The Different Ways Grief Shows Up | Journey 40 w/Vivian Nunez
On this episode I’m joined by Vivian Nunez, a writer and content creator. We begin by discussing Vivian’s platform and what led her to start it, talking about grief and the difference between grieving at ten versus twenty-one. Continuing on grief, we talk about how grief for every person is different and shows up differently for every loss. I then ask Vivian what she would recommend to someone supporting someone else who is grieving. Afterwards we talk about how accomplishment varies for each person on a daily basis – for some, it’s just getting out of bed, for others it can look much different. The next subject of our conversation is balance; how balance can look different, and be more flexible than simply “everything is equal” at all times. We then discuss the practice of taking care of ourselves, and how difficult it can be when you’re accustomed to taking care of others instead. We also talk about social media and how it’s actually helped the conversation around mental health grow. Vivian also recounts this impactful quote from one of her friends; “I can’t turn on the light, but I can sit with you in the dark.”

Finding Balance and Normalizing the Dark Thoughts | Journey 30 w/ Kathryn Burmeister
Lawyer, coach and author, Kathryn Burmeister joins me on the podcast this week to share her story.
While working as a personal injury lawyer in Georgia, the managing partner of Kathryn's firm committed suicide. Working on these cases without the support that she needed led Kathryn to overworking, not taking care of herself and eventually hitting her rock bottom. She shared with me how she came back from that dark place, why it inspired her to help others, and the importance of being proactive as opposed to reactive with your mental health.

Reflecting on 2020 | Vulnerability and What Comes Next
I have been doing a lot of reflecting on this past year and the journey that I have been on. One word has stood out more than any, Vulnerability, unknowingly I have been focussing on vulnerability and it has lead to enormous amounts of growth for me.
However I feel that it is time for a new focus, I'm not 100% sure what that is yet, but I am excited to share it with all of you.

Don't Wait for a Heart Attack to Start Working on Yourself | Journey 12 w/ Brandon Archer
On today's episode I'm joined by Brandon Archer (@brandon.s.archer), a men's work leader and coach who's journey of self discovery started with a sudden heart attack while riding his bike in 2016. We discuss how his life changed after that, joining a men's group and challenging the narratives that we tell ourselves. We also talk about creating loving and honest environments where the people around us feel safe enough to point out our blindspots, and how instead of fighting against our "old brain" we can meet it with compassion and work with it to propel us forward.

Using Psychedelics and Plant Medicine with Purpose | Pit Stop 18
On this episode of the podcast I'm joined by Andy (@andy.ngvyen) to learn more about his experiences with psychedelics and plant medicine. We discuss approaching these substances not for recreation, but with intention, in a safe setting, and integrating the experience after it is over.
Although Psychedelics are not something that I plan on trying, it is a topic that I have had a lot of curiosity around as several people I know have recently spoken to me about the positive experiences that they have had.

Getting out of your Head and Taking Action | Pit Stop 16
On this episode of the podcast Andy and I discuss how people can get stuck in their heads with self help and development, where they continually learn about it, but struggle to put any of it into action. We talk about why we think this happens and some strategies that we have used to break out of this pattern.
