Week 13 - Jimmy G injured but 49ers still win with Mr Irrelevant, Burrow and Bengals beat Chiefs...again
Week 13 - Jimmy G injured but 49ers still win with Mr Irrelevant, Burrow and Bengals beat Chiefs...again
Week 13 is now in the books, and notably the 49ers are looking for help at QB with Jimmy G injured against the Dolphins, who were unable to protect Tua. The Eagles keep on winning, making light work of the Titans. Elsewhere The Raiders win again, and find some late season form The Packers beat the Bears, but who doesn't do that this season Lions keep on winning Lamar is also injured, but the Broncos continue to be anaemic on offence Giants and whatever the Washington team are called tie All games covered, plus gets our Sweetest Play of the Week, brought to you by Toot Sweets https://www.tootsweets.shop/

Week 12 - Thanksgivings Games, Jacobs Big Day and a bad weekend for Quarter Back Wilsons
The Thanksgiving games provided much entertainment, as the Lions and Bills had a close run encounter, the Cowboys have too much for the Giants and New England are within a 'tight' officiating call from a win over the Vikings.  Elsewhere Josh Jacobs has a day The Broncos suck The Jets don't suck with White under centre (for this game at least) The Eagles run all over the Packers Dolphins don't need to try very hard against the hapless Texans Browns beat the Buccs, but say goodbye for new to Brissett All games covered, plus gets our Sweetest Play of the Week, brought to you by Toot Sweets https://www.tootsweets.shop/

Week 11 - Cowboys obliterate the Vikings whilst Eagles and Commanders keep winning
Week 11 is in the book, and after a few weeks of classic games, this week wasn't as epic, but still, the Cowboys obliterate the Vikings 40-3. What does this tell us about either team, or is this just an anomaly? The Eagles keep on winning, pulling out a close victory over the Colts, Hurts providing the winning TD. Lions keep on winning Falcons eek out a close win over the Bears Bengals beat the Steelers Chiefs get a narrow victory over the Chargers Bills back to winning ways Washington win again, as the NFC East that keep on winning Titans consign the Packers to another defeat Patriots and Jets defensive masterclass won at the very end All games covered, plus gets our Sweetest Play of the Week, brought to you by Toot Sweets https://www.tootsweets.shop/

Week 10 - Bills and Vikings have the game of the year, Eagles lose, Packers win and Dolphins keep scoring
Week 10 - Bills and Vikings have the game of the year, Eagles lose, Packers win and Dolphins keep scoring
Week 10 in the books, and what can you say about the Bills and Vikings game? We try and process what must be the best game since the Bills-Chiefs playoff spectacular. The Dolphins keep on scoring, even when you can keep Tyreek Hill and Waddle quiet, they'll find someone else, and the Eagles are surprisingly beaten by the Commanders Elsewhere The Packers break their losing streak, and disrupt the previously on-song Cowboys Colts beat the Raiders, but is McDaniel one and done in Las Vegas? Week 9 - Many humblings and Mixon has a day!
Another week where the NFL is rather drunk. The Jets beat the Bills, in a day where Josh Allen does not turn up.  Elsewhere Joe Mixon has a day  Aaron Rodgers has a day, but not a good one The Seahawks are just routinely excellent The Bears are edged out the Dolphins in a great game in the Windy City All games covered, plus gets our Sweetest Play of the Week, brought to you by Toot Sweets https://www.tootsweets.shop/

Week 8 - Trade Deadline and a few teams go all in
This week saw the final game in London, and the Broncos marginally beat the Jaguars in an attritional match up. Etienne is a stud, but what to make of both these teams? With the trade deadline, making moves are Bradley Chubb to Miami, Calvin Ridley to the Jaguars, Roquan Smith to the Ravens, Nyheim Hines to the Bills and some others that were happening as we started to record. Elsewhere: Eagles march on against a hapless Steelers Zach Wilson loses his head against the Patriots Vikings keep winning Panthers grasp defeat from the jaws of victory All games covered, plus gets our Sweetest Play of the Week, brought to you by Toot Sweets https://www.tootsweets.shop/

