Smith and wanted to share with you some tips and information to help you decide who you would like on your team. My birthing team consists of my OB/GYN which might switch to a midwife depending on where I decide to birth, my doula who I absolutely love, and my partner. Additional support includes my massage therapist, acupuncturist, and my chiropractor for the much-needed self-care and to assist in induction if needed. Check out today's episode to learn more about how to build your birthing team. I want to hear from you...who is on your birthing team?

93: Prepping your body for Pregnancy
Preparing for pregnancy can be a very exciting time! However, it can also cause much undue stress.
When trying to conceive, remember that everyone’s biological clock is vastly different. Just because you know someone that may have conceived in a matter of months doesn't mean that is the case for everyone. Similarly, if you’ve heard of others experiencing complications that, also, does not mean that would be relevant to your experience either.
There are a number of tips for preparing your body (and mind) for pregnancy. The healthier you are at the start, the better your chances of having a healthy and happy experience overall.

92: Castor Oil Packs for Hormone and Fertility Health
Castrol oil packs have been used for centuries to regulate hormonal health and are now more popular in mainstream America. I am happy they are making a comeback because they work like a charm if you are experiencing any hormonal related issues and want a natural way to increase fertility. Castrol oil packs stimulate your liver to start detoxification and the liver helps promote the regulation of hormones by eliminating excess and allowing the body to rid itself of any toxins that can cause harm to the body. Try this technique 3 times a day for 3 weeks leading to your period and let. me know your results by sending me an email at stephanie@stephanielopezgilmore.com

90: Syncing your Cycle to the Moon
Ladies, did you know that our menstrual cycle is more in tune with the moon than the sun? Just like the moon, we go through 4 phrases every month. menstruation, the follicular phase, ovulation and the luteal phase. You might have known this but are a bit curious about how we can sync it to the phases of the moon. I was conscious once myself and was excited to learn how my cycle lined up with the moon. Though out my work as a Hormonologist I have been able to sync my cycle to the new moon twice which was an exciting time for me, a big-time of celebration in my life. Today I am diving into what are the phases of the moon and what it means when you bleed on the full moon, waning moon, crescent moon, and new moon along with how to use these phases of the moon to manifest positivity in your life.

89: Herbs for Fertility- boosting your fertility naturally.
The use of fertility herbs along with other natural remedies to help you get pregnant has been around for centuries. They were prevalent long before IVF and modern fertility treatments were available. Oftentimes they are overlooked in favor of “quick fixes” from western medicine but they can play a huge role in balancing your homes and even helping to reverse infertility. My personal favorite herb is Shatavari. I used it to reduce PMS symptoms and cramps and in turn, I reversed my infertility with it, It was one of the major herbs that helped me conceive.
When you are thinking about your nutrition or what supplements to take to boost your fertility, herbs should definitely play a role in your overall plan for conception.
If you havIf you have any questions or would like to book a consultation with me to further discuss your infertility and how to reverse it naturally.. book a call HERE.

86: My life will forever change (Special Announcement)
You know that moment when you wake up and realize that your life will forever change? That moment happened to me back in October 2019 when I discovered I am pregnant. I knew at that moment that things would change, I also knew that the hike up Kilimanjaro that my husband and I been tracking for the past 9 months would not happen due to my pregnancy. I am not going to lie, it took me a few days to wrap my mind around this news, mostly because I didn't think I could conceive. See my mother had struggled with infertility and took her 10 years to have me. I was on birth control pills for 14 years and was told by my OBGYN years ago that I had a "hostile environment to raise kids." So when I meet my husband, Matt, I told him off the bat that kids are out of the question. Working on improving my hormonal symptoms through nutrition, herbs, and meditation actually helped me to become more fertile. Now I am taking the steps I used to increase my fertility and creating a program geared towards women wanting to become a mother and want a natural way to go about it.
Tune into this episode to learn more.

84: Is Stress impacting your chances of conceiving?
In this fast-paced modern world, feeling stressed is, unfortunately, an everyday occurrence. But can this ‘everyday stress’ affect your fertility?
The type of stress I are referring to is the chronic, low-grade, relentless stress that is the result of our overly complicated, high-pressure lifestyles. This type of stress is something the adrenal glands were not built to handle very well.
Of the two stress hormones, Cortisol has the biggest impact on fertility.
This week I am covering the impacts of stress on your fertility and how you can combat it to have a healthy pregnancy.

