Professional Achievement
Dear SMPS New York and all Affiliate Chapters,
I write to you completely beside myself with euphoria and delight another year has passed and our Annual Liberty Ball soon approaches! It is time to celebrate each other and our achievements yet again. I can’t wait to see the turnout, the beautiful marketing and graphic materials, stunning strategies, and (my favorite) the Professional Achievement Award winners! It is still very hush hush who the awards will go to, and you know I love to speculate, but I simply cannot say anymore on this! We do not know whose eyes and ears this may fall upon. Enclosed is a behind-the-scenes conversation with last year’s award winners. Do you believe it?! I had no idea all that is involved with them and what the awards mean in their lives, their careers, and they even give advice to new nominees and recipients! I laughed, I cried, I was inspired all over again, and I absolutely couldn’t contain myself––I had to share it with you! The risk is worth it, and I am eagerly awaiting your response.
Affectionately yours,
The Marketing Department Podcast

Working Models
It’s 2022, we’ve entered our third (and hopefully final) year of the pandemic, potentially with herd immunity in sight, but for many of us, our working lifestyles are still TBD and as up-in-the-air as the unpredictable age we’re in. Companies are changing how they operate, because we, as a people, have been forever changed, and there may be no “going back to normal,” but only paving the way for a new normal. In “Working Models,” Melissa Whitman, Brooke Weinstein, and Justin Davidson discuss in-person, hybrid, and remote working––the highs, the lows, and the unexpected––giving insight to how each of their companies have adapted and are operating successfully. Listen in to hear about the challenges and advantages of each style including lessons learned from navigating workload, client relationships, and company culture.

Women in the Workforce
In the age of “doing it all,” are we acknowledging the issues currently faced by women in the workplace? More importantly, what are employers doing, or could they be doing, to make it easier for women to find opportunities for mentorship, raise a family while advancing their career, and discourage workplace bias? In this episode of The Marketing Department, our panel explores the answers to these questions, shares stories of their own personal experiences, and give suggestions for real solutions to problems they and others may face.