Rodgers and Brady have weeks to forget, losing to the Commanders and Panthers respectively. Is this the beginning of the end for two players fighting over the title of the Greatest Ever? Elsewhere: Mahomes is having fun with his new receivers McCaffrey is traded to the 49ers and has a quiet start, but can he make the difference? Jets win again, and the Titans are also on a 4 game winning streak Giants win by inches over the Jaguars Seahawks win comfortably against the Chargers Patriots suck on both offence and defence against the Bears All games covered, plus gets our Sweetest Play of the Week, brought to you by Toot Sweets https://www.tootsweets.shop/

Week 6 - Bills beat Chiefs, Eagles keep on winning, but Packers lose again
Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs played again, after their epic battle in the playoffs last year. This time the Bills came out victorious, but the defence is the main talking point, as Von Miller makes the difference.  Green Bay Packers lose against a New York team for the second week in a row, this time going from 3-3 at half time to lose 27-10 in a game where Rodgers looked as annoyed as the week before.  In the rest of the league: Steelers win against Tampa Bay and Brady was irked Patriots win again, this time pummeling the Browns and stopping their run Giants come back to stop Lamar and beat the Ravens Broncos and Chargers compete to see who can snatch defeat in most anaemic way Who is the our Head Coach of the early season? Week 5 - Are the Giants for real, Bills rip apart the Steelers and Browns go full Chargers
With Week 5 of the NFL season now in the book, the second London game took place and the Giants beat the Packers, and after a few fallow years we ask...are the Giants for real? The Bills wipe the floor with the Steelers, who without TJ Watt, look like they are in for a long disappointing season.  The Dolphins move from 3-0 to 3-2 after playing fast and loose with their QBs heads, and were obliterated by the New York Jets. The Dolphins also lose back up QB Teddy Bridgewater to concussion.  Vikings beat the Bears in a score that seems closer than it should be Bailey Zappe has a winning start for the Patriots, but it's the O-Line and defence that shines Cowboys make life very hard for Matt Stafford as they overcome the Rams Justin Tucker at the death for the Ravens over the Bengals...which is as automatic as it gets All the games in Week 5 covered, also including the Sweetest Play of the Week, brought to you by Toot Sweets https://www.tootsweets.shop/

Week 4 - Eagles still undefeated, Tua concussion concerns, Mahomes in great form and 49ers hit Stafford...a lot
Week 4 of the season, and there is now only one undefeated team, with Eagles beating the Jags to be the only team at 4-0. The Dolphins are defeated but more concerning is Tua is out after a worrying concussion. The Bills come back, Pickett is in for the Steelers, whilst Zappe is an upgrade on Brian Hoyer. Mahomes imperious form against the Buccs Cowboys keep winning Falcons win again Geno Smith is good, but can the Lions defend at all? We ask ourselves, now that Free Agency has happened, and the Draft has been and gone, if you were Head Coach or GM for each of the teams. Arians Moves Upstairs, Frank Gore Retires and Another Snappy Snap
Did Tom Brady force Bruce Arians to take an upstairs role, probably not, but it's a social media trope at the moment. After a Super Bowl win, followed by a narrow loss in the Championship Game, Bruce Arians has stepped aside and Todd Bowles takes control of the Buccaneers.  Malcolm Jenkins has retired, but so has Future Hall of Famer, Frank Gore, who is now concentrating on boxing...yeah!? Super Divisional Round - Brady and Rodgers bow out, but Bengals win at the last and Chiefs and Bills have the game of the year
We now know who is playing in the Championship games, and for the first time in a decade it won't feature either Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers, who were beaten by the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers respectively. A Brady style comeback from the Buccaneers is foiled by the familiar combination of Stafford to Cooper Kupp at the end to set up Matt Gay, and the 49ers win a low scoring game with Robbie Gould set up with time expiring.  Joe Burrow is sacked a record times by the Titans, but the Titans defence are let down by an anemic performance from the offence and somehow the Bengals are in the Championship game.  The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills have a game of the year contender, and open up all sorts of questions about overtime.

All the week 18 games are covered, as Green Bay lead the NFC despite a loss against the Lions, and Titans beat the Texans to get the bye in the AFC.  Broncos, Bears & Vikings are now looking for new Head Coaches (with the latter two also on the search for GMs) whilst for some reason the Dolphins have fired Brian Flores. We started the record with New York Giants looking for a new GM, then finish with Joe Judge also fired, and the Giants also looking for a new Head Coach.

