Late Look at the Draft
Life has got a bit in the way, so we're a bit late in looking back at the draft.
Before that though, some Wide Receivers got signed, including Odell Beckham Jr to the Dolphins.
We look at the draft, some look like slam dunks, others look more confusing, we go through the first round and who has looks like they've missed an opportunity, and who had a smart pick fall into their laps.
Mock Draft 2024
It's that time of the year, when we don our GM hats, and we don't predict the Draft, but say what we would do if we were the GMs for the night, so expect
Paul to reach
John to forget someone obvious
Gary to say how great he picked
Jim to pick loads of Tackles
Griff to get every pronunciation wrong
Who goes first? Who makes trades? Who will fail to live up to the expectation? It's our favourite show of the year, so lets open the draft and get picking!
Off Season Round Up -
We start with the news, which is depressing as we go from the death of OJ Simpson, Rashee Rice's troubles with the law, Terrell Suggs &T'Vone Sweat's DWI arrest.
After this though we go around the league and talk about what has changed, going through each team by division.
Who are the major signings, who have they lost, and what do they need in the Draft next week?
Off Season 2024 - Stefon Diggs, Retirements, Trade & Looking To The Draft
We're back! After an off-season for us that involved relaxation, hair cuts, plenty of work and a back surgery, we return to start discussing what has gone on in Off Season.
Before we started though news came through that Stefon Diggs is off to the Texans for a 2025 2nd round pick.
We remember Vontae Davis, and discuss future Hall of Famers Aaron Donald, Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox who have retired.
L'Jarious Snead is traded to the Titans, Brian Burns is off to the Giants. Kirk Cousins is on the move to Atlanta, as the biggest signing in the Off Season.
We also look forward to the Draft, and look at who we can be expecting to be drafted in the first round.
Kansas City Chiefs Repeat in the Super Bowl and End of Season Ratings
The Chiefs repeat in the Super Bowl, and in OT Mecole Hardman catches the winning TD to bring home the biggest prize in NFL. What was the difference between the two teams, and what were the key plays in this tightly fought match up?
What do the 49ers need to do for Shanahan to break his duck, and take home the Lombardi Trophy?
We take a look back at the team this year, and rather than our usual letter grade, we use the Peri-O-meter to judge how well every team did.
The 2024 Super Bowl Preview & Season Awards
It's the best weekend of the year, it's the biggest game in American Football, and this year it's the Kansas City Chiefs vs San Francisco 49ers.
What are the key match ups, and who are the key players on both sides?
Dan Quinn is the Head Coach of the Washington Commanders, which has been met with mostly shrugs, but what does he need to do to get Washington where they want to be?
It's also time for us to award our end of season awards, who is MVP, who is the Head Coach of the Year, and who has disappointed most?
Championship Round & The Snap UK All-Pro Team
The Raven melt down at the worst possible moment, whilst the Chiefs just know how to win when the going gets tough.
Elsewhere the Lions snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, and would a more conservative game plan, and a bit more luck, have got them to the Super Bowl?
Seahawks have their new Head Coach, and we go through most of the new hires, and what should they do in Washington?
We then pick our All-Pro team, some consensus picks, some debate, but all the best players in this season.
Divisional Round and the Coach Merry Go Round
We now know who is going to be in the Championship games, and a great weekend of football leaves some teams showing their class, some their ability to win without playing great, and others looking forward to building for next year
- The Ravens make changes to make it look easy
- The 49ers do enough to beat a spirited Packers team who can continue to build
- Chiefs have the beating of Josh Allen and the Bills...again
- Lions season continues whilst the Buccs may be looking at a rebuild now
We also discuss the teams that have made decisions on Head Coach appointments, and some that are still making them. The Co-ordinator merry go round also continues with plenty of changes through the league.
Super Wildcard Round and the Head Coach Carousel
The first round of the Playoffs is in the books, and for some teams, it means the end of the season but the start of the speculation. Owners of the Cowboys and Eagles looked annoyed with the performances on Sunday, and rightly so, so:
- Does this signal the end for McCarthy?
- Does this signal the end for Sirianni?
- Are the Buccs any good?
- Is Jordan Love better than last seasons Aaron Rodgers?
Elsewhere
- What is with the dolphins after December?
- Are the Bills a freight train right now?
- CJ Stroud is elite
- Goff and Stafford are great in the only tight contest
- Step to far for the Browns and Steelers
Belichick is let go by the Patriots, and interview the Falcons.
