On this episode, Lambert and I are recording in the Ute CrossFit gym. We talk about a few myths that we have heard throughout the years of our experience either as crossfitters or as a coach. We wanted to break down some of those and give some clarity to what's really going on in a CrossFit gym and try to share some of the positives that happen in and out of the gym.
On this episode, we recap the 2021 open and talk about standards and what to try to focus on going forward. After the open is over we get excited about the test that we just put ourselves through and then we work on a few weaknesses, but keeping that going all year is tough so we talk about how to keep yourself excited and working on something even on those days you don't feel like working out.
On episode 5 of Beyond the Metcon,
Lambert and I wanted you all to get to know us a little more in our CrossFit journey. We have had our ups and downs and wanted you all to hear the stories that we found funny after they were done. We talk about moments that we thought were funny or awesome in workouts, competitions, and even while coaching class. We all have those moments that we remember and will stay with us forever, such as PR's or moments of failure, but at the end of the day both are equally important. Let us know what moments have stuck with you over the years and even those moments that helped shape you into something better than the day before.
On this week's episode, we talk about what you need for CrossFit, what is nice to have, and what cool but not really needed.
As the episode progresses, we go from what we feel is really important for all crossfitters to have with them everyday/week to something you may use only once a year. Lambert and Madison, both have what they like to have with them that isn't the same as the others.

In this episode we discuss the concept of healthy competing in CrossFit on all levels. That word scares some people in the world of CrossFit and excites some people. We talk about how to use the competitiveness to help you meet your goals and also how to use it to keep you excited to keep coming back everyday. Our main goal of this podcast was to talk about how to keep a healthy mindset towards the idea of competition and how to use it to your advantage to keep progressing forward to your health goals.
