Survivor Stories: Richard Brooking
When I say survivors, I am talking about survivors of child abuse, institutional child abuse, survivors of addiction, survivors of the prison system and survivors of domestic violence.
-
I am survivor of abuse, with a lived experience of the prison system, intergenerational trauma and I also know firsthand what it's like to lose a parent to the system.
-
I have also learned to thrive and am grateful everyday to be in a position to support others who have lived, or are living, through the same things.
-
I love my life today. I stay out of trouble and understand why I ended up in that lifestyle.
I've reunited with my father who I lost when I was 10 to the system and I've overcome addiction. I train everyday, I take care of my health and I'm working daily to see change in the world.
-
I started this podcast after being humbled and inspired by many other survivor stories and hearing how people have found healing, justice and peace after what they lived through.
-
This is a safe and supportive space for survivors and those that support them.
-
Listen, speak up, tune in. - -

Stay tuned for our next ep!