Week 17 - Bengals beat the Chiefs and secure the AFC North and Cardinals stop the losing streak
Week 17 of the NFL season and we're at the business end of the season and there were results which affected Playoff standings The Bengals come back to win against the Chiefs The Steelers remain in contention beating the Browns The Titans take the lead in the AFC The Packers remain imperious against the depleted Vikings Cardinals stop the slump by beating the Cowboys, who lose Gallup to an ACL injury All this plus all the games that matter to the playoffs, and the few that don't.

Week 16 - Bills take control of AFC East, Chiefs imperious again, and Cowboys rack up points against Washington
In Week 16 of the 2021 NFL season, the Bills win against the Patriots and take control of the AFC East, with Josh Allen in fine form against a previously lights out defence. Kansas City Chiefs beat an incredibly poor Steelers Dallas Cowboys beat the Football Team, but what can we learn about that, if anything? The New York Giants were pathetic again, but what is new?

Week 15 - Meyer is fired, Saints shut out Buccs and when is a gutsy 4th down play call a bad one?
To the surprise of few, Urban Meyer is fired, although to go mid-season for allegedly kicking Josh Lambo was not how we saw it going. He leaves with two wins and a team in disarray, but are they better without him? A few coaches, Jim Harbaugh and Brandon Staley in particular, made gutsy 4th down calls this week, but is this a bad thing? Kansas City Chiefs offence is back on form, but Chargers leave a lot of points on the field Indianapolis Colts run down the Patriots Dallas Cowboys beat a poor New York Giants All the Week 15 games covered

Week 14 - Rams beat Cardinals, Broncos pay tribute to Demaryius Thomas & our latest NFL Power Rankings
Week 14 - Rams beat Cardinals, Broncos pay tribute to Demaryius Thomas & our latest NFL Power Rankings
As the race for the Playoffs begins to heat up, where in the NFC the Rams catch up a game on the Cardinals, whilst the Packers and Buccaneers are also at 10-3. In the AFC the Chiefs and Titans join the Patriots at 9-4, whereas the Baltimore Ravens lose to the Browns as injuries continue to hit Baltimore. The Broncos pay an emotional tribute to Demaryius Thomas, who sadly passed at the age of 33. Are the Cowboys actually good, they should be, but does the potential meet what is being produced? Urban Meyer is having issues on and off the pitch in Jacksonville, but is he to blame for the Jags? It's our Power Rankings time, and in an season that is hard to predict, how unanimous our the picks?

Week 13 (2021 Season) - Pats running to the Number One Seed & Lions actually win
With Jim along via FaceTime, the team is reunited to go over all the happenings in Week 13, including: Pats win with a playbook from the 1950s Lions win a game, and Mike Zimmer's seat is now burning Steelers win, but Ravens lose after going to two, and more players to injury Cardinals have Kyler back, and continue winning Mike Glennon is not the answer for the Giants Who is worse, the Texans or the Jags

Week 12 (2021 Season) - The Playoff hunt remains very open as Cowboys & Rams lose again, Patriots are in form whilst the Seahawks are not
Thanksgiving games ranged from the ridiculous shamble of Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions, to a brilliant game between Las Vegas Raiders at Dallas Cowboys that went into overtime.  The Patriots are in great form, beating the Titans who are short of attacking options, whilst the Bills bully the Saints and Miami defence shows up against Carolina, and give Cam Newton a torrid time.  Green Bay Packers beat Los Angeles Rams, as two of the best teams in the NFC faced off, whilst the Buccaneers beat the Colts, where Fournette was in top form.  In the race for the playoffs, Bengals trounce the Steelers, the 49ers beat Minnesota Vikings, the Broncos beat the Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens best the Cleveland Browns in a low scoring game, the Giants beat the Eagles and Football Team overcome the Seahawks, as Russell Wilson loses three games straight for the first time.

Week 11 (2021 Season) - Patriots, Colts & Chiefs finding form at the right time, what is going on with the Seahawks and Vikings overcome the Packers
On a week with the original recipe set of presenters (Thrash & Griff) we discuss the Patriots becoming the form team in the AFC, whilst the Colts create one of the results of the season against the Bills. The Chiefs continue to find form and defensive stability against a Cowboys team that have started to stutter a bit, but have very little to worry about.  The Vikings have enough to beat the Packers in a thrilling contest, and Titans lose to the Texans somehow.