We also look ahead to the Super Divisional Round, and the return of 49ers and Ravens to action.
All this plus the usual Hottest Seat, MVP and Sweetest Play of the week.
Week 18 - Pete Carroll moves upstairs, Vrabel fired and Jaguars miss the Playoff
The Regular Season is now over, and for most teams the season ends here. For some people this means they will be looking for a new role
- Pete Carroll moved to an advisor role in Seattle
- Arthur Smith and Jameis Winston's role in his downfall
- Why is Mike Vrabel out of work?
- Anyone surprised by Ron leaving Washington?
- Time for Bill Belichick to move on?
In terms of the playoffs, there were still slots to fill
- Jaguars grab defeat from jaws of victory
- Steelers grab the final slot
- Bills take the home game
- Buccs take the NFC South
- Packers make it to the post season
- Eagles limping
All this plus the usual Plays and Players of the week
Week 17 - Who will make it to Super Wildcard Weekend
The season is almost finished, and whilst the Number 1 seeds are sewn up, for some of the teams it's down to the line.
- Bills or Dolphins for the 2 seed in the AFC?
- Bills can also miss the Playoffs
- Who will take the NFC South?
- What about the AFC South?
- Packers or Seahawks?
Elsewhere we look at whose record is better, or worse, than their performances have indicated?
Week 16 - Ravens in control, Browns in the Playoffs and Wilson benched
Week 16 of the 2023 season, and the most in form Quarter Backs in the league are Lamar Jackson and Joe Flacco.
- Amari Cooper has a career game
- What is going on with the Chiefs?
- Not only are the Browns in the Playoffs, but so are the Lions!
- Eagles catch the 49ers in the NFC
All this plus the usual Sweetest Play of the Week, Hottest Seat and MVP of the Week
Week 15 - Brandon Staley leaves Los Angeles and who is playing for the Playoffs
Week 15 and Staley has finally gone. It was a performance against the Raiders that gets a coach fired, and the Chargers were happy to oblige.
Elsewhere
- 49ers lead the way in NFC
- Eagles and Cowboys lose, but face battle for a home Playoff game
- Lions win and in
- Ravens are out in front in the AFC
- Chiefs and Dolphins lead the chasing pack for a bye week and having the Playoffs run through Hard Rock or Arrowhead instead
- Bills find form at just the right time
- Jags find the wrong time to lose form, whilst the Colts are chasing
Who is looking at meaning January football and who can start planning for next season.
All this, plus the usual Hottest Seat, Sweetest Play and MVP of the week
Week 14 - Entering the Business End of the Season, and how do you have a 3-0 game?
Week 14 is in the in the books, and much like the story of the season, we have the sublime and ridiculous!
- The 49ers are inevitable
- The Cowboys are no longer flat track bullies, they might be the second best team in the whole NFL
- Baltimore Ravens are not great, but they're still good, and they win the game of the weekend against the Los Angeles Rams
- We go back to 1934 and have a game where the Vikings win 3-0 somehow
- The Jets beat what is left of the Texans
We also look at which coaches won't be on the same team next season, and which QBs will be reporting to another facility?
Week 13 - 49ers beat the Eagles and the jostle for the Playoffs
Week 13 is in the books, and in the biggest game of the weekend, the 49ers are (eventually) imperious against the Eagles, who need help in the secondary. They have signed Shaq Leonard though, will that help?
Elsewhere
- The Pats and Chargers game might be the worst of the season
- Seahawks against the Cowboys might be one of the best
- Packers are in form at just the right time
- The Saints are out of form at just the wrong time
- Lions are great, but also pretty bad
All this plus the Sweetest Play of the Week, Hottest Seat and Ballsiest Play
Week 12 - Reich is gone, Eagles and Ravens lead the way, and Dolphins run it back
Week 12 is in the books.
Frank Reich is gone from Carolina, who are putting up a strong case to be the basket case team in the NFL. Paying two Head Coaches who don't coach you anymore, maybe it's not that big a thing when you're worth $20billion, but it's not sensible.
Thanksgiving weekend games were...not that competitive, but it's fun to watch games at a usual time in the UK isn't it.
The Eagles and Ravens lead their respective Conferences, but are not totally convincing.