83:The power of Mindfulness
‘The practice of mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now”.
Mindfulness, in theory, is extremely straightforward. Simply put, it’s the practice of being fully present, fully aware, and fully able to engage with one’s current situation or environment.
Why then, does it seem so elusive?
So many of us are accustomed to over-stimulation from the outside world - things directing our attention away from what is happening now. The more time we spend in our heads thinking about things that aren’t happening right in front of us - things that have already happened or have yet to happen - the less time we spend being mindful.
Harvard students investigated the effects of the ‘alpha rhythm’, or rhythmic brain movements which are associated with DISTRACTION. This brain rhythm is thought to decrease activity in the mind which is associated with being distracted and overstimulated. Participants were given an 8-week mindful meditation program that saw their attention-direction improve significantly, leading the researchers to conclude the positive benefits of the mindfulness were responsible.

80: Adrenal Fatigue & Its Symptoms
Chances are you have heard of adrenal fatigue, but you may not be quite sure what it is. Understanding this condition is important however because some experts suggest that 80% of the Western world will be affected by adrenal fatigue at some point in their lives.
The adrenal glands are located above the kidneys and are responsible for secreting more than 50 different hormones that are essential for life. Among these are adrenaline, cortisol, progesterone, and testosterone. Because they regulate so many important hormones, their proper function is critical for many functions essential to life such as producing energy, balancing electrolytes and storing fat.
These glands also help you deal with stress. When you are under stress, the adrenal glands engage many different responses in your body to make it easier for you to handle that stress.
But during periods of intense, prolonged stress or chronic illness, the adrenal glands begin functioning below the level needed to maintain health and well-being in the body. They still function but at less than optimal levels. The result is adrenal fatigue.

79: The link between Endometriosis Pain, Infertility, and Fatigue
Endometriosis is a common condition, affecting 1 in 10 women worldwide. When a girl or woman has endometriosis, the tissue that normally lines the uterus (endometrial tissue), also grows outside of the uterus. Symptoms can begin as early as the first period. Endometriosis can be “silent” (not painful, but affecting fertility.) However, in most cases, endometriosis causes severe pelvic and sexual pain. Learn how to combat the pain, fatigue and hormonal balance with a natural approach in this week's episode.

70: How to Combat Emotional Eating
This week I had the pleasure of interviewing a fellow HCI graduate, Debbie Thompson, owner of Breakthrough Wellness Coaching. Debbie is a health & life coach specializing in helping professional women over 40 loose weight permanently, heal emotional & binge eating, and stop being held back by fear. Debbie has been helping people live their own Cinderella story for over 30 years as a social worker, community mentor, leadership development professional, and now coach. Her clients have called her to approach backslide-proof and game-changing.
After struggling with eating disorders in her teens and early 20's she found permanent recovery. Then she found herself in a different kind of food struggle when she turned 40 and her body changed. Not only did she gain weight steadily even though she wasn't doing anything different, but she developed gout, digestive issues, trouble sleeping, cravings, and pain walking up and down the steps. Cutting calories and exercising didn't make any difference. At 46 she found the right information for weight loss over 40. Little did she know it would clear up all of her physical symptoms too. Throughout her life, Debbie also struggled with fear and then found freedom from that during this time too. When she learned about coaching, she felt like it had her name written all over it. She thinks of herself as a habit whisperer, food hacker, and mindset shifter. It's Debbie's mission to help women remove and transcend food and fear issues so they can take all that energy and go live to the full.
This week we take a deeper dive into emotional eating as she shares her tips to break the emotional eating cycle. If you are an emotional eater or know someone who is you will want to tune into this podcast.

68: The Importance of Sleep and Insomniac Remedies
How much sleep do you get a night? Is it enough?
Even if you’re getting seven hours, you may need more, because if you’re not feeling rested upon waking, you could be sleep deprived. As a society, we don’t get enough sleep.
Whether we’re staying up all night to study, working late, or just having fun, we’re getting to bed later, and it’s affecting our health.
Short-term and acute consequences of sleep deficiency impact judgment, mood, ability to learn and retain information, and may increase the risk of serious accidents and injury.
Meanwhile, long-term chronic sleep deprivation, defined as routine sleep insufficiency, may lead to a host of health problems including obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and even early mortality. Whether dealing with acute or chronic sleep deprivation, it’s important to address the cause right away.
The bottom line is that sleep is crucial to our health because the body simply cannot perform or function optimally without the restoration that sleep provides. If you’re looking for ways to improve your sleep habits and want to learn more about the importance of sleep for optimal health, you’ll definitely want to take advantage of this resource!