Week 10 (2021 Season) - Kansas City have their swagger back, how good are the Patriots and Rams slip up against the 49ers
The crazy results continue, with the Rams and Buccaneers losing, whilst the Cardinals injury hit team are beaten by the Carolina Panthers, who welcome back Cam Newton in an easy win.  The Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots make easy work of New York Jets and Cleveland Browns, whilst Dallas Cowboys return to form with a crushing win against Atlanta Falcons.  The Kansas City Chiefs score big again against Las Vegas Raiders who are struggling after a few weeks of strife off the field, with Patrick Mahomes back to his best. All the games covered, whilst we discuss our Head Coach power rankings.

Week 9 (2021 Season) - Bad week for Cowboys, Packers, 49ers, Bills, and even worse for the Raiders, whilst Cleveland Browns win big after cutting OBJ
It is a week to forget for Dallas Cowboys, who are thrashed by Denver Broncos, whilst the Bills are even more disappointing in a turgid game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Jordan Love gets his first start for Green Bay Packers, after Aaron Rodgers has a week to forget, and they lose another turgid affair to Kansas City Chiefs.  Las Vegas Raiders have it even worse, cutting two 2020 first round draft picks, and also losing to an improving (at least defensively) New York Giants. It's our half-season power ranking, who will come out on top, and who will be the worst.

Green Bay Packers beat Arizona Cardinals, who in worse news may have to be without Kyler Murray for a game or two, whilst JJ Watt is out for the year.  Dallas Cowboys win against the Vikings, even without Dak. The Saints hoodoo over the Brady-led Buccs continues, but they lose Jameis Winston for the season to a knee injury. All the games are covered, even the bad ones, whilst we look into the Trade Deadline, including the Rams move for Von Miller.

Week 7 (2021 season) - Chiefs & Mahomes are struggling, Bengals are actually good, how good are the Raiders, what to make of the Lions, #NationalTightEndsDay & QB Power Ranking
The Chiefs are really struggling now, and even Patrick Mahomes is proving to be human, and this latest loss wasn't even close. Elsewhere the Bengals thrash the Ravens, with Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase are playing lights out.  Are the Ravens Super Bowl contenders, at least one person thinks so? Dan Campbell is making decisions like an 8 year old playing Madden, is this a show of bravery, fun or should we even care? Away from the games, we have a quiz to celebrate National Tight Ends Day, about some of the greatest players to ever grace the position, and we Power Rank all the starting Quarter Back in the league.

Week 6 (2021 Season) Cowboys are legit, Rodger OWNS the Bears, Jags win in London and Gruden is gone
Jon Gruden is gone from the Raiders, after emails are released showing historic offences. The Cowboys beat the Patriots in another overtime game, and Cee Dee Lamb looks every bit a leading receiver.  The Jags hand a last second loss to the Dolphins as the NFL UK tour ends, with a first win for Urban Meyer. The Cardinals keep winning, and the Packers hand another loss to the Bears

John Gruden under scrutiny after racist comments emerge from the recent past, whilst Urban Meyer continues to face questions after his trip to the bar. Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Chargers have a game of the season contender, whilst why hasn't there been more Justin Herbert for MVP chatter? Another MVP candidate, Kyler Murray, leads Arizona Cardinals to a tight win over San Francisco 49ers.

Cardinals are the only unbeaten team in the league, beating the Rams who came into this week on top of most pundit's Power Rankings.  Brady returns to Foxboro and gets the win, but there are also signs of encouragement for Belichick and Mac Jones for the Patriots.  Urban Meyer is a dirty dog, and whilst the Jaguars are improving, they are still 0-4 The Cowboys look great, New York Giants win and the Bills demolish the Football Team

Week 3 2021 - Rams continue to impress, what is going on with the Bears and struggles in New York
Week 3 is done and dusted, and Stafford seems to be having no trouble at all settling in at Los Angeles, where the Rams have shown that the Buccaneers are beatable. The Panthers and Raiders continue to impress, whilst Broncos make the most of their soft schedule to start.  The Ravens win it late with Justin Tucker hitting the longest field goal ever, but the Lions are at least trying. Justin Fields has problems on his first start for the Chicago Bears, but is it Matt Nagy's fault...hint, it is. The Giants are struggling, whilst the Jets are even worse, whilst we when will the Jaguars ever win again? Also, what happened to decent Centre play?