The Texand and Jags have a great game, the Giants and Patriots don't
Week 11 - Joe Burrow out for the season, Matt Canada is gone and Eagles beat Chiefs,
Week 11 is in the books, and after last week, it was pretty entertaining.
Sadly though, Joe Burrow is out for the season with a wrist injury, whilst Mark Andrews is out the Ravens.
In Pittsburgh, Matt Canada is gone, whilst the Jets wait 8 weeks too late to drop Zach Wilson.
The Eagles win a game of fine margins against the Chiefs, whilst the Lions keep on winning, and the Niners look good again.
Shaq Leonard is released and the Chargers find a way to go full Chargersm beyond any sort of bad-Chargers energy than ever before.
All this, plus we look
Week 10 - Bills in crisis, apologies to Frankfurt and whose season is already over
With Week 10 in the books, the Bills seem to be edging into crisis mode, and mid season coaching changes are never a good sign.
The Niners are feisty again after the break, with the return of Trent Williams and Deebo, although the Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence have a bad weekend.
Why are prime time games so bad this year?
We look at whose season is already over, so we can stop talking about bad teams, and look ahead to Week 11.
Week 9 - Stroud's breakout game, Dobbs wins, and midseason MVP
We're over halfway through the season for most teams now, and things are starting to get into shape.
The Eagles continue to dominate in the NFC, overcoming a spirited Cowboys team who have another stand out game from Cee-Dee Lamb.
There are standout performances from CJ Stroud and Josh Dobbs from different perspectives. CJ Stroud puts in the most statistically impressive QB performance from a Rookie, whilst Josh Dobbs was brilliant despite learning who his O-Line were.
We also discuss who the MVP and other award winners are so far in the season, along with our weekly awards for Sweetest Play and Hottest Seat
Week 8 - Trade Deadline and the end for McDaniels in Las Vegas
Week 8 is in the books, and we start with the news it's all change in Las Vegas, as the Raiders fire Josh McDaniels and the GM is out too, but what should they do now?
The trade deadline has passed, and Washington shipped off their young defensive linesmen, Sweat and Young, to the Bears and 49ers respectively. The Seahawks get Leonard Williams from the Giants, and Vikings get Dobbs from Arizona.
In the weeks action, we discuss the toilet bowl at MetLife, the emergence of Will Levis at Tennessee, and Cowboys turn on the style against the Rams.
There is also our weekly awards for Hottest Seat, Sweetest Play of the Week and MVP of the week.
Week 7 - Eagles beat Dolphins, Niners lose again and Garrett is dominant
Week 7 is in the books, so we discuss the high and low points of a surprisingly fun week of football.
Eagles beat Dolphins in a game where the Eagles looked more like the dominant team of last year.
The Niners lose to Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings, who look they are resurgent after a slow start.
Myles Garrett is amazing as the Browns win a tight game against the Colts despite QB woes.
Wins for the one win teams in Giants, Patriots and Broncos.
We look ahead to the Trade Deadline and who could be on the move, as well as our usual weekly awards for Sweetest Play, Hottest Seat and MVP of the Week
Week 6 - Everyone is Defeated
San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles are no longer undefeated, losing in week 6 to Cleveland Browns and New York Jets respectively.
Elsewhere there are wins for the Chiefs, Lions and Dolphins are in the chase at 5-1.
The London games are over, and 2 out 3 were pretty uninspiring, with the Ravens overcoming the Titans at Tottenham.
The Trade Deadline is approaching and who could we see moving, and who could do with a move?
All this, plus the usual awards for Sweetest Play of the Week, Hottest Seat, and MVP of the Week
Week 5 - 49ers look imperious, what to do with Bill, and Bears finally win
Week 5 and the only team that is really hitting the heights are the San Francisco 49ers. This week they made short work of the highly fancied Dallas Cowboys. How legit is Fred Warner?
The Bears win a game, and who is the worst team in the NFL?
Who would've thought that the Patriots would be in the conversation for the worst team, and what does the future hold for them and Bill?
We look at the raft of injuries this season, talk the UK games, and look ahead to Week 6.
Week 4 - Bills beat Dolphins, Bears lose the Toilet Bowl, Jags win in London and Quarter Season Awards
Week 4 is done and dusted and the Bills overcome the Dolphins in what was billed to be the game of the year. Josh Allen is elite, Stefon Diggs is productive, and Miami aren't able to keep up with their AFC East counterparts.
