It's a full on student takeover for our second season finale. Patrick Guerrero will sit down with students Ashleigh Patridge, and Bennett Folsom after a long week of finals to talk about their experiences during their first year here at the Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine (don't worry, we recorded this weeks ago, they're enjoying their summer right now). They will discuss topics such as study habits, past experiences leading up to school, and some advice for incoming and prospective students.

Did you know the veterinary school also has many postgraduate students pursuing a Masters or PhD? Two of these postgraduate students, Sara Beth Boggan and Savana Everhart, sit down with Pippa to discuss the process of creating a PhD program and the challenges of completing it. They will discuss their favorite things about the program including their mentors, colleagues, and the outdoors scene of the Texas panhandle.

Donovan Patterson from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department discusses with Clayton the work of the Texas Fresh Water Fisheries Center, including reproduction programs for increasing the size of Bass. Learn about good places to fish, research in aquaculture, and discover the location of a semi-secret center where you can observe and learn about fish species endemic to Texas.

RaiderVet Podcast S1E7: Sarah Innis, Val Trevino and Dylan Bostick
This episode focuses on the application process for the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine. Kelly interviews the Director of Admissions and Student Services, and Amarillo native, Sarah Innis. They discuss the reasons for our selection process, and the behind the scenes work done to ensure we admit students that meet our school's mission. After that, Anthony (TJ) sits down with two of the first generation Raidervets in the making: Val Trevino and Dylan Bostick. They will give you a better idea on what the application process is like from an applicant's point of view, and what could make a future applicant a good candidate. They will also discuss their experience in the first semester of this program.

In this episode two of the power couples of the veterinary school sit down to discuss various aspects of the profession. First Pippa interviews Dr. John Gibbons, her colleague and husband, and discuss different aspects of research including benefits to producers, founding and student involvement. After that, Kelly sits down with economist Dr. Ryan Williams (her husband) on the importance of introducing veterinary students to concepts such as economic health and practice finances. Ryan flips the script on his better half and interviews Dr. Kelly Williams on the importance of emotional health and how we are making sure our students are in the best mental health possible during vet school.