66: Toxic Free Living- Ditch the toxic cleaners
I have gone completely toxic free in 2018. Prior to that I was only toxic free with my body products, I started making my own deodorant, buying homemade body soaps and toxic free shampoo along with natural toothpaste you get the picture. I was even making my own laundry soap until my friend started her laundry soap business and i started to purchase it from her. The last thing to go toxic free was my household cleaners and the only reason it took so long was because my 70 yr old mother lives with my husband and I. She is old school, bleach and tide kinda women so it took a long time to switch her over to toxic free cleaning products.
This topic is near and dear to me. Now that I am toxic free I can tell the difference between using the old toxic products and using the better, healthier, toxic free alternatives. I hope this episode inspires you to make the switch.

59: Keys to Lasting Relationship
I meet my husband 9 years ago. If you asked me then if I could see myself married to him I would have told you no. Not that he is not an amazing man, but because I never saw myself as a married woman. Prior to my husband I had my fair share of relationships, some good, some not so great but none that lasted over a year. For some reason I had a lot of my friend ask me for relationship advice, which looking back is silly because I was no expert when it came to it, What I did learn was that self love is pivotal when it comes to a lifelong relationship.
Today's episode I share my tips for a lasting relationship. These are things I found that have worked for me, again I am not a relationship expert but I have been in a loving relationship since 2010.

54: How your Menstrual Cycle Impacts your Body, Mood, and Sex Drive
Ladies, this episode is for you. I remember being in grade school and learning about puberty and there was very little information or us girls to learn how our body works and the phases of our cycle. I remember being told that yes we bleed, and we can get pregnant. That was practically all they told me in grade school and my Dr did not have much more to say besides "birth control pills can regulate out your period."
Because of the lack of education around this topic I wanted to shed some light on it and give you a run down on the many phases of your cycle and not just your menstrual phase. If you find this episode valuable please share it with your girl friends and especially any young lady out there who has questions about her body and whats going on with it during the course of the month. Education is power ladies.

53: They key to Success is your Mindset
I been at the business of body and life transformations for a while now and have come to realize that the key to one succeeding at transforming their lives or achieving their goals boils down to one thing and thats their mindset. How you think about yourself, your situations, your surroundings is a direct reflection on what you do as an individual, If you think you are unworthy of riches you will always be poor, thats the poverty mindset that you probably have heard before. If you know that you are destined for greatness that thats is exactly what will happen. Do you think Laron James thought he was a a horrible basketball player, no he knew he would be the best and he became the best. Do you think Jef Bezos thought his online book store will not take off? No he knew it would be a success and even left a high paying job to pursue it, and now look at him, he is rich and has created my favorite shop, Amazon.
So if you think that things happen to you and not because of you than tune in. Or if you know that you need to make a change in your life but do not know how then listen up. But if you think that your life will not change because of the circumstances and outside forces than this episode is not for you.

This has been an ongoing theme it seemed like this week for me where many of my clients and my friends have been asking me for advice on things when really they already know the answer. We often seek answers outside of ourselves when really the only person who's opinion matters is ourselves. I talk in more details about what is your intuition, your higher self, spirit guides, and why its important to seek answers from within. 49: Why mental Health is Important- Mental Health Awareness Month
I believe that mental health issues are among some of the most widespread illnesses of our time. With 1 in 5 adults suffering from some form of mental health issue (that’s almost 40 million Americans), not only are they widespread, but they are also generally quite a lot more challenging to identify and control than many might think.
The World Health Organization (WHO) refers to mental health as ‘a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his own community.’
It has also been found that mental health issues in America increased most noticeably between the 1930s and 1990s, with some fascinating studies outlining that young people, in particular, have indicated a significant decrease in levels of happiness since this era.
Today's podcast episode was an excerpt from a webinar I hosted on May 1st 2019.

46: Misconceptions of healthcare: What people don't know and have to find out the hard way- Monica Leibson
Today we had a guest come over to Love your Life podcast, Monica Leibson. Monica is board certified Acupuncturist. She is also trained as a Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula where she educates women about breastfeeding, hormone regulation and infant health. In today's episode we discuss the miconsceptions of the health care system as we know it, the benefits of alternative health, and why its so important to focus on woman's health especially in America. Monica is very well versed in Chinese Medicine which has many similarities to what I am currently studying, ayriuveda and we tap into it a bit in this episode. We also discuss the pharmaceutical drug system in America and how Americans are not getting better but sicker with each generation and how we can combat it.
It was a pleasuring having Monica on the show, She also recommended listening to our intuition, the little voices that tell us what we need. This is the BLOG that she mentioned.