Bears lose the Toilet Bowl against the Denver Broncos, but in a way, didn't everybody involved lose really.
The Jaguars were in London, and got their customary win, against a Falcons team who were at best one dimensional.
We look at which teams we can write off already this season, and look at who have been the best so far, as we have our Quarter Season awards, along with the usual weekly awards for Sweetest Play and Hottest Seat.
Week 3 - Dolphins humble the Broncos, Jets persist with Wilson and Vikings "Charger it up"
Where else to start?
The Dolphins score 70 points against the Broncos. Facing little resistance at all, the Dolphins embarass Sean Payton's team. They even leave time to take pity on them at the end.
The Jets are wasting a talented roster with a QB who is not ready to play. What can they do?
The Vikings lose their head at the last and throw the ball and the game to the Chargers with the last play of the game.
The Bears are the worst team in football, and the Chargers and Texans aren't. The Chargers beat the fancied Cowboys and the Texans beat the fancied Jaguars. What is up in Chicago?
A look ahead to the Week 4 games, including the first London game, and our usual weekly round up of the best and worst of the week.
Week 2 - How much can we read into those 0-2 teams?
Two weeks in, and just like we predicted, the Rams are fun, the Bengals are pap and Baker Mayfield is balling out.
Well maybe not exactly as predicted, but still, the 49ers, Eagles and Cowboys are out front in the NFC, whilst in the AFC, Kansas and Buffalo return to winning ways, after week 1 losses.
We also look ahead to the Week 3 games, and have our weekly prize for Biggest Balls, Sweetest Play, and Hottest Seat.
The Full Week 1 Review
It's overreaction time, and who has surprised us, whether that is good or bad.
The Rams and the Seahawks were better and worse than expected
The Giants o-Line had a night to forget
Who was the best rookie QB?
Who showed the biggest balls?
Who has the sweetest play of the week and which coach has the hottest seat?
Week 1 - Lions beat the Chiefs in seasons opener, Bosa and Burrows sign but Jones doesn't
Let the overreactions begin!
The Lions beat the Chiefs in the seasons opener. Lions defence looks legit and the draft picks make their mark, but the Chiefs are without Travis Kelce, and Kadarious Toney has a nightmare.
Elsewhere, Nick Bosa signs a huge extension, so does Joe Burrow as they lead their respective markets, but elsewhere Chris Jones doesn't agree a new deal with the Chiefs and there is a strange situation with Chandler Jones.
We look into the upcoming weekend as teams open their seasons, and make more predictions for the 2023 season.
Lance Trade, Roster Cuts and Crime Club
We're about a week away from the start of the season and the teams have cut down their rosters to the 53 players they will start the season with. With this Trey Lance has been sent to the Cowboys, will he go down as one of the biggest busts, and what does this mean for 49ers and for Dak?
New England torched their Quarterback room, Vikings re-signed Hockensen, Saints cut Bradley Roby, but otherwise it's pretty shock light.
We let 4th and Inches free with some crime statistics, and the more strange arrests in the world of American Football, and we talk about things we want to see less of in the 2023 season.
Predictions for the 2023 NFL Season
Who is going to win the divisions in the NFL Season, we go through each division in the AFC and NFC, before eventually picking who is going to be playing in the Super Bowl, and who will win the individual awards.
Expect much confusion, arguments and debate as we go through East, North, South and West
Quarter Back Ranking
The season is approaching, and whilst camps are going on, and people read anything into the Hall of Fame game, we look at the QuarterBacks in the league.
From the starters, who is the best, who needs to improve, and who is probably going to suck. Expect arguments, some choices we're bound to look back on with regret, as well interesting debate.
As it is the Hall of Fame weekend, we also discuss who is currently playing who could be going to the Hall of Fame.
Who Needs a Big Year
After a hiatus/break/sabbatical for the off-season we're back, to talk about what has happened since.
Washington have been sold, finally confirmed
Hopkins to the Titans
Running Back news
We discuss who needs a big year, either that because it's a contract year, are they on the downslide, hot seat, or need performances to match a contract?
Looking back on the Draft and One Need For Each AFC Team
After not being able to record last week, we finally look back at the Draft, and who were the stars of the future?
We then look at all the teams in AFC and what are their biggest needs if they want to make an impression on the upcoming season, who needs help on the lines, who needs multiple things, and who looks alright but maybe just a cherry on the top.