Week 2 (2021 Season) - Lamar vs Mahomes and Cack Wilson
Week 2 is now in the book and some of the Over-reactions from Week 1 were corrected, as the Packers look more like themselves, the Patriots put on a defensive masterclass, Derrick Henry is running through defences again, the Steelers fail to protect Big Ben and Jameis is back throwing it to the opposition.  Along with this, we also discuss: Derek Carr is brilliant The Chiefs defence may cost their amazing offence, but Lamar comes up big Vikings miss at the last Daniel Jones is not the problem for the Giants....this week at least NFL becomes the No Fun League again, with too many taunting penalties, whilst 4th & Inches also briefly tries some ASMR

Week 1 2021 - Over Reaction Central
So the Texans may not be the worst team in football, although Week 1 of the 2021 NFL Season has a couple of storied teams that had absolutely awful starts to the season. Amongst everything else this week, we discuss: Kansas City Chiefs have (another) tight victory, this time over the impressive Browns, but that KC offence can just not be stopped The repeat is on for the Buccs, but Cowboys offense impress in narrow loss The Steelers go full Steelers in beating the much fancied Buffalo Bills Green Bay break records, but in a bad way, whilst Lasik Jameis has laser focused efficiency for New Orleans Saints Seattle start well again The Falcons look set for a long season, and Eagles take an early lead in NFC East Tannehill is offered very little protection from Chandler Jones 49ers suffer with injuries...for a change

Week 7 - Seahawks lose Cam Struggles at 49ers and Antonio Brown is Back at Buccs
In a week where Antonio Brown returns to the NFL with Tampa Bay Buccaneers, what does this mean for the leagues most All Star offence. The Seahawks lose, in a classic game against Arizona, the Steelers keep on winning, this time against the Titans, and the Patriots struggle again, against a 49ers team that are beat up but scheming brilliantly. Whilst the NFC West might be the strongest in football the NFC East is the weakest, and chaos reign at the Cowboys.

Week 5 - 693 Days, The End of Dan Quinn & Dak's Ankle
Week 5 and another week disrupted by COVID. Dan Quinn's time in Atlanta has ended. Where next for the a team that expects more? Whilst it was great to see Alex Smith back for Washington Football Team (in a way) it was genuinely sad to see Dak out for the season for Dallas Cowboys. The Chiefs lose their 100% record, but the Seahawks carried on winning, although this time making it a bit hard.

Week 3 - Mahomes Wilson and Rodgers continue to excel but New York Sucks
Week 3 of the NFL season, and whilst there are less injuries this week, COVID rears its ugly head again, after an apparent outbreak in Tennessee. All the games covered this week including: Kansas City Chiefs won the Monday night game against the Baltimore Ravens, who seem to be kryptonite to Lamar Jackson. Seahawks overcome Dallas in a game of some pulsating offence, and baffling bad defence. The Falcons manage to grasp defeat from victory again, this time to the Bear. The Eagles do everything they can to avoid a win. Which New York team is worse (hint: it's the Jets, but not by a lot) Where for Earl Thomas?

Week 2 (2020 Season) - Injuries Hit Hard
Week 2 of the 2020 season will be remembered mainly for the amount of injuries that a lot of talented players received. Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, Courtland Sutton and seemingly half the 49ers now face weeks out, or an early end to the season. In play, the Chiefs sneaked an overtime win over Los Angeles Chargers, who had a new face at Quarter Back, whilst the Falcons find new ways to blow a lead, this time against the Dallas Cowboys. The Seattle Seahawks continue to impress, along with Baltimore Ravens, whilst the Giants and Philadelphia Eagles struggle

Week 1 Review - NFL 2020 Season
Week 1 is here, so whilst we try to avoid any first week overreactions, it's hard to not to think that the Jets may be the worst team in football at the moment, and the Jags and Washington Football Team getting wins may be outliers on a perculiar season. Brees and the Saints overcome Brady and the Buccs, in a win that left more questions than answers. The Packers look on top form in overcoming the Vikings, whilst does anyone in NFC East actually look particularly good?

The Bills somehow contrive to lose whilst dominating against the Houston Texans, with Josh Allen going to pot. What was that about Kirk Cousins in prime time? The Vikings best the Saints in overtime. The Eagles lose to the Seahawks, but not that much of a surprise when they had to play Josh McCown for most of the game. Was that an illegal hit on Wentz though?