It's the 2023 Mock Draft
It's time for our 2023 Mock Draft, and it's time for us to reach, forget and make some stupid decisions as we mock draft the First Round of the 2023.
It's not what we think will happen, but what we would do if we were the GMs.
Who will go first, who will trade up and down, and who will make some moves for players, with some big name players looking at uncertain futures with their teams.
Of course, Aaron Rodgers had to time his trade in with our draft, and the terms for his trade to the Jets are announced.
Looking ahead to the 2023 NFL Draft and Hurts gets PAID
Jalen Hurts is now a very rich man, signing a huge deal to stay with the Philadelphia Eagles until 2028.
Which of the big name QBs will be next in line, and what does this mean, if anything for Lamar?
OBJ is back in the league, signing with the Ravens to potentially link up with Lamar, but can a guy come back from his injury and produce?
Who is going first in the Draft, and who else will be looking to get drafted early, and we look back at the 2020 Draft to see, what is the hit rate for First Round picks, how much of a gamble is the Draft?
Free Agency continued and starting to look ahead to the Draft
The last episode was hectic episode from a busy period of Free Agency and the Franchise Tag, things have quietened down, but who has moved, who is still available?
Elsewhere:
Washington are being sold, it looks like, what is the latest with this.
Which potential draft pick is causing a stir?
Who will we be drafting for in our Mock Draft in a couple of week?
Franchise Tag and Free Agency 2023
Tomorrow starts the beginning of the 2023 NFL Season, and some teams are already busy at work building/disassembling their squads for this coming season.
Firstly, who got the tag, and is this a good thing for them or their teams, and whichever it is, there are some top tier talent with futures that look uncertain.
After this we'll be talking about the trades, starting with the Panthers and Bears swapping the first overall pick in this years draft for some picks and DJ Moore, and then other trades such as Darren Waller to the Giants and Jalen Ramsey to the Dolphins.
We have to mention the trade that seems to be in the offing, but not finalised yet, where Aaron Rodgers looks like he's joining the New York Jets.
Of course, Free Agency is starting up, and some big moves have already started, with Derek Carr to the Saints, and Jimmy G to the Raiders, and we look at who else has moved, and as well, who else is still available.
SuperBowl Review - Great Game, Playing Through Injury, Holding Calls and Poor Turf
The Chiefs are Super Bowl champions, beating the Eagles in a tight game.
We discuss a great game, with some amazing performances, but also
- Mahomes is the GOAT now
- Hurts has a great game
- The sack leaders unable to get involved
- McKinnon's smart play
- The condition of the pitch
Elsewhere Derek Carr is now in charge of his destiny, Calvin Ridley is back, and we talk new coaching hires
SuperBowl 57 Preview and our All-Pro and All-No Players
We look forward to the Super Big Game, and try to work out the script for the night.
- Will the Chiefs offence be able to get past the Eagles defence?
- Can the Eagles ground game pound through the Chiefs defensive line?
- Is it Andy Reid or Sirianni in the battle of Head Coaches?
We also try and pick out our All-Pro team, who will make out ultimate team, and who can we pick out for the All-No team.
Super Championship Weekend - It's a Chiefs-Eagles Superbowl, whilst 49ers have no luck, Bengals pay the penalty and Payton to the Broncos
We now know who is in the Superbowl, and it is going to be the Kansas City Chiefs
- The Eagles get a hit on Brock Purdy that makes the difference
- 49ers run out of luck
- Mahomes shows why he is the best QB in the league
- Bengals rile up the Chiefs
We also look into the new coaching hires, as Broncos bring in Sean Payton, Texans bring in DeMeco Ryans and Frank Reich is in at the Panthers.
We also try and predict who will win the player and coaching awards.
All the important points from every game, and we pick our Sweetest Play of the Week

All the important points from every game, and we pick our Sweetest Play of the Week

It's a superb Super Wildcard Weekend, with only one blowout win, which was close at the half

- Bills are sloppy against the Dolphins, but do enough to win
- Giants beat the Vikings with Danny Dimes in imperious form
- Ravens are stopped at the one yard line in a closer defeat at the Bengals then many people would expect
- Cowboys make life difficult for the Buccs, and Dak is back after his Week 18 struggles
All the salient points, and we look to Super Divisional Round, and pick our Sweetest Play of the Week
Week 18 - Some teams stumble into the Playoffs, Bears will pick first, Lions spoil things for the Packers
